Guy who caught it didnt want any money. Yanks gave him 4 championship suite tickets for the rest of the season. 4 front row legends seats tickets for tmrw, and multiple autographed balls and bats

Based on the interview I saw with the guy in the 6th inning I'd say this guy had very limited knowledge of the value of the ball he just caught. " Umm yeah I mean I knew he was on the quest for 3,000...these tickets were a gift from my girlfriend".
He did get 4 luxury box seats for the rest of the year all the way through the playoffs which if he figures out the ticket market he should be able to bring in around 100 grand.
I agree with the fact that he really should have tried to cash in though. The type of person that would have bought that ball has money to blow, and this guy said himself he is working at Verizon wireless "just trying to get by". Basically a blank check to a certain extent fell in his lap and the Yankee reps swooped in and sold him the quick compensation package. Nothing wrong with wanting to just make sure Jeter got the ball and it's not like he only got a free hot dog, those tix have value.
