A lot of people seem to be in love with Candy Boy right now.

A lot can change and it's still early.  About 6 weeks away from the big races.

3/29   Florida Derby and Louisiana Derby
4/5   Wood Memorial and Santa Anita Derby
4/12  Arkansas Derby and Bluegrass

"Candy Boy took four tries to break his maiden but showed real promise when he made a sustained move to the lead in the CashCall Futurity before running second to Shared Belief.

"For a big horse, he has a lot of acceleration," Stevens told HRTV after the race. "We really haven't squeezed the trigger yet. He never took a deep breath. The further the better for him.""

No thanks on candy boy.  You have to go back more tha ten years to find a derby winner that didn't break his maiden against this generation of cluckers by his second race.  In the past 20 years only Sea Hero, Real Quiet and Charismatic won after taking more than three races to break their maiden.  Odds not on his side.

Top Billing would be wager if race were today.  Word is Top Billing has a couple more gears and Shug seemed at home in the winners circle last year.

Gary Stevens(Konk) comeback is one for the ages and is enough to consider Candy Boy lean for Derby 140.  Conquest Titan loves Churchill Downs and shud be able to handle the mile-and-a-quarter.  Calvin Borel is high on Almost Famous but long stretch at CD could prove a little much for the Patrick Byrne trained Dark bay colt.

Interesting that there is no Commissioner talk, 2 wins at 9 furlongs in 3 races. Also beat Top Billing off a 4 month layoff going 9 furlongs. Looking forward to the FOY this weekend it should be a good one

I put $75 on Smart Cover at 75-1.  I think it is a great buy at the price. Put $10 on Cleberne. Not a great buy but one of those...just maybes.

Still looking at a couple others.
