So what on Pitt taking Utah to OT. Then comparing ND dominating Pitt. Well didn't Navy dominate ND then got their asses handed to them by Duke????
Means nothing that Pitt took Utah to OT!

The only somewhat legit way to compare these teams this year is common opponents. I'm even willing to toss out the Pitt and Oregon St. season openers for both teams as the first game of the year is always a feel-out game to get your feet under you.
As for common opponents, hands down TCU holds a strong edge in that department. Both won all the games. Here are the winning margins and yardage margins...
UNLV - Utah by 28 pts / 19 yard margin...TCU by 42 pts and 333 yard margin
Wyoming - Utah by 24 pts / 248 yards....TCU by 45 pts. / 387 yards
Colorado St. - Utah by 53 pts. / 435 yards...TCU by 27 pts. / 313 yards
Air Force - Utah by 5 pts. / -84 yards...TCU by 31 pts. / 331 yards
If you really take a good look at those games you will see in all but 1 game TCU far outplayed and outgained Utah against common opponenets. The one they didn't, both teams still rolled big and had 300+ yard margin.
As for homefield...I did watch that Pitt overtime game and wasn't that impressed by the crowd being too much of a factor. Thank you Utah for all the covers this year...but TCU plays for the BCS title this year.

Big Utah fan here. Utes have won 21 straight at home, crazy sellout crowd wearing all black, team wearing new jerseys for military. I hope Utah wins but TCU defense is very good. This will be a low scoring close game decided by a field goal. Gotta go with the home dog getting points. Under for sure. Good luck.

Irish is right if the Utes needed OT to beat Pitt, how can anyone think they can keep up to TCU even at home. Too much on the line for the # 3 ranked Horned Frogs who are better on both sides of the ball. TCU

News flash: Pitt was pretty solid before they got rocked with injury. Romeus was a difference make in that defense.
Not that it really matters now, that was ages ago and teams change. I really don't think Utah has improved that much since then, I still think they can keep it within a touchdown. +7, bought the hook
