No one is doubting the history of OSU, but to say that TCU and Boise have just become good is ignorant. TCU has won 2 national titles and 16 conference titles. The Davey O' Brien award, given to the best college qb, played at ...you guessed it- TCU. While Boise may be new to the FBS, they have a history of winning. They have a JC nat title and a FCS title as well. Add to those 15 conference titles since BSU first fielded a team in 1968. Personally, I think it is impressive that a team could move up to the FBS and win a BCS game against a football royalty( Oklahoma) in only 10 years.

Veto22,
Boise actually has a stronger SOS than OSU this year.
I think people just figure that playing in the Big Ten is so hard.. fact of the matter is playing Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, Penn State and Michigan isn't that difficult... Between those schools, Illinois lost to Mizzu, Purdue lost to Notre Dame AND Toledo, Minnesota lost to USC, South Dakato St and N. Illinois, Penn State got embarrassed v 'Bama and Indiana barley beat an Akron team who won one game in the MAC this year.
You can also throw in Iowa (beat by Arizona) and Wisconsin (who needed Arizona St to miss a PAT to win).
I'm not saying OSU wouldn't beat Boise or TCU (or vice versa)..but this notion that OSU plays such a hard schedule and Boise/TCU don't, just isn't true. I'm sure Boise would love to open up their schedule with Ohio U, Marshall, Miami, E. Michigan, Illinois and Indiana... play one tough game (at Wisconsin) and then finish with Purdue, Minnesota, Penn State, Iowa and Michigan... I mean how is that schedule any more difficult than what Boise plays?? That schedule is a joke...
Boise would beat Iowa and Penn State by two scores and everybody else (aside from Wisconsin and Ohio State) by four/five TD's. They would dismantle Michigan.
I think if Boise had OSU's exacty schedule, they would end up with 2 losses, maybe one. Just my opinion.

veto is both right and wrong. He is right about Ohio State and wrong about Boise.
All-time winning % Ohio St is #4 at .7165
Boise is #6 at .7114
and like you said thorpe it dont matter what happened 50 yrs ago,,heck Michigan is the all-time winning % leader,,thats right #1 all-time,,but I sure dont think they are better than either Ohio State or Boise.
