Golf betting continues in the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn. Round 4 is Sunday at TPC River Highlands, where a long shot is atop the leaderboard and an established star is right behind in second.

The SuperBook at Westgate's Derek Wilkinson talked Travelers Championship betting post-Round 3, including sharp bets and public play heading into Sunday's fourth and final round.

Travelers Championship Round 4 odds and betting

Brendon Todd could be had at 200/1 on the Travelers Championship odds board before Thursday's opening round. Now, he's the +175 favorite at The SuperBook after a stellar 9-under 61 in Saturday's third round gave him an 18-under 192 total and a two-stroke lead. Dustin Johnson also shot a torrid 61 to stand second at 194, and he's the 2/1 second choice to win Sunday.

Despite three tickets at 200/1 on the unexpected leader – at $25 to win $5,000, $23 to win $4,600 and $10 to win $2,000 – Todd winning is not an issue for The SuperBook.

"We do really well on Brendon Todd, Kevin Streelman and Mackenzie Hughes," Wilkinson said. Streelman is the 8/1 third choice after a 63 put him in third at 15-under 195, and Hughes – who fired an opening-round 60 – is four strokes back at 196 and listed at 25/1.

"We've gotten some action on Hughes, Streelman and Rory McIlroy," Wilkinson said of money that came in after The SuperBook updated odds went up Saturday afternoon. McIlroy is 80/1, sitting eight shots back at 10-under 200.

Wilkinson said a few golfers remain problematic behind the counter.

"We lose big on Bryson DeChambeau and the Mick," Wilkinson said, referring to Phil Mickelson, who cooled off significanty Saturday with a 1-over 71, six shots off the lead, and is now 40/1. "It's also a significant loss on Abraham Ancer."

Ancer (30/1) joined Mickelson and three others at 12-under 198.

In the prop bets market, The SuperBook is looking at a win on the Over/Under winning score of 259.5. Pre-tournament money came in on the Over, but with the scores this week, ithe Under would be no surprise at this point.

Travelers Championship Round 3 odds and betting

Mickelson followed his opening 6-under 64 with a sterling 63 Friday to move to 13-under 127, prompting The SuperBook to make him the +450 co-favorite Friday night. Rory McIlroy shot 68 and is four strokes back at 131, but he's also at +450, followed by Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau at 8/1. Schauffele is tied for fourth at 131, and DeChambeau is in a large pack at 132.

"Mickelson would be very bad for us. We also lose on DeChambeau," Wilkinson said, noting the always-popular Mickelson was +20,000 pre-tournament. "We do pretty well on everybody else near the top. Will Gordon and Mackenzie Hughes are really good, and Schauffele is a big win."

Hughes, who shot a torrid 60 in Round 1, came back down to earth a bit with a second-round 68 and is one shot back in a tie for second with Gordon, who fired a 62 Friday.

After The SuperBook's updated odds posted Friday night, Wilkinson said a "decent bet" came in at +5,000 on Brendan Steele, who also shot 62 and is in the group at 131. In addition, bets landed on McIlroy, Gordon at +2,500 and Joaquin Niemann at +6,000. However, Niemann is seven shots back at 134, tied for 26th.

Travelers Championship Round 2 odds and betting

Relative unknown Canadian Mackenzie Hughes shot a scorching 10-under 60 in Thursday's opening round, which vaulted him from +30,000 to the +2,000 co-fifth choice at The SuperBook. World No. 1 Rory McIlroy is now the +350 favorite after shooting 7-under 63 to stand tied for second with Xander Schauffele (+600) and Viktor Hovland (+1,000).

"Hughes, McIlroy and Hovland would be good for us," Wilkinson said. "Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau would be bad for us."

The always-popular Mickelson shot 64, as did Garcia, and pre-tournament favorite DeChambeau shot 66. Those three are now at +3,000, +2,000 and +700, respectively. Wilkinson said a few players drew action shortly after the updated odds posted Thursday night.

"We’ve seen some action on Louis Oosthuizen 30/1, Marc Leishman 50/1, DeChambeau 7/1 and Hovland 10/1," Wilkinson said. Oosthuizen is part of the pack at 64, and Leishman is at 66.

In Travelers Championship prop bet markets, Wilkinson said The SuperBook needs the Under on the winning score of 259.5, as most money came in on the Over. Also: "We do not want Dustin Johnson to finish in the Top 5."

That's not an issue early, as Johnson's opening-round 69 put him in a tie for 79th. DJ is now +8,000 to win the tournament.

Who are people betting to win the Travelers Championship?

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Eight hours before the first group tees off, Travelers Championship odds are heating up at William Hill US. Bryson DeChambeau, now at +1,000, overtook +1,100 Justin Thomas as the favorite. DeChambeau is drawing more money than any other golfer in the to-win pool, and he's running even with Bubba Watson in tickets. Jhonattan Vegas is creating substantial liability, largely due to a Nevada bettor wagering $500 at +20,000, for a potential win of $100,000. Vegas is down to +5,000. A couple of five-figure payouts loom, too, off of $1,000 bets on Rory McIlroy +1,300 (now +1,200), Jon Rahm +2,000 (now +1,300) and a field bet at +1,800 (now +2,000).

UPDATE 7 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Travelers Championship odds have been on and off the board all day at BetMGM Nevada, due to withdrawals from five players who were potentially exposed to COVID-19. Among those was Brooks Koepka, after his caddie tested positive, and Webb Simpson, after a family member tested positive. The tournament goes on though, and at BetMGM, players seeing action include: Xander Schauffele, drawing the most tickets while moving from +3,300 to +2,500; Viktor Hovland, moving from +6,600 to +4,500; and Tony Finau, tightening from +6,600 to +4,000. BetMGM also took a $500 flier on +30,000 shot Wyndham Clark, a wager that would pay out $150,000 in the unlikely event Clark wins.

There’s a three-way tie atop the Travelers Championship odds board, with Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau all at 12/1. But only one of those players is drawing noteworthy money as part of brisk early business at The SuperBook.

“We’re getting really good action on the tournament so far,” Osterman said. “A few guys that are getting bet a lot are: DeChambeau, who opened 14/1 and is now 12/1; Bubba Watson, who opened 30/1 and is now 25/1, and Sungjae Im, who opened 40/1 and is now 30/1.”

Osterman said McIlroy or Thomas winning would be good outcomes at this point.

Where are the sharp bets on the Travelers Championship?

UPDATE 2 P.M. ET WEDNESDAY: Jeff Davis, director of trading for Caesars Entertainment sportsbooks, said sharp bets are landing on Jon Rahm, Ryan Moore and Patrick Rodgers. Rahm is the +1,400 fourth choice to win this week, after opening at +2,000. Moore and Rodgers are much longer shots, with both golfers at +10,000, after opening at +17,500 and +15,000, respectively.

---

Gary Woodland is drawing some sharp bets at The SuperBook. Osterman said those wagers helped move Woodland from +5,000 to +4,000.

Which prop bets are people betting in the Travelers Championship?

The SuperBook odds team is expecting players to go quite low this week, perhaps in the wake of Webb Simpson winning the RBC Heritage last week at 22-under 262, among 13 players at 267 or better. Further, the Travelers tends to produce low scores, with Bubba Watson and Chez Reavie shooting 17-under 263 to win in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Osterman said the prop of Over/Under on the winning score opened especially low, and early bettors had an opinion.

“The prop is getting good action on the Over. We opened 259.5, and we’re up to 261.5,” Osterman said.
