It doesn't have to be a touch screen but does offer features for it.

I am keeping all of my customers on 7, except for one office where the owner has to have the latest of all software.

I remained with 7. Your recommendation made sense.

I really liked windows 10, but other devices had some problems, specially about the wifi driver...

I have a laptop that wasn't TOL but a pretty good one nonetheless........came loaded with W7. I got tricked into upgrading to W10 last summer after avoiding the pop-ups for months. Things were OK for a while but then I noticed it slowing down. One day a couple months ago it pretty much froze, & I noticed the HDD was spinning 100% (500G not even half full)........but no programs were running. .......literally couldn't even shut it down.......had to pull the battery & unplug it.
I proceeded to spend 20-25 hours troubleshooting it......reloading 10, turning off certain windows programs, settings, checking for virus/malware, HDD check,  etc. (found out I'm not the only one with this issue) & couldn't fix it.......even the MS techs gave up as I found out from other queries I read online. I'd start it up & have about 20 minutes before the hdd would start going nuts rendering it unusable & I'd have to pull the plug.
Well, I was about to shiit-can it when a buddy of mine told me I could probably reset it back to factory settings. Sure enough, for a Toshiba laptop (& many others I'm sure) there is a process on start-up that allows you to reset the unit back to the out-of-the-box state.........back to W7. I spent several hours copying files to another HDD (20 mins. on....shut down & reboot, repeat) & then did the reset........VOILA!......problem cured. My laptop now runs great again.
If you absolutely HATE windows 10......I didn't (until the end) but wasn't thrilled with it......you may still have options to dump it.

I can say that by itself, windows 10 came out a good system. For example, I administer the server to work with a proxy implemented well. And as for other users - that's for them to decide for themselves.

I have started deploying it on new office systems now. New builds, leaving the 7 machines alone
