Dude, get 8. It's faster and smarter than every other OS I have used in the past. People that are confused by 8 are retarded. If you are not retarded, get 8. It's the same thing as every other OS, but more stable. All the people that freaked out about the " Start" button missing are idiots. Instead of the Start button there is a note pad looking icon that acts just like the Start button. It's just a different icon, but the same thing. It literally took my an hour to figure out the differences between the 2 OS.

Stick with 7 and let Microsoft continue beta testing it.  If 8 was so damn good then why are they coming out with 8.1 in a few weeks ??

You can still get 7 computers straight from Dell.

Exactly Lippsman.. MSFT finally acknowledged the blunder of designing an OS (Win8) built for a touch interface environment.

I just bought desktop with Win7 few months ago and like the interface much better than Win8.

I prefer 7, I am used to 7 and don't see the reason to switch to less convenient version

My new laptop's default operating system is Windows 8 but a month later I reformat it and switch to Windows 7 because aside that it is laggy, its new features are far more complicated than Windows 7 which is not advisable for the beginners so, I prefer Windows 7.

Do not use window 8, its a failure for normal pc/laptop except you have a touch screen. It was develop for the touch screen tech way back and they thought soon all devices will be, but it did not.
