Turfway Race 11....goes off at 9:59 EST...#8 is scratched
Not sure how drf.com would pick a $29,000 ALW race here as their race of the day, but there are 13 horses in it, and it does present a bit of a handicapping challenge.
To win it all, I like an 8-1 ML shot here, #6 WINNERS GET EVEN is well-positioned in a field with a number of suspects.Orlando Mojica (not Rafael Mojica, who is on the #4) rides for Phil Sims and the two are 23% WINS for 2009-10. O. Mojica is 3/1-1-1 with the animal.
The Steven Got Even colt's best form is on the poly (9/2-1-2) and he likes the track (7/2-1-2) and distance (4/1-1-1).
Competition comes from #1 Deputy Darling, a real up and comer who looks good at this level and has some real closing ability. One of the faves at 7-2, he will be coming late. Beware the nice combo of Mike Maker with Tom Pompell aboard...25% since 2009 together, and the horse looks to be in very good form.
For third and maybe second plave, take a look at #11 Touch ofSuccess at 8-1 ML, a bit of an underachiever out of Touch Gold with an underachieving trainer and jock. The horse will get all the credit here, if he finishes ITM, as he is 14/1-5-3 lifetime; 9/0-3-2 at the track, 2/0-2-0 at the distance, but he seems to be in every race at this level.
