Weight straps are pieces of cloth or leather that support hand grips and make it easier to hold onto heavy weight.  To use, slide hands through circles of straps.  Adjust straps to fit snugly around wrists.  Wrap ends of straps around bar holding plates.

I use them all the time.. On exercises where you "undergrip" the bar (like an arm curl bar), start the to wrap on the "top" side  of the bar, and tighten accordingly.

The complete opposite procedure for "overgrip" bar grips like a Lat Pull down.

The above should prevent the bar from ever slipping, when done correctly.
