By-product of the "career over family" movement that is keeping the population from growing(without migration).

Good point. I always prioritize faith, family, finance in that order. It's amazing how many times a family member or friend will blow you off because they have to work. Americans in particular are at the top of the work hours per year, but very middling in overall productivity. It's because we've been pressured to believe the only way to get ahead is to outwork the competition. Unfortunately, that comes with consequences.

I've heard that narrative since I was growing up in the 80's. It's one of the highest participation sports among children in the USA, but also has the highest dropout rate. I've always thought a sport which doesn't allow you to utilize your hands was unnatural.

Yah...that I think is true. To get a lifetime loyal baseball fan they pretty much need to be interested in baseball when they are young. What % of Floridians are lifetime US citizens?

Baseball is booming in the Caribbean. People complain that the sport doesn't have enough black players, but it is loaded with Hispanics.

What percentage of the USA are lifetime citizens? What percentage of the USA are actual natives of this country? Unless you can trace your ancestry to indigenous tribes, don't even bother answering. You, like me are an immigrant.

The Stetson Hatters from nearby Deland FL. Directly east we would have the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. To the north the Flagler Saints.

My favorite obscure college nickname would have to be the Bethany Terrible Swedes from Lindsborg, Kansas.

The sport which you pay the most attention to. Ignore the noise on games which you don't watch or understand. Better to be an expert on something small than clueless in the big picture.

I'll take Boston +105 tonite to cover the initial investment and possibly double dip for a huge payday.
I can't stand this drawn out format in the NHL and NBA.  You are playing 2 games in the same city.  Why in the hell do you need a day break in between and why the hell a 3 game  with travel. They don't use freaking trains anymore.Used to play back to back without a problem

That made me laugh out loud. an_roll_laugh

Thank You for everything you do in this forum. You are a gem. peace_5

Strict homosexuality by it's very own nature is genocidal behavior. I fully accept those for who they are or want to be, but will never consider it normal.

I'm glad someone else remembers the infamous neutral zone trap. Coach Jacques Lemaire had misguided brilliance. Brilliant because it worked under the rules back then, misguided because it sucked the life right out of the game at the time.

Agreed and I made a post about it for game 4 when the number was 5. The analytics are coming up under all over, but they have been bucking the odds. Maybe tonite the 2-1, 3-1 game comes in especially with Boston looking to help their injured blue line more than usual.

Game total Under 5 +127. Maybe it pushes, but I don't see either team scoring more than 3.

1P Under 1.5 (145) Big juice on the under here, but I believe it's warranted. Just play it and hope for the best result.

Thank you for the clarification, AJ.

In these same circumstances (STL home/Boston away) we also see that the 1st period under 1.5 has some merit as well. The 2 teams have played to the 1P under 11 of 18 times. Nothing earth shattering, but again a reason to consider the under of some sort in a hugely important game for both teams. Somebody will win a 2-1 or 3-1 game.

It wasn't too long ago when Vin Mazzaro was charged with 14 runs in that exact amount of time (2 1/3 innings)

Corbin was in a bad spot tonite.

On tonite's total. The first 2 games were set at 5.5. Game 1 went over and Game 2 should have went over after 4 1st period goals.

Knowing this, we have a total of 5 even tonite, not the expected 5.5.

Why? Here's why. I'll simply use 5 as the common total and ignore the actual line which was never below that number.

Playoffs STL at home O/U = 4-5-1 Boston on road O/U = 2-6

Do what you will but realize that 12 of 18 games in this situation did not exceed 5 goals. The under 5 would have been 11-6-1.

Happy days to all puck

The Caribbean and South American countries care about baseball. As far as baseball being the least popular sport in USA, you're dead wrong. Only football draws more fans. So it's an undisputed #2. Cricket is an international version of how not to attract an audience. Let's watch a marathon instead.
