Can't figure this one out other that it smells very fishy. Let's see ... a team that's 3-7 in their last 10 and can't score for shit favored pretty heavy over a team who just swept another team (granted it was the Marlins) but have won 4 in a row an won 6 of their last 10. Yeah, both starting pitchers are nothing to write home about and yes they are playing at Milwaukee, but I can only see them being fave at most 115-120ish range. Would like to see your insight on this one .... thoughts??? |

Interesting tidbit, but I don't think Maholm for the Braves like pitching in the AL format (i.e. DH vs a free out with pitcher hitting). Looked back to see how he fared in AL ballparks and I think his team only won once in his career in AL ballparks out of 11 starts; that was a ND for him too. Here's what I found ...

Houston 100-120 Kansas City KC slumping and shouldn't be a road fave against anyone right now, even the lowly Stros. Furthermore, they are faves with Davis is gives up way too many walks and hits (WHIP is 1.89). Stros sends Norris to the mound who with the exception of two starts has pitched pretty well. He also pitches much better at home where he's held all his opponents this year to 2 ERs or less. Think there's some value here with the home dog even if it's the Stros. Miami 105-100 Philadelphia Can't believe I'm playing the Marlins and Stros in the same day ... Ugh. But I like the matchup today. Miami sending Fernandez today who has been pretty good except for a couple of road starts. He has a season WHIP of 1.16 and ERA of 3.48. He is much better at home keeping his opponents to 2 ERs or less. He also has faced Philly twice this year where he has been stellar against blanking them on both starts. Furthermore he's held them to 2 and 4 walks/hits respectively in each start. Hard to score when you get a couple of hits/walks per game. LA Dodgers 125-100 Milwaukee Liking Greinke here and fading a slumping Brewers. Greinke has been solid in his 3 starts this year keeping his opponents to 2 ERs or less with a WHIP of 0.78. Towards the end of last year, he held his last 7 of 8 opponents to 2 ERs or less and it looks like it's spilling over to this year. He's facing his old team from last year so he's no stranger to pitcher-friendly Miller park where he sports a 15-0 record with a 2.89 record. Brewers struggling winning only 2 of their last 10. Burgos gives up hits and walks as indicated in his season WHIP of 1.50 and WHIP of 1.87 in his last 3 starts. He's given up the long ball in 4 of his 5 starts. 125 is a decent price to take a stab at the matchup and fading a slumping team.

@bookiekilla, we had a good shot to win that game but stupid error by the pitcher in the 9th to close out the game. Oh well, sh#t happens. Hopefully, you hit your other games today. GL!

ugh, ugly afternoon game. Each team gives the other team chances to win the game ... more than once! Oh well, that's baseball. Here's what I like tonight ... Over 8 runs Washington / San Francisco 100-100 Over 3.5 Runs Washington Team Total 123-100 Fading Vogelsong here. Vogelsong has given up at least 3 ERS in every start this year. He has given up at least 4 ERs in 6 of his 8 starts. The Giants has given up 4 runs or more in every one of his starts. In his last 3 starts, he couldn't get out of past the 5th inning. He has a season WHIP of 1.84 and an ERA of 8.06. The Giants pitching has given up 5 runs or more in the their last 6 games; 10 runs or more in 4 of their last 6 games. Meanwhile, the Nats have scored 4 runs or more in 3 of their last 4, and all of those games were at pitcher-friendly Petco. Also, Harper may come back tonight. The Nats counter with Duke from the pen. He is making his first start since 2011. In his last two relief appearances, he's 7 ERs in a little of 4 innings of work combined. In all his relief appearances this year with the exception of one game, he has given up 2 ERs or more whenever he had to work two innings or more, which he'll have to do tonight. He has a season WHIP of 1.73 and an ERA of 1.84 Hopefully, both of these starters give up quite a few before the pens get involved. GL everyone with your plays tonight! |

Went 1-3 yesterday losing 2.53 units. 2013 YTD Bases posted on Covers: 25-14, +10.32 units I should stop playing in the weekends because I don't have the same amount of time to proper research like I do during the weekdays. Anyways, glad it's a weekday today. Here's what I like this afternoon ...
This is all Iwakuma. Like his splits during day games where he has an ERA of 1.33, OBP of 0.196, WHIP of 0.70. As hot as Cleveland has been, those are tough numbers to face and hoping the trend continues for Iwakuma. Also, Cleveland won 3 of the 4 game series already and could Francona could potentially be looking ahead a little with the return to Fenway against the Red Sox. Be back later to post the night games.
