It amazes me that folks don’t realize the depth Purdue has. They only see the dominance of UConn vs teams that lacks what Purdue has….phycial bigs….
Northwestern…no big SD State…6’9 LeDee had a solid performance…18pts, 8 boards…imagine what 7’4 Edey will do. Illinois…6’10 225 Hawkins….not phycsical enough, and Dainja is limited offensively. Bama…zero true big.

@vinny36 Disagree, but thanks. I think Tennessee could have beaten UConn. |

A bit off topic…just checked out Washington University, and I was impressed to the max. Great open campus environment, restaurants, building architecture. I’ve visited several campuses on the Pacific side, and UW hands down is #1 on my list. |

Purdue Boilermakers +6.5 (LARGE) Purdue Boilermakers ML (sm)
Why Purdue? Uconn has been untouchable in the tourney. Most blowouts has been due to teams unable to guard Clingan and grab defensive boards (SD State, Illinois). I thought Bama did a great job attacking the rim, and making UConn play on its heels. The X factor was Defense and Bama plays none! Purdue for the LARGE

IMO, this game won’t be close….have it closer to -7.5…. DD victory for SC is how I’m reading this game. |

South Carolina -6.5 (2U) Clark is the GOAT, but I’m riding with Dawn Staley’s game planning. She’s way too great of coach to lose b2b undefeated seasons. She was in the stands watching that UConn/Iowa game, and I can tell with just her smile that she’s prepared for this game. fill em’ |

@Petyr_Baelish Bama anything +10 for a small play has value. |

Early, but 1st 5 minutes shows you the difference with how NC State skated playing teams with zero physical bigs. |

I’m taking a small nibble @ Bama +11.5 Why? As we know, game is in Glendale, AZ. Uconn is playing far from home unlike the last 4 in NY & Boston. Alabama has played 4 west coast games…Spokane & Los Angeles. Alabama avgs 90 pts ppg. Lowest they’ve scored in 72 all season. They’ll be able put up points. DD dog is working in your favor imo. Illinois plan was working in the 1H, but 2H adjustments were horrible and Hurley executed. If Bama doesn’t learn from what Illinois did, and lose in a blowout, then their coach s/b fired. Bama 1 week to game plan and west coast game is where my $ is. |

@CALB It’s not happening. Edey hasn’t fouled out all season and avg’s 2 fouls p/ game in the tourney. |

Purdue -9 (LARGE) NC State hasn’t faced a team with a physical big in the paint… Texas Tech- C Washington was out most of the season, and played sparingly vs NCST. Oakland - Townsend is 6’6 and scored 30pts, grabbed 13 boards, and 9 assist. If a 6’6 guy did what he did in the paint, imagine what 7’4 300lbs Edey would do. Marquette and Duke - Marquette’s Ighodaro and Duke’s Filipowski are not physical bigs…in fact they’re prob the 2 least effective bigs in the tourney going against more physical bigs. Proof in the pudding…Ighodaro was 2/6 with 6 pts, and Flip was 3/12 for 11pts….5/18 shooting shows how NC State got through to these 2 good teams w/o a true Center. Purdue ROLLS Fill em’. |

UConn starting 3 guards are 2-18 FG and 0-7 from deep, and they’re up by this much. I hate how good this team is. |

Just a quick note: I just read one sportsbook, that ticket & $ count are 80%-90% on UConn. This a great news for State backers |

@namethegame No doubt, solid players on NC…especially the 1 & 5 spots. What worries me the most about NC Coach Davis. Defensively they struggle to put away teams that score, and we all know what Bama can do…score. |

@Mananddogs
Love the feedback…we’re alligned in many points with this game… IMO, UConn’s specialty of getting ahead are 3pts and off ball picks/cutting to the basket buckets Aztecs are the best 3pt defending team the tourney. I see absolutely no advantage with UConn facing State in this matchup with a 1/2 court game. Comfortable with the points, and ML. |

@Grinder360 Why Creighton? I’m going with the better coach in McDermott if he can’t come up with a game plan to guard just 1 player, he’s failed miserably. I also have said in the past that Tennessee’s bigs are the achilees heel of this team. Love the +3 |

@Grinder360 One thing with the Yale/State pick was I didn’t see who State was playing next. I also didn’t think State was able to knock down 3s…one of the worst in tourney….but they did. Also, Thurs/Friday games were my best days because I studied the hell out of the matchups…for almost 3 weeks! Sat/Sun are much tougher to study for and because the turnaround to watch tape & look at everything is much shorter time period. Lesson learned for sure. |

I just watched LY’s championship game and UCONN 2 key players in Sanoga and Hawkins were the difference maker. State was within 5 with about 7 minutes left, until Uconn made a late run. Watched LeDee, and he played pretty sound vs Clingan…and I fell this years LeDee is playing with a TON of more swagger. Clingans backup Johnson will also be outmatched imo. Key presence will be key and I love how this Aztecs team is built going in a game close to UConns campus. |

@Grinder360 I agree. Often times when I don’t have a chance to research, but I do listen to the loud mouths in the Sportsbook. True story, it was 2020 when I wanted action on a late night game with Oregon St vs Oklahoma State…had no read on either team until loud guy sitting next me was so confident that Cunningham was the best player on the nation and that there was no way OKST would lose. I went ML on the Beavs @ around +250 and they won SU. I really try not to read too much with the mush bettors, but yes I do agree, the energy from them does impact which side to bet. |

Im not believer in this UConn team…and I’ve been thinking this for a while. LYs team was more athletic, and guards were more gifted at shooting/driving to the basket….they were way deep in talent! SD State’s 1/2/3 spots are much quicker, and will give UConn’s backcourt fits kmo. Theirs not very deep, and defensive focus should be easier. Close game throughout and State pulls through the last 5 minutes and advance.
