Hit yesterday with Arizona and Butler while missing on San Diego State. Only one play for now but that could change later as I have a lean towards VCU
Richmond +10.5 vs. Kansas(2 units) Chris Mooney is one of the nation's most underrated coaches and a brilliant prep guy. He played at Princeton under Pete Carrill and uses a near-exact version of the original Princeton offense. Yet his team has far more athletes and playmakers than is typically seen in this system, making the Spiders lethal offensively. They shoot the 3 ball with deadly accuracy (40%, #10 nation) and have 3 senior starters in Anderson, Harper, and Geriot.
Perhaps the Spiders' greatest quality is that they don't beat themselves, turning the ball over on just 16.4% of possessions, 11th in the country. Valuing the ball will be particularly important today since Richmond generates very few second-chances and the Kansas bigs do a stellar job of cleaning their defensive glass. However, the Spiders do have the size to battle KU on the boards, with supreme shot blocker Darius Garrett and Dan Geriot both capable of rebounding the ball proficiently. I actually think Richmond has some similarities to last year's Northern Iowa team, which had a ton of experience as well and was excellent at dictating the pace and preventing Jayhawk transition opportunities. They also committed very few fouls, another positive trait of this Richmond squad. Additionally, Richmond is 12th in the nation in opponent 3-point percentage and should, theoretically, be able to limit quality looks for Taylor, Morningstar, and Reed.
There's a ton of pressure on Kansas in this tournament given the manner in which last season ended and the seemingly easy path by which they now have to travel to reach the Final Four. Richmond will now be playing its 4th NCAA Tournament game (appeared last year as well) and has not lost February 17th at Temple. Spidey is on a roll and with its experience, precision shooting, complex matchup zone defense, and brilliant coaching, this game stays close until the end. I realize Kansas won't get caught napping the way they did last year, but Richmond is not your typical double-digit seed and has the stuff to stay with the Jayhawks.

I think the Buckeyes are indeed the best team but this is a pure gut play on Cal's Kids and a hunch that this game turns into a classic one way or another. OSU looks so bullet-proof and it just seems like they're due for a slugfest and Kentucky has the coaching and talent to provide that challenge. Could be a blowout if OSU is hot yet again, but I can't go against my gut in this spot.

Second straight very positive night. Thought about Kentucky ML but I'm happy with a near 2-unit win and profit for the night. Likely play on Butler tomorrow
