I hate the damned Heat so much, but I'm right there with you brother. Heat -1.5. Good luck. |

Spurs in 7. I think home team wins every game this series, but best of luck to your Thunder. My Celtics are f**ked going up against the Stern/NBA-loved Heat.

Yes, I said it. Though it really shouldn't be all that controversial a statement considering what happened in games 1 and 2 with the blatantly obvious Heat-partisoned officiating. Simply put, the NBA/Stern NEED the Heat in the Finals. Too many storylines, too much tv revenue, to much $$$ on the line for it not to happen. They are not about to chance a 2-2 series heading back to Miami with a (slim) chance the C's take Game 5, then have an opportunity to close it out in Boston. Just won't happen. Heat -1.5. 31-21 overall NBA playoff record. 5-1 this week. My record is available through the Covers NBA Playoff Contest. Good luck to all. |

This post is strictly coming from a fan perspective (granted, a Celtics fan) and has nothing to do with gambling. These first two games have been nothing short of an embarrassment for any sane person with even a small amount of basketball knowledge. The league isn't even TRYING to be subtle about their NEED for the Heat to be in the Finals. The blatant refereeing bias in favor of the Heat is vomit-inducing. Yes, the C's would have to play a near-perfect series to advance, but the league is taking no chances in this series. Truly, truly disgusting. David Stern should be ashamed of himself for selling out this game so many love to watch in favor of bigger television ratings and revenue. It's the real world, I get it, but it's still a disgrace.

He is the best athlete I have ever seen, in any sport. However, to say he is a better OVERALL PLAYER than Jordan is just Twilight Zone. When talking about the best overall players, you must take into account not only athleticism and stats, but rings, along with a few intangibles such as the ability to make players around you better (which Lebron has to an extent) and the most important, clutchness. First of all, rings(legacy). Jordan didn't win his first until age 28. He started off as pretty much a spectular scorer who didn't really make his teammates better. For the most part, they just stood around and watched him early on in his career. Check out a John Paxson quote from Jordan's infamous 63-point game in the playoffs at the Garden - he actually says this very thing, and it was a loss in double OT. The thing that separates Jordan from Lebron is that instead of calling up the best players and plotting to get on the same team together, he accepted that he had to do a better job of making his teammates better, and had the competitive drive to want to play AGAINST the best players. Bird and Magic (to name just a few greats) say this same thing. They would have never wanted to play with each other, because knowing they led their teams against the best competition successfully was part of what drove them. Lebron's solution? Get with arguaby the second best player (Wade) and another superstar (Bosh) to win a championship that he failed to deliver on by simply leading his own team. And don't tell me those Cleveland teams didn't have talent. They had the best regular season record at least twice when Lebron was there. And also do not compare it to the Boston's Big Three, who all had plenty of years leading their own teams prior to coming together in 2007. They were all 3 past 30 and wanted to win, and paid their dues IMO, but that's for a different discussion. Lebron, at age 26 (just entering his prime), decided to team up with 2 other superstar players, and after putting on a public spectacle about how many championships they were going to win together (I believe 7), was a complete and total no-show in the Finals when in matterered most, and let Dirk Nowitzki (who until that point had the "soft" label) totally take his heart. This leads me to the second intangible of a superstar player, clutchness. In fairness, Lebron has had his clutch moments, but last year's Finals no-show looms largest. I have no doubt that he will get his ring(s), but in exercising his right to team up with the best players in the league rather than leading one on his own he has forever tarnished his legacy. Circumstances can of course change, as he is only 27, but as of right now this is how it stands. My 2 cents. |

Agreed. Funny how Thunder waited until the game was decided to hit 3 threes in a row. Good luck, brother. |

Got "Bearded" in the Spurs game, but bounced back with Miami -8. Nice night for me. Had Celtics +4.5 1st half, Miami -5 2nd half, and D Wade over 9 assists+rebounds at -140 (he finished with 10 total). However, these 3 picks will not count toward my record on here as I did not post them. You can check out my picks via the NBA Playoff Contest. 27-20 overall. +2500 units. Spurs -4.5 tomorrow. If I like any halftime or prop wagers I will post tomorrow. Good luck to all. |

Agree 100%. It was rather disgusting to witness, and I had the Heat as well. While I feel the Heat are the better team and would ultimately advance anyway, to watch those bogus technical fouls, among other calls, was horrendous. I've been watching the NBA for a long time, and I honestly can't recall a technical ever being called for delay of game, especially in Eastern Conference finals. And Doc getting a tech for saying, "Come on, Danny"? Ridiculous. I knew the refereeing would favor the Heat, but the Association should at least try to make it somewhat subtle. The league can sell either team out of the west (which IMO makes that series even better to watch due to no real favoritism), but they absolutely NEED the storylines(revenue) a Heat finals would entail. |

So sorry to hear about Paul Williams. In one of my favorite sports, where the top 2 guys are scared to face each other, he never ducked anyone. He always came to fight, and boy did he ever. I never saw a dull Paul Williams match. Here's to hoping he beats the odds and walks again. |

Thanks for the ass-raping Harden. Way to come through when it mattered most for your team. Brutal. |

The fix is always in in the Association, win or lose $$. But we still watch and bet! And Durant is getting the foul call EVERY time he makes a move off the dribble here in the 4th . . . |
