seems like the empty netter has gotta help, right?

Thanks Kenny. Yeah, the empty netters seems to really make the favorite/overs work in the game. Obviously the first period ones don't get that luxury. essentially the first period wager I propose can also be voiced as "will the favorite score 2 goals in the first period." Is it worth taking for what seems to be between 3 to 1 and 4.5 to 1 odds (the favorite and the over). |

Hi guys, Posted something in the systems / strategy forum, but got no feedback. Looking for some hockey help here -- Lippsman you have been of great help in the past -- maybe you have some quick thoughts on this. My local just uses posted public lines (20 and 30 cents wide) and allows various parlays that I believe borderline on or flat out are correlated parlays. There are 2 opportunities I think could work for me...I have kept track of scores for the last 4 or 5 days but unsure I see a clear opportunity. They are:
1. Parlay game puck line (+/- 1.5 goals) to the game total. Example, Penguins minus 1.5 goals, plus 165 with the game over 6 minus 115. Obviously could also take Rangers and the under. Does this still work with totals of this era that are not 5.5? I did it with just 5.5 totals a few weeks ago for a few days and it worked better but then kinda reverted back to not so awesome. 2. Parlay first period puck line (+/- half a goal) tot he first period total. Example, Penguins minus 0.5 goal, plus 150 with the first period over 1.5 goals minus 130. Or Rangers plus 0.5 witht he under. This one seems better, but the small data set has been marginal so far.
I realize Vegas and most places do not allow these bets, which makes me want to try either or both strategies even more.
I appreciate any constructive thoughts. Please assume I will have zero credit risk with collecting/paying. Help me out and let me know when in Chicago next and a night on the town is on me Thanks for your help, fellas.
Good luck to all.

A local I have just uses a public site for lines and allows parlaying first period puck line with the first period total (among other things). Yesterday for example, in the first period:
San Jose minus 1/2, plus 170 can be parlayed with the over 1.5 at minus 115. Or Dallas plus 1/2, minus 200 can be parlayed with under 1.5, minus 115.
I kept track of it for a few days here and there but I have not seen anything jump out at me as far as easy trends to capture this potential opportunity.
If anyone has thoughts on this (I do not normally traffic in hockey) I sure would appreciate it. As always, good luck to all and merry xmas season.
Thanks.

Hello all... was looking for a thread / info regarding correlated hockey parlays in the first period. A local I have just uses a public site for lines and allows parlaying first period puck line with the first period total (among other things).
Tonight for example, in the first period: San Jose minus 1/2, plus 170 can be parlayed with the over 1.5 at minus 115. Or Dallas plus 1/2, minus 200 can be parlayed with under 1.5, minus 115. Like when Coach Yoast turned to Coach Boone...I am getting my a** kicked - need help.
in NHL Betting Seems like most forums has their share of namecalling and bitching...wanted to reach out to AJ and say thx for kind of suggesting to look at 5.5 totals instead of 6 and 6.5 totals. Made the adjustment and have had a nice little run to get back around 40 % of my losses in just a few days. Thx AJ and good luck to all.

in NHL Betting Hey AJ, thanks for the reply and thoughts. I was thinking similar...in that maybe I only use the games that are 5.5. Any thoughts if fav/over or dog/under would be a better play with the 5.5 totals? good luck tonight. |

Hello Hockey forum, looking for help in what I thought was going to be a money making "system". Short story -- my local allows parlaying puck lines and totals. Maybe I am just getting unlucky (although I have tended to parlay the favorite minus 1.5 and the over more than the dog plus 1.5 and the under, so it could just as well be user error). But I have been trying for about a month and had a misrable run. Totals are higher than last time I seriosuly bet hockey so maybe that is the problem and thus the correlation in these parlays is no longer there and profitable. I welcome all suggestions but please no advice that I will not get paid if I win. While I appreciate that advice I prefer to focus on when/if the favorite/over or dog/under is still profitable.
Thanks everyone, and good luck to all.

I figure there is zero home field advantage since tickets are free and students will probably not care at Campbell. And both teams players probably worried about their Carolina families. I am sure I am talking up my gut instinct to take the favorite here, but I get a sense CC is significantly better and can score enough to cover in the second half. This is a payday game for Campbell as they play their only FBS opponent this year. Hard to use past games as UAB beat Savannah St but they are god awful and South Carolina is obviously much better than CC. Campbell only scored 13 on Georgetown (about as good as an Ivy League team), although there was rain everywhere last weekend.
Both teams seem to run the ball a decent amount so I hope I just dont run out of time for CC to get up 30+. But for me I am going CC -- my guy currently has it at 28.5
Gl to you and the rest of the board.

I am sure there is good debate about how to play line movement and I look forward to everyone's thoughts. I do not know a lot about soccer -- but lineups seem to matter and change a lot (unlike football where Tom Brady may not play due to injury, but he is not going to get rested very often) and I figure that is moving the line in the last minutes or hour leading up to a fixture. Nowhere am I looking to keep a record of this, by the way...just looking to throw out what I see once in awhile. And again, good luck to all.

It is mostly what I look at. looks to have gone from -135 to -165 a lot of places. I was able to get some at -135.

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to get back to me. I realize probably all Las Vegas sports books would not take these parlays pairing 1.5 puck lines with game totals, but I occasionally find assorted internet shops / pay per head places (used by local bookies around me) that have a setting wrong and do take them. When I get a new bookie (I try and have as many as I can for line shopping purposes) I go through the correlation bets and sometimes these opportunities arise as is the case with one I am using now.
I have been able to parlay these 2 (puck line and game total) for the last 4 or 5 days and so far it is continuing. It has been small profitable in this short time and I am sure at some point the setting will be changed - but for now I want to capitalize on current settings. So if you guys had a book that allowed these, and you were certain you would be paid - my question is what you think is the best way to do so. 1. the minus 1.5 and the over blind in every game, 2. the plus 1.5 and the under blind in every game, 3. the answer is different for different for different totals of 5.0, 5.5, etc. 4. any other thoughts/suggestions welcome. Again, thanks for taking the time to consider and all helpful feedback is certainly appreciated. Good luck to all.

Hi Vito, thanks for reaching out.
Have you seen anything or figured out anything as to what the best strategy is? Or is it merely the minus 1.5 with the over? Thanks.

Hi guys,
I was prodding around the site my local uses. The current settings allow me to parlay the minus 1.5 puck lines with game totals. For last 2 days I just played the minus 1.5 with the overs and it went reasonably fine. However, I wanted to solicit feedback from y'all if perhaps there is a better way to do it and capture this correlation. Maybe plus 1.5 and the under or only minus 1.5 and 5.5 totals but not 5.0 totals. I realize at some point they will catch on and disallow it but I will fight that fight when the time comes. Thanks for any helpful advice and good luck to all.

My book allows parlaying minus half a run in first 5 innings with a first 5 inning side. Worth it?
in MLB Betting
unfortunately no - they use the normal 33 to 40 % in football and do not allow run line with baseball total. I will try with puck line and hockey totals when season starts.
gamble, does your site happen to allow it?

obviously yesterday was an anomaly and the "strategy" did astonishingly well. 8 of the 15 games had the favorite/over parlay (first 5) win. Losses were 300 each and wins ranged from 609 on dodgers game to 933 on brewers game. Will let you know how it goes today...
This local happens to use a place called "Wagershack". Seems similar to any other site. I am curious if your site would allow you to put these in. If they do, I guess I am less excited about the strategy and this 1 good day is merely luck.
