Standard? Not really.

Golden State was getting -12 to -13 at home and the 1st half line was consistently 7-8.

Usually the 1st half line is between 55-60% of the full game spread. Any disparity (in favor of the favorite or underdog) is telling me that the bookies are hinting at the outcome of who they think covers.

-1 for the 1st half?

Doesn’t make sense at all for this type of line disparity.

From the standpoint of the game, I would actually like to see the 3 point lined moved back. It was moved forward a few seasons in the 90s but the shooting talent wasn’t as good as it is now. A college 3 point line in today’s game would be unfair.

The recommendation I have is actually for the oddsmakers - increase the totals. Until they do it consistently across the board, you will have teams putting up 230 in a game when the total was only 210.

As stated, pace is slower than it was in the 80s however the pace of the last 3 years is highest it has been since the 80s. The key point not mentioned is eFG % is up compared to the past because of significantly more efficient outeide shooting. The NBA implemented the 3 point line in the 1979-1980 season but the game was still contingent on pushing the pace to get dunks and lay-ups vs. running sets to get sharp shooters open.

One of the old covers posters debtCrimes, used to pop up during elimination games and talk about how the UNDER was a good blind pay to make but not anymore. The we had the era of the big man, then he era of the dunk, and now it is the 3 ball era.

Maybe for teams such as the Grizzlies and Magic during the regular season but that doesn’t matter in the Playoffs. It is an easy sell out

As a whole, the players today are much better than the ones in the 80s.

The only advantage you had from back then is superior post play.

After 3 straight years of the all star game being a lay-up still, it appears that the lack of D is making its way to the playoffs.

When will the NBA implement rules to eliminate the exhibition style of play in today’s game?

Actually, it is an accurate thread.

You aren’t black so you wouldn’t understand but trenOP is 100% correct.

Taylor should get credit for the high character shown for even coming into the game after the coach clearly showed he was an idiot.

Only 5 weeks in so it's not over yet.

You still have time to turn it around so grinding it out, kid.
