Just wanted to throw this out there for everyone on the White Sox. The White Sox are 21-12 when either Chris Sale or Jake Peavy starts for them. 25-25 otherwise.

Yu Darvish is good, hes just not -180 money good. Drew Smyly has comparable numbers to Yu. For that price i think you either take the Tigers or pass altogether on the game. Hope that helps

His minor league starts leading up to his first start this year were not impressive in the least and on his first start back up to the majors this year he went 5 innings and gave up 4 runs to the Nats. He is a really inconsistent starter and it wouldnt surprise me in the least to see him get lit up tomorrow. Dempster is definitely the better starter of the two. Seems like a fair line to me overall.

I havent really followed these teams closely Oakland, but you could be onto something. Look at Dillon Gee's last 5 starts and his pitch counts - all on just 4 days rest:
May 20 - 113 May 25 - 106 May 30 - 110 Jun 4 - 106 Jun 9 - 109 Im not sure if thats his regular work load or if those pitch counts all coming on regular rest is something out of the norm for him

I dont get the line posted tomorrow that has Johan Santana and the Mets as a +120 underdog.
The Rays dont hit well and strikeout in bunches when facing left-handed pitching. Im pretty sure another power lefty, CC Sabathia, had 14-15 Ks last time he faced the Rays. The Mets have the better lineup and hit right handed pitchers like tomorrows starter, Jeremy Hellickson, better than they do left handed pitching. Jeremy Hellickson hasnt put up close to same advanced stats as Johan this year. Im assuming the line is what it is because of 1 shaky outing following a no-hitter by Johan Santana. Does anyone else have any thoughts on tomorrows matchup between the Mets and Rays |

I think a good place to go is
It gives bullpen rankings by "Wins above replacement" which I think is pretty accurate. A bunch of other stats are there too

Does anyone have any opinions on the Red Sox vs Nationals game?
Im thinking of taking the Nationals with Gio Gonzalez on the hill at -105. He has been solid all year. Daisuke Matsuaka has made 8 rehab starts in the minor leagues, totaling 37 innings, which comes out to less than 5IP per start. Based on his minor league starts Daisuke is more than likely on a pitch count on his first start back up to the majors and even if he fairs well against the Nationals, that will most likely leave 4 innings for the Nationals to go to work on the Red Sox bullpen. On top of that In 2010 and 2011 Daisuke never put up good numbers in the majors (Based on advanced stats - FIP, SIERA, K/BB ratio) so his chances of a good outing arent that great Does this seem like a good play to anyone at this price?

Rondo is much better than Lin.
For arguments sake lets throw out assists and call it a wash as both are good at it Lin has to cut down on the turnovers, those cost your team possessions (which means less opportunities to score points). Rondo is pretty good at getting steals (i.e. giving your team extra possessions which lead to more points) and Rondo plays extremely well at the defensive end of the floor (makes it harder for the other team to score). Hes not a consistent jump shooter, but everything stated above more than makes up for it

Stratsburg was taken out a couple starts ago after 5 innings because of a strained bicep. I think his last start he only went 5 innings as a precautionary measure because of the bicep. So the question is when you bet on him, how many innings will you get out of him.

oh and Cleveland struggles vs lefties also
.757 OPS vs righties .649 OPS vs lefties so maybe some people see value in the matchup Will Smith is a lefty

I dont know how the lineup for the Royals looks, but if it happens to be lefty-heavy then that could be a reason. Masterson is awful vs lefties
