Mathematically if you are right and you picked the game right and it has the best chance to win, it's a no brainer.  If you think it has a 75% chance of winning, and the rest are under 75%, then why do it differently.

The hardest thing is waiting and not chasing or overconfidence

Never said anything about betting one game or ten games. Why limit yourself to the Alabama/Clemson game? If you don't at least look at all the match ups, you'll never know if you like another game better. Alabama might win and they might not.....a solid case can be made for Clemson as well. I think there are softer spots.

i'm wondering if people here see appalachian state toledo and spend their time and saturday night on watching it figuring out the game basically the day of the game.  like i said been there done that those days are over i wish i had that youth and time again.

I'd think that most people who bet all season look at every bowl game to see if something "sticks out" to them. Different strokes....

At least we need you for the regular cash transfer and for that, we all thank you.

Everybody in this forum picks every bowl game. Few bet all their picks.

Anderson passed a polygraph test yesterday. He has not been suspended from the university nor the football team.

I don't think he is that good of a QB but he does 2 things very very well. He doesn't turn the ball over and he runs like a running back. If they contain him then they win. There is almost no threat of a downfield passing game with him at QB. They would be so much more effective with the young kid from Hawaii at QB in my opinion but it is hard to bench Hurts. I think Clemson has the best chance to win it all but I have to admit that I want to see Oklahoma do it this year. Their defense is just so iffy but they seem to hold up ok against teams that don't throw it 50 times a game. Mayfield is a jerk, but he is a gamer and fun to watch.

He's a better version than Manziel. If they pull it off, he'll go down as one of the alltimers.

I'm anxious to see how Mayfield matches up vs. any of the three remaining defenses. Word is that OU thinks their offensive line is the absolute best in the country and that they can score 40 on anybody. Problem is, they can give up 50 against guys who can throw. That being said, the lines say that both games should be competitive.

I wonder if it would have mattered if Ohio State kicked the $hit out of Wisconsin, or if they were eliminated before the game was even played.

They also defeated two other top 25 teams, so yes they deserved to go in over Ohio State who lost to IOWA and Oklahoma, bad.

Right now, Alabama has the best defense in the nation, one of the best defensive players in the nation in Minka Fitzpatrick,  a QB who just wins, and has been to the National Championship, and has big game come from behind experience. Not to mention 3 of the best running backs in the nation as well.

Now, will Daboll utilize those RBs this time like he did not do against Auburn? We will see...

Will Pruitt all out blitz on 3rd and long? We will see, but I doubt it seeing as how for the first time this season we will have all our LBs healthy.

I predict a close game with Clemson, but Alabama pulling away convincingly in the 4th.

Alabama has beaten nobody, and this is probably Saban's worst team in years. They've lost games before, but the beatdown Auburn put on them a couple of weeks ago is telling. They were physically whipped on both sides of the ball, and that just never happens. Clemson has the better defense and wins a tight but much lower scoring game than last year.

Clemson and Bama are going to kick the $hit out of each other....OU gets a break by getting Georgia in the Rose Bowl (instead of Sugar). Mayfield will do his Deshawn Watson imitation and hoist the trophy.

There are no great QB's in the SEC. OU will make this freshman beat them.....I don't think he can.

Committee is big on conference champs. If Ohio State blows Wisky out, Ohio State will get in. If they win a tight game, it's a coin toss. Bama didn't even win a division of their conference...if that team wore purple instead of Crimson, they'd have no chance to get in. Weak resume.

Ohio State might get in if they hammer Wisconsin. Bama didn't even win a division of their conference, and their resume is weak. The committee is supposed to give weight to conference champions. Alabama isn't nearly the team they've been the past several years.

1. Clemson (easiest choice ever, only now others are seeing)
2. Alabama (very good squad still)
3. Ok State (what an offense)
4. Oklahoma (good but still not convinced they are great)
5. Penn St. (doing what they are supposed to do with bad teams)
6. Washington (not impressed thus far)
7. USC (not impressed overall and think a loss will be looming)
8. Wisconsin (are what they are, just typical Badger ball)
9. Miss St. (new edition, how can you deny this team after that)
10. Oregon (new edition, nothing to do with beating Wyoming)

close but no cigar
Georgia - will see what they are made of soon
Michigan - win over Florida not looking great now
Ohio St - can't stop good QB's from throwing (ok, okst, miss st, oreg)
Florida St. - not sure how good new QB will be
Va Tech - lacking a bit on defense now that they sped their offense up, many will point to Bud Foster but Bud looked great when they were playing slowish Beamer ball

NO team with a hurry up tempo can possibly have a GREAT defense, it doesn't work that way

You, along with BA, are my favorite "no-nonsense, no bull$hit" guys on this forum. Don't sleep on OU this season......they've got a toughness about them that's been missing for many years. I would love to see them get a shot at an Alabama or Clemson this year. Their offensive and defensive lines manhandled their counterparts from Ohio State a couple of weeks ago, and a quarterback like Mayfield is the only type of QB (ala Johnny Football) who could balance the talent edge that the big 2 have. Best of luck!

So IMO to think Epicharis can get to Belmont a week out and be ready to fire big enough to win under a jockey who knows nothing of the track and will likely only have 1 mount that day is an awful big ask. But you're not the only person I've seen with this opinion so GL to you on you're wagers.

I personally like Meantime and Tapwrit, will likely also use Gormley and IWC in my P4s. IWC is a total puzzle instead of trying to figure I'll likely just use him

I know that these horses are historically bad wagers......I wish they had gotten a Belmont jock to ride him for certain. I've got friends in London who said Thunder Snow was bet by several quality punters before his Derby debacle......their reasoning that this was a subpar crop of American 3 y.o.'s......you mentioned that he came back to lose his next race.....it was a good 2nd behind Churchill (one of the best 3 yo's in Europe) in the Guineas......and it was at least 5 lengths back to the 3rd horse. That all being said, the price has got to be right. Will wait to see how he takes to the surface. Great card at Belmont on Saturday. Best of luck.

I feel a little "nuts" for going here....but....how's this logic? The Japanese ship and run well all over the world.......except the US thus far. At some point in time, they will win one of these races. This is a better horse than Lani.......has probably more tactical speed than any foreign horse that's tried this. Mile and a half races are the goal in Japan, so this colt appears to have been pointed to this race for some time. I can see this one laying close......really close to the lead and the breeding will take over at the eighth pole. This is the time to try it, cause I see this crop of 3 yo's as ordinary. I'll be using him with Tapwrit and Irish War Cry. Thoughts?

He's probably this year's Verrazano. Breeding is suspect for 10 panels, and he has to deal with the curse of Apollo. Looks like a weak crop, but if he wins it will be without my backing.
