and I agree with AJMay. More like a shove with the stick and over-reaction by the refs.to the injury. Pavelski fell and hit his head more because Stastny also hit him when he was going down and he couldn't brace himself

That's how the NHL works - guys get suspended for longer, and even a high stick that draws blood is 2x the penalty than one that doesn't.

As for the fall, well, he wouldn't have hit his head if it weren't for the crosscheck - if you're calling that a "push" then you've got some bias working in.

I mean, why not just say that Foegele only crosschecked Oshie from behind, it wasn't his fault that he crashed into the boards and broke his collarbone.

think you got your number mixed up here - Canes at -130 to win in regulation?

Barca suck on the road in CL...Shut out 7 times in last three years, dropping points 10/15 times. Scored 1 goal or less 12 times iirc

Good luck

I get that this was never going to be a likely win, or even a possible win, but ffs if you've got cameras and a system set in place to overturn poor calls - or just calls too hard to catch in real time - and you don't use it, why even have it.

Hard enough to stay within the number without non-existent penaltys being given.  Say it was a dumb challenge if you want but last I checked, dumb challenges weren't worthy of a penalty unless it actually broke the rules.

A couple things to note about Lyon - one, they didn't have Fekir for the first leg and if you're in the play better defense by having a better offense camp then it's a big plus.

The other thing is I don't think they laid off Messi near as much in the first 60 minutes of the game as they did in the last 30.  Barcelona will almost definitely win this game, but would they win it 10 out of 10 like the odds suggest?  I don't think so.

1-2-1 last time out....for -1.13u

Took +1.75 many moons ago* and it looks as though I should have waited for the +2 - I don't want to spend too much time writing about this, because the reality is Barcelona is wildly more talented, and they don't lose, or even draw very often, at home, but here goes. (edit: I spent a lot of time on this which is dumb because Barca probably wins 5-0)

Obviously, Camp Nou is a much different animal than just about any other place and certainly Lyon benefited from the home advantage especially given Barcelona's struggles on the road over the years - they have truly been an average team on the road at best in Champions League play for the last three, even four seasons.

On the other hand Barcelona have been an absolute juggernaut at home - losing only once in their last million games and drawing just seven.  It's almost impossible to score on them or stop them from scoring.

Lyon is an extremely talented team that's not Barcelona, but they've had some nice results this year beating Man City in England and PSG at home.  They've also lost to Monaco, Nice 2X and Rennes at home.  In Europe, however over the last couple of years they've had some nice results on the road.  They've beaten Man City, Villareal, Everton, drew Juventus, advanced on penalty's vs Besiktas, got 5 points from three matches this year's CL.

The first leg was more even than people are probably given credit for with Lyon forcing Stegen to save a shot then still hit the crossbar, and Messi had a couple of chances early as wel but Denayer kind of followed him whereever he went and frustrated him.  Lyon was also missing their best offensive player in Fekir and he'll be out there today. Possession was almost even in the first half, though it was a bit more skewed in the 2nd - who ever wins the possession battle vs. Barca?

Barcelona is also oooollldddd, and they're easily the oldest team of the eight (aside from Madrid) in the KO stage.  5 players over 30 and another will be 30 next week of their starters in the first leg all of whom have played a LOT of soccer over the last couple of weeks, months and years whereas Lyon has one player over the age of 26.  We saw a younger hungrier team absolutely destroy an admittedly underperforming but still insanely talented Real squad.  In soccer, youth and speed kills and Lyon has the advantage in the former, and plenty of the latter.  Some people don't think age is a factor in professional sports and everyone has a right to their opinion.  Obviously, no one in red and blue is carrying around an oxygen bottle, but guys on the other side of 30 in this game (and hockey) really drop off quickly.

For giggles, I'm going to add +1/2 +346 which almost mean Lyon advances but not at 0-0 so I think.  I'm going to sprinkle a 1/4* on the ML at +1175 - Barcelona has to lose at some point at home, right?

2*+1.75 -112

Just thinking about our old friend Franz these days and his laments of the lack of integrity in this forum...Despite the cowardly insults and attempts at distorting my record here, I'm +2.4u since February 24th which is as far back as I feel like going.  Coming from someone who had 0-10 and 2-11 in the last 7 days, and 16-25  for the month of March, calling me a loser is pretty illustrative of the mental acuity we're dealing with here. You can't actually keep track of his plays because some are "big" so he can always just say, "I hit my big ones" and that's how the scammers and liars and those with no integrity try to fool you.

I've never claimed to be a great, or even good capper and really do this for fun and enjoy the back and forth with a few posters.  But as the saying goes, never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience (and clearly, and obviously, without any hint of an original thought or any clue that one will be coming soon).

Just three plays but I might add more.

Inter u1.5 +283

Sometimes the scoring dies when one team gets this far ahead - let's hope the Flyers have some pride.

LOL, my ManU future for 3* and +160 wins (which I did post here)

PSG too concerned with playing pretty than winning - Lukaku should be first choice from now on - some players just step up in the spotlight.

This is more of an attacking lineup than they had in the hallway leg and if Manchester United couldn’t string together three passes in front of 55,000 of their closest friends I’m not sure how they’re going to do it at Parc des Princes.
