But let's not get carried away with that last statement:  if Treadwell scores the TD, Auburn has 1:30 and 3 Timeouts, and only needs a FG to send it into OT, where they have a very big advantage (even WITH Treadwell on the field)!

Auburn had destroyed that defense on the last 3 drives, and they were physically beat up... there is very little doubt Auburn would have gone down and at least gotten into FG range... possibly scored the TD for an outright win!

Previous three Auburn drives:

9 plays for 75 yards in 4:03 - TD
11 plays for 96 yards in 3:46 - TD
7 plays for 73 yards in 2:06 - TD

And that was without using any timeouts... so let's not act like the game would have been over if Treadwell scores the TD...  Ol Miss still had a huge challenge ahead trying to stop Auburn's offense!

Tough ending to a great game, and probably not just... also agree Gus made a terrible playcall on 3rd and 1 to give Ol Miss back the ball... but, if Auburn has 1:30 and 3 timeouts, that is more than enough time to get into FG range, with a very good kicker...

That is a lot of what ifs and wishful thinking.  Also anyone who bets on or against Gus knows his challenges as a play caller.  That is one of the many reasons this bet was larger than normal.

I lost too. All my winnings from the entire week up in smoke due to the most unlikely of finishes but what can you do. Basically the only way we could lose is the way we did. So I feel your pain but don't want to wish him death for God's sake.

At the end of the day Auburn got really lucky at the end of the game. Only chance to win was what happened. Treadwell has to basically break his ankle just short of the endzone and drop (not fumble as it was not forced) which was recovered by an Auburn guy who was right there. So before you Auburn guys beat your chest remember very luck break for you and very unlucky break (both literally and figuratively) for us.

You know I have no money on this game but if I was an As backer I would want to surgically close your mouth.  You sir are the definition of a mush.  Wait until the game is over then post your rant about how you were right and the KC backers were wrong.  If you do not win you might as well create a new account.  Thought you would have learned after the first time you posted this type of stuff.

Boy what a horrible call by Pérez on that last pitch to Clyaspo.  You throw it low and outside instead of elevated.  That way worst case scenario it is a grounder to third base.  Sure elevated he might strike out but more likely to hit a fly ball and get the runner in via sac fly or worst.  Horrible call by Pérez if you ask me.

Be honest OAK backers... when you saw Nick Punto enter the game your first reaction was OH $HIT!  Lets go KC!  No bet just cheering on fellow AL Central small market team.

Also I will add that the Twins historically stick with their managers for a long time for better or worst.  So the fact he lasted a long time is merely the Twins way and not necessarily any indication of Gardy's ability.  Of course if he never one a single division over the years he would have gone sooner but again any success is deemed a success but the penny pinching Twins ownership.  Watch the next manager he will too last a long time.

They got a decent return on their money for Hughes but every other pitcher on the staff was there because he was a minimum wage worker or hopeless retread. The offense was pretty darn good, but that does not carry a season and the people that fired Gardenhire did so to cover their own azzes.

As a lifetime diehard Twins fan I strongly disagree with your statement.  The Twins have always been a penny pinching team. That should not shock anyone.  Hell a penny saved is a penny earned is the Pollad moto.  It has been since they took ownership.  It really was during the Griffin era too!  Despite this the Twins have been to three World Series and won two of them.  They also produced 8 HOFers during this time period.  That is not too bad considering their penny pincher ways.  Every now and then they step out (e.g. when building a new stadium, when they think they have a reasonable chance to win a World Series, or if they need to rattle the fan base) and they spend twice as much as they normally would.

While I agree to an extent that ownership could have helped Gardy more let me ask you this simple question... What is Gardy' lifetime post-season record?  If that stumps you then how about this one... how many post-season trips did Gardy take and how many post-season series wins did he have?

Don't know.  Well let me tell you.  He has ONE that is right ONE post-season series win.  He has a SIX that is right SIX post-seasons wins total!  TOTAL!  The Twins entered the post-seasons six times under his watch.  His first year (the team TK or Tom Kelly to most put together) was the only year he won a post season series.  He won a total of TWO games since that first run.  Yes TWO FRICKEN GAMES!  He typically got swept every season thereafter.

The Twins has Santana, Liriano, Nathan, Mauer, Morneau, Thome, Ortiz, Gomez, Hardy, Cuddyer, Hunter, and many, many, many others over the years.  He had on paper the most talent Twins teams ever assembled with a true Ace something the Twins had not had in years and he pi$$ed it away year after year with no leadership, his inability to effectively manage a bullpen, constantly making the wrong decisions at the end of the game.

I don't know how many Twins games you watched over the years but out of 162 I usually watch over 100 each year.  I can tell you the teams the Twins put on the field anyone can manage the Twins to six division titles.  Especially against the competition they typically had in the division over those years.  Frankly it is rather sad that it was only six.  His post-season record demonstrates his complete incompetence.  Whoever said that they would take Gardy on their team I say go for it.  Lets see how the next team goes for him without the support of the whole organization for better or worst.

Frankly, I thought his best season of actually managing a ball team was ironically enough this season but the writing has been on the wall for a along time.  We have some outstanding young talent coming up and it is time to make the change.  He has his time.  It is time for either Molitor or Steinbach to manage this team going forward.  The Twins will be back but it will take a couple more years.

Go to www.NFL.com and review the play again.  It clearly bounces off the ground during the up close replay.  According to NFL rules, "An interception is made when a pass (forward or backward is caught by an opponent of the passer.". A catch, "is a catch if in the process of attempting to catch the ball, a player secures control of the ball prior to the ball TOUCHING THE GROUND and that control is maintained after the ball has touched the ground."

If the defender cannot control it prior to touching the ground it is not a catch.  In either event it is a done deal just very surprised no officials review or Tomlin complaining.  Very odd second half in general actually.

Anyone else notice this? The tip of the ball hit the ground then Ngoti cradled it when he turned over. Never looked at by the officials either. Big spot for teasers and 2H total. Very odd.

Thanks HoustonSports...

Just one more game tonight.  I wanted to bet NYY even money but came across another thread (wish I remember his name so I could give him credit).  He made a very compelling case for first 5.  So I am going to add the following:

NYY 1st 5 +100 for 1 unit

NYY FG +100 for 1 unit
