What is MGM Grand's business practice on comps?

I have stayed at most of the Harrah's and a few MGM properties. When I go the rooms are always comped and I have never had any problems. Well, I received an offer from MGM Grand to stay for three nights in March so I decided to try them out. When I called to book it I was told it was only good for March 27th thru 31st. Furthermore, it was only for one night and I'd have to pay for longer stay. When I questioned this person why does the offer say three nights comped I was told it was "up to three nights and depending on the dates"... needless to say I think it's false advertising and rather bush league.

So for those of you in the know or have had similar experience, is this type of treatment limited only to certain class of customers they deem less worthy or is it part of their general practice?

alot of times those flyers for free rooms are based on availability.  The casino allocates a certain number of rooms for that particular offer code.  Once they are used up they are gone.  It could be that the 2nd and 3rd nights are all taken up and only that first night is available based on that offer at this time.  I know this is common at Harrahs and others.

They might have tightened up lately and it matters which property property you use.  I've always gotten full ride at MGM.  Stayed recently at Aria and they weren't quite as generous.

I'm pretty sure this is the case.  I've received a ton a free 3 night offers from MGM properties.  I have mostly booked well in advance and never had an issue getting all the rooms that were available for the promotion.  Also, make sure that the days that you were booking are part of the promotion.

sounds like they ran out of rooms.  its not like they will comp every room in the hotel if that many ppl redeem the coupon.

foxwoods/mgm is notorious for that, if you call more than 2 days after the mailing is received, good luck getting rooms.
