Wasn't referring to the name, but the move itself.

Why? To actually attend the games?

I think the Raiders should get Levis stadium in Santa Clara and send the 49ers to Las Vegas

The NFL is already shady and corrupted so moving the Raiders to Las Vegas has no ethical effect IMO...

I lived in Vegas for 13 years and it is teeming with sports' fans who would love to have a pro football team of their very own.

Life fan,   I hated when they moved before.  I thought they learned there lesson and moved them back.  Now the talks of moving them again has me sick. I so wanted them to win it all in hopes they would have to stay in Oakland.   Huge sorrow

Life fan. Hated the LA move but love this move to Vegas.
They play in a baseball stadium which never sells out. OK, it sells out because the entire upper deck is tapped off with a giant Raiders banner.
They need a new facility which won't happen in Oakland.
Some free agents will be more inclined to play in Vegas than other city's. Oakland is on the bottom of the list.
Personally, I'll be traveling to Vegas to see some games.
Did I mention they play in a baseball stadium?

If you build it, they will come. Californians will drive to Vegas like they do every weekend.

Could Vegas books lose all the Raiders' games if they should move to Vegas? By law, Vegas can't accept wages on the local team, such as UNLV games?

It would be very bad IMO. NFL players are people too- how many will develop bad gambling and drug problems on off days

As an old timer Rams fan. I've lived the agony & sadness of having your team being Kidnapped. So, I can relate to what the Chargers and possible the Raiders fans are going through, not a good feeling at all!. But thankfully I've also lived the thrill and excitement of having your team comeback home just like the prodigal son. So if the NFL wants to right up one wrong why not have The San Diego Raiders! Just saying!.

They are thinking as business partners and business success--attendance, venue upgrades, long term values, branding....probably LAST on their list is the social aspect, that is fans and effect on fans.

I think vegas will support an NFL team big time, but they must be a winner, If you go back to the old UNLV days with tark the shark, Vegas sold out the thomas & mack every home game. they were a great team, and so if the nfl want to do well they must have a winner., that is in most cases. ff

40 year fan here and not liking it one bit. Only positive is it will make it a little easier to go see a home game in Vegas than in Oakland with me living in Toronto.

no that law changed many years ago when republicans wanted to take away sports betting in nevada saying if you dont allow bets on unr or unlv why should you allow it on other teams

I bet on UNLV frequently here, that restriction was lifted a while ago. The only thing you can't bet is if the casino has ownership on a team. I don't bet the NBA but I know you can't bet one of their teams at Silverton( I want to say it's one of the La teams), Or when the Maloofs owned the Kings, you couldn't bet them at the Palms. I think Adelson is a getting some sort of ownership, so you won't be able to bet the raiders at Sands run casinos.

That being said, growing up in this city, I don't see how the Raiders will be supported other than by tourists and the casinos as an added perk to get people to gamble. There are a ton of raiders fans here though, so I could be wrong, just think the raiders fans we have here will be priced out.
