unlike any other team sports since 1980 the best player in the playoffs wins the the championships. magic and larry bird took turns in the the early eighties one year 76ers slipped in moses malone was the best player.

one exception detroit slipped in when magic was injured before the finals. then the michael jordan era started alojuwan slipped in couple years when jordan was out play basebal. then of course the years with david robinson then shaquille oneal detroit slipped in when a depleted lakers team again was injured.

then of course tim duncan dwayne wade dirk novitzki kobe bryant kawhi leonard lebron james curry and james again..

basically two injury ridden years by detroit otherwise the best player always wins. same reasons why karl malone charles barkley alan iverson patrick ewing etc never won playing in those eras.

lebron is still the best players i bet cleveland to win series and prop bet on lebron mvp because if they win lebron will be the best player on the court again

this year looks like an exception year with the loaded golden state team ... however i really predict there will be a key injury to the warriors that will give lebron another championships.  and also he will be sporting the james harden wig with the bearded chinstrap all series

then it occurred to me that kevin durant may be the best player in these finals.. however its the basketball gods i see a key injury to golden state sometime in the series

No chance of winning? Hahahaha if GS was unbeatable, how are they not undefeated right now... The League controls everything... If they wanted to make Cleveland look untouchable... If they wanted the Nets to win 65+ games next year, they could.. You are falling into Silver's trap, you will learn one day that all sports are fixed and scripted... Apparently what happened last year in the Finals and WS and then this year in the SB didnt wake you up yet...

watch the series again he was definitely the best player in that series.. he wouldnt miss any key shots. i think that series he peaked and played out of his mind all his numbers were higher.

he outplayed lebron in that series.. unlike football where a team effort and good game plans beats favored super talented teams with a collective effort in basketball the best player wins

winner of this series will be determined by who is the better player between kevin durant and lebron james for the series

if klay, dray, KD or steph gets hurt tonight and out the rest of the series and the cavs come back to win then i will be scared because you probably rigged sports

certain story lines lebron needs to win another so they can put him in the goat with jordan conversation. but i dont think cavs can win without a key injury to golden state.. one thing that will separate jodan he is undefeated in the finals.. no one can claim that in last several decades among super stars not role players

Kevin Durant was the odds on favorite to win the MVP.

That's who the books think the best player is

LeBron has been the best player in the league for 11 years and he has lost before. So not true.

No its not lmao. Its who they think will win the MVP title not who they think the better player is. Its two very different things.

Depleted lakers team? What a joke. Kobe & Shaq had nothing physically wrong with them, plus Gary Payton and Karl Malone. That Lakers team was stacked, it's problem wasn't injuries but rather age. Detroit beat an old & tired Lakers team.

This is what's called back-engineering.

BECAUSE Dallas won the series, Nowitski was the best player. If Nowitski had put up exactly the same numbers he did in that series but Dallas instead lost 4-2, then you wouldn't be saying he was the best player because it wouldn't fit your narrative. If Irving goes for 50 pts over the next 4 games in this series (incl. tonight), he'll automatically become your "best player" thus fulfill your narrative. Shove your back-engineering of stats to where the sun don't shine.

karl malone injured his knee during regular season they brought in horace grant to relieve shaq and malone but when malone went down horace played excellent but he was too carry the load of too many mimutes at that age. then when malone returned he was still gimpy and the frount court was just  injured malone and shaq with his foot problems to carry the minutes.

healthy malone and horace grant no way they lose shaq was still the best player

Durant game 2:

33 pts, 6 assists, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, 5 blocks

Only 2 games...but who's the best player on the floor?
