The No. 22 Indiana Hoosiers travel to Xfinity Center in Maryland to take on the Terrapins in NCAA Men's basketball action. Indiana is 12-3 while Maryland is 13-3 and  although the Hoosiers are ranked, Maryland goes into this game as 6-point home favorites. We break down the best ways to wager on this Big Ten battle.

Indiana Hoosiers vs Maryland Terrapins (-6, 143)

Quick Hitter

The Terrapins are riding a four game winning streak, including two big wins on the road against Minnesota and Rutgers. That streak also included a two-point victory at home against a Nebraska Cornhuskers that was ranked at the time.

Nonetheless, many of Maryland's recent games have exposed a weakness: slow starts. They trailed early against Minnesota (falling behind 8-15), Rutgers (7-13), Seton Hall (3-14) Nebraska (20-25) and even Radford (10-19).

Indiana is coming off a 9-point loss to No. 2 Michigan but finished the game on an 11-8 run while the Wolverines still had their starters on the court. That should allow them to enter this game with some confidence and hit the 20-point mark first.

Prediction: Race to 20 - Indiana (+145)

First Half Bet

While Maryland is an impressive 4-1 in conference play, they trailed at halftime in three of those five contests. Like we already mentioned, Maryland has a bad habit of digging themselves into holes early and they might not be able to dig themselves out by half. Take Indiana on the first half moneyline for a tidy pay out.

Prediction: 1H moneyline - Indiana (+153)

Team/Player Prop

Maryland has given up 21 free throw attempts per game over their last three contests, which is great news for Hoosiers freshman sensation Romeo Langford. Langford, who is leading Indiana in scoring with 18.2 points per game, knows how to get to the line averaging 6.8 free throw attempts per contest.

Earlier this season Maryland limited Purdue scoring-machine Carsen Edwards to 4-15 shooting from the field but he still contributed 20 points because they gave him nine shots from the charity stripe. Expect Langford and company to be aggressive in this one, and do a better job of converting free throws than Minnesota did when the Gophers went 9 for 23 against the Terrapins. That should help the Hoosiers go Over on their first half point total of 32.

Prediction: First half Indiana points - Over 32 (-116)

Full Game Total

Indiana is second in the country in shooting with 51.9 percent, but that number plummets to 44.2 percent away from home. Both of these teams are known for their strong defense with Indiana holding opponents to 64.7 points per game on 40.8 percent shooting, while Maryland allows 65.6 ppg on 40.5 percent shooting.

Indiana is 9-2-1 to the Under in their last 12 road games and 17-6-1 to the Under in their previous 24 contests with Big 12 opponents. The Under has also land in four of the last five matchups between these two school. Those trends should continue here so lean towards the Under.

Prediction: Under 143 (-110)

Full Game Side

Both teams have played a common opponent in the mediocre Penn State Nittany Lions (7-9) and both sides failed to impress. Maryland won by seven points at home but trailed at half, while Indiana squeaked out a 2-point victory on the road.

While it's easy to take a glance at the Hoosiers 1-3 road record and overlook them in this one, digging deeper tells a slightly different story. Two of those road losses were against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country in Duke and Michigan and the other was by a single point.

Maryland is also 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games at the Xfinity Center, so home court advantage might be a bit overrated in this one. Take Indiana to at least keep this one close and cover the 6-point spread.

Prediction: Indiana +6 (-110)
