Hawky

it's just over half over...

To be honest, I think my mind 'slipped a gear' somehow (you were correct, but I had some 'weird' idea it was close to over-when it actually had 2 months left :-)
The stress of life, I think.

Congrats to the Winners, a person does deserve it if they win this!

This game reminds me for some reason of what the philosopher Alan Watts says about our 'conscious mind':

It has nothing to do with what happens in the world
(And all one can go on is 'stats' in this case, and the stats indicated a closer game. Denver had won 12 str at home, 3/4 vs GS @ home, also had a same overall record).
Not surprised GS won, but am surprised this is such a 'beatdown' :-)

I didn't think I'd win this since long ago :-)

But I did achieve one of the best individual records I've ever had in any sport in any contest:

20-1-2 in the NFL.

So always look for the positive, I guess (I do seem to have figured out the NFL, just a little :-)

True. Didn't mean to sound negative :-)

I can just tell when my 'run' is starting to fade a little (I never give up, so don't mistake it for that!).

Weird how it goes, but I'm a 'streaky' type bettor, and have (thankfully) figured it out a little

(like today. I won on actual money (had Oregon and Northwestern, amongst others. But somehow managed to go 0-4 in this contest today :-)

I like these type contests a lot though, and would like to see more!

Looks like the guys at the top got this. And they deserve it, they have strung together some nice wins!
I think I did the best I could, just not quite good enough to overcome!

Thanks, Covers and Fanduel, it is a fun contest!

Weirdly enough, I'm undefeated in the NFL in this contest (13-0-2).
Don't ask me why couldn't tell ya :-)
Only thing I will say is I'm a (slightly) better handicapper than I was like 20 years ago or whatever when I started here on Wagerline :-)

Tough competition on here, so makes it interesting! :-)

(More than the money-which is nice, don't get me wrong-I think just finally winning a Title in all my years with Covers would be cool.cool

CFL / Manziel / View Post

I have to admit, I myself drank the 'Manziel' kool-aid, even after discovering that Hamilton had blown them out in 4 str @ Mont, Mont had the worst defense in CFL, etc. So, guess it shows you, even at my age you can get into a gullible type situation ( it seemed like the bookies were fishing, and 'Johnny Football' was the lure). Also, this was just a terrible game to be on ESPN, in a way (guess you can't put all the blame on Johnny: this team is terrible!).

Well, maybe not totally fade out. There will always be a percentage of people who prefer this method, and one of the replacements coming down the pipe is actually a re-implementation of an online book, but with a twist!

The first reason is that the Crypto Community is now in the development of a 'blockchain' implementation/standard that will allow one to hold their own funds in their own wallet, and be paid instantly upon completion (the bets are actually held in a sort of 'escrow' in the blockchain and released when event is final).

The other reason I believe this is because I was down at the local 'Hollywood Casino'-where incidentally a GM plant used to be-and a manager there mentioned that there was a bill in the Ohio House to legalize sports gambling-possibly still a year or two off, but it's definitely coming now by all indications!

So, as that fanous Yankees announcer says, "See ya" :-)

Well, considering I did like 4 thousand days in totality-who the hell is counting at that point-I guess I've outdid you some, unfortunately for me. Oh well, all in the distant past thank God :-)

Just wanted to thank LeBron for bringing at least 1 title of some kind to Cleveland while he was here. He truly is a great player, and is a one-of-a-kind we may not see again, as the NBA is not what it used to be. But he deserves to be mentioned alongside names like Jordan, Chamberlain, Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. he's definitely probably the greatest athlete ever from the Great State of Ohio!

Guess I'm done with rollovers-I shouldn't have went for the ones I did.But this last situation has made me want to be done with online sportsbooks period. Guess they've gotten enough of my money :-)

'The Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law on Monday that effectively banned commercial sports betting in most states, opening the door to legalizing the estimated $150 billion in illegal wagers on professional and amateur sports that Americans make every year.'

This paves the way for full legal sportsbetting across the US! And thank God, because these 'overseas' sportsbooks suck, no matter how good the rating:

Case in point, I've been using Bookmaker since it was called BetCris, which is a while back. They have an A+ rating or whatever, and I've generally always been pleased with their service-even though I've lost a lot there.
Anyway, while back they had a deposit special, where you deposit 500 or whatever, and there is some insane roll-over like 10,000(which I probably wouldn't have done had I realized the details). So I play a while, and lose all this, leaving a 8,000 roll or something.
After I lose that, I dep another 500.00.This time, I don't ask for any bonus or anything. But I notice, day-after-day, the rollover is there, and slowly decreasing. So I sent an email and explained everything, and their response:

'> Thank you for choosing Bookmaker!

> After going over your account, you still have rollover pending. The last

So make sense of that. It's still there, guess they're going to make me 'roll-over' like a puppy dog

And my point in saying all this is that no matter how good there books are, they play games. They even may know that crap like this upsets me, so thank God things are changing!

I like Boston as well, but Sale is 2-7 vs. Det on road (all with White Sox), and Verlander is like 4-2 at home vs Boston, so that could be a factor.
However, Boston seems to have a much better bull-pen, so if it comes to that in the late innings....

I recently learned that most of these off-shore books look at Americans like fools. Most of the people working at these places don't make all that much (CSR's), so I guess it's understandable. When idiots are dropping thousands on games, and they're barely getting by, probably seems that way.
Which is one more reason sports gambling in the USA should be legal. Why deal with people who secretly despise us? The apparatus should be in place to do this. I have a Hollywood casino right down the street, as well as the Ohio lottery, but yet can't bet on a sporting event. Ridiculous!
