Pirates are favored for having the best home record in MLB and with or without Puig and Ramirez are the better of the two teams when Kershaw is not pitching.

Easy game to pick for the Pirates last night since they are the superior team in this matchup...
Today, even with how good Felix is he is facing Burnett ...the much better Pirates lineup will scratch out another victory.

Can't bet on the Cubs when the Pirates have had their number for years now and are a far better team.

JimmyTarHeel --
I enjoy reading your picks each day... I do just want to point out that Duquesne is located in Pittsburgh as well and the game is played at the ConSol Energy Center (home of the NHL Penguins) so there is no "home team" but your evaluation of the game should be right. Keep up the good work. Quote Originally Posted by JimmyTarHeel:

Temple -2 I love temple this year. Loads of experience and scoring balance. I've seen Villanova play this year and wasn't impressed. Gonzaga -11 Gonzaga is legit. Wazzu is really down this year and have one good player that probably wouldn't start for the zags. Dayton +10 Steele out for Tide, Dayton rolled them last year and even though revenge factor looms, ill take DD's all day. Should be a close game. Maybe more tomorrow.... GL all |

Value in the over if the Pirates can hit for 6 or 7 runs themselves...otherwise great value in the Bucs on the way to a four-game sweep.

Have to take Pitt -- better pitcher, better hitters and better team!

Pittsburgh's Tribune-Review has reported that McCutchen will be in the lineup tonight so should be the 1st of at least 3 of 4 over the Astros...

Feel bad you are going to lose all that $$...Pirates are the better team overall and on their way to continuing to win series after series..

The Pirates will continue to be the better team in the state...took 2 of 3 to begin the year and should be at least 3 of 4 in this series as well...Can't believe someone would say Blanton would shut down the Pirates -- heck Karstens is better than Blanton even coming off the DL...until the Phils get Utley and Howard back they will continue to be inferior -- oh wait being the lesser side of the state doesn't stop with that but anyways the Philly offense would at least be a bit better then.

Pirates get even an average start from Lincoln and it will be a repeat of yesterday as they just have plainly the better team...

Pirates take their 6th straight series starting tonight as Correia is working far better than Arrieta as is the team overall.
