You will not get the kind of action bovada offers anywhere in Vegas. You can get futures on who to win in majors...and odds are offered for match-ups in majors but not much else from what I've seen. l couldn't even find over/under total games for championship matches in the majors. Westgate offers the most, but as i said, its very limited and pretty much just moneyline offering on match-ups. I have never seen anything like handicaps on match-ups either such as Murray +2 1/2 games against Federer....just moneylines.

They have been good lately with checks...you will get in 7-10 business days. I wouldn't start calling them if you don't get within a week and it looks like nothing is happening...as sometimes I get the check even before receiving their confirmation email that it was sent out...as that usually lags a few days behind. |

I don't see any sizeable conventions on those dates...yet strip hotels are going for $500 a night. Does anyone have an explanation? This would be 2nd weekend of March Madness...do people go there in droves for 2nd weekend as well? Thanks!

Is the grass on these Wimbledon tune-ups pretty similar to the courts at Wimbledon, or do they play slower?

Regarding Aliante, not interested in watching games there, just want to know if they offer anything that a savvy sportsbettor might be able to exploit. I suspect they might be like TI, who is also Indepedent but are very vanilla with poor futures odds...etc. I'm only in Vegas for a few days around Super Bowl time and trying to determine if a trip up there is worth it. I suspect not....but hoping to get some feeback that will make decision easier. |

Is this sportsbook worth taking the drive to see? I see that they are indepedent...do they offer anything interesting, or are they like the TI on the strip who I believe are pretty vanilla with low limits and not much variety. Thanks!

I don't hang in this forum frequently enough to know if "wiseguys" ever post here, but I know there are a handful that post across the street at the site connected to the Betislands fiasco. At least they used to, but that site seems to be dead in recent months. I know the "M" and affiliates have the highest limits, but they get a very small percentage of my action as they either do not offer what I bet into or I find better prices elsewhere. I believe the strict totals you are referring to in most Vegas books for CFA totals is $1k...correct? I would be surprised if they were any lower than that. |

Maybe a few hundred a game and usually late at night and they always check with the manager and these are small bets.if you want to get drunk off a $20 parlay you put in on a constant basis then tip the writer other then that just start tipping the guy sweeping the floors it will have the same effect. "Heavy" to me is when plays are made and the the writer says "Key" and then a Supervisor walks over and makes a decision on wether or not to take my action. The point of my original post is this....my action is "heavy" and the sportsbooks don't exactly roll out the red carpet when they see me coming. Naturally, I would like good relationships going forward with the sportsbooks I play at and just wanted to make sure I am not committing a Vegas Sportsbook Faux Pas by not tipping ticket writers. It appears that most are NOT in the habit of tipping the ticket writers, but I get the impression that most who have answered are recreational players. |

I want to bet heavy at sportsbooks and I want them to take my action. It won't help my cause if I'm known as the "person" who never tips on his winning tickets. This is not about hurt feelings and wondering why nobody likes me. I'm simply trying to learn what is customary regarding tips with the ticket writers.

I make several trips to Vegas a year, and when making plays usually pay with winning tickets from my last trip so as to not have to carry around huge wads of cash on my person. For example, if I have a 4k winning Super Bowl ticket, I will hold and then make 4 baseball plays for 1k each during a trip the following April. My question...should I be tipping the ticket guys anything when I do these transactions? I've noticed over the years that most ticket writers are not real friendly to me, and they often same annoyed by my presence. I wonder if my lack of tipping may be the reason behind it. I often have quite a few large cashers and could hit the same guy several times in a one hour period. Seems the more I go up there the greater their annoyance. If it's not the tipping, could it be jealousy that I am putting so much $$$$ into play? Thanks! |

Already submitted to SBR.....they agreed with the book!! That's the most puzzling aspect of the situation...you can understand a book making an error from time to time (perhaps they don't have a lot of exerience with grading golf wagers), but when a watchdog site has 10 days to look at a complaint with overwhelming evidence and they still side with the book...really weird. Always thought they were pretty sharp there. Also thought the book was solid until this ordeal. Most communciations with book were via e-mail...when I called they said I needed to do a chat with a guy named Jon. Tried chat but he was never in. Finally gave up and submitted to SBR. |
