@gill That is correct. This is NFLSurvivor and I am still only playing with OLG in store (ProLine). I no longer post my plays because it is too time consuming to do so and OLG updates the odds too quickly. What I play and post may no longer be available for people to follow so there's no point.
We had a real good run on Cappers for over 2 decades or so (from a ProLine perspective) but all good things must come to an end. Hope you and the rest of the gang is doing well. Good to see some familiar names here (LJJU, T100 etc, to name a few).
If you have an account on X and are still playing ProLine with OLG, hit me up and we can discuss angles and strategies and share intel. Lots of previous CM members (red_falcon, bcass, richhh, cheeze, walks, ABB, Hermanoz, mikki, Morph etc, just to name a few) are on my Twitter followers so take your time to go through the list and connect with them as well. |

Only $4K and change for the winners this past week. The syndicates boxing 10 games would be lucky to break even. Only 12 games for Week 5 Pools card so expect many winners and similar prize payout. I agree with some previous posters: OLG has *cannibalized* their own Pools program by offering too many other options. The average Joe Pub only has so much to spend on any given Sunday, is he better off spending $80 to box 4 games in Pools and pretty much has no chance in hell to compete the deep-pocketed syndicates or is he better off using that $ for single game wagering, to live to fight another day?

Pot this week is about $445K so less than last week.
I counted 4 dogs winning outright so far (Titans, Seahawks, Ravens and Commanders). Colts/Texans was more or less a Pick'em type of game. The 2 games tomorrow have low spreads and many folks tend to box the prime-time games to begin with. If both dogs won tomorrow night, I am thinking the payout maybe similar to last week e.g. 5 figures, due to the number of upsets and the fact it's a 15-game card. |

Yep ric, I did mention earlier it's not an even playing field for Pools so the Joe Pub who can only afford to spend $80 every week to box 4 games simply don't stand a chance...that's the ugly truth...unless they are NFL Prognosticator Extraordinaire, who can routinely predict NFL winners on a consistent basis, but if that's the case, they should take their talents to Vegas/other online books, instead of playing with OLG, but I digress.
Obviously you need to know which games to box to optimize your chances and payouts but there is no denying the fact that the more games you box, the more chances you will create for yourself to win the Pools. Whether you have the $ to consistently do so on a weekly basis (boxing 8 games will set you back $1,280, so on and so forth) is another question.
There were Pools players on another ProLine forum, which has gone extinct, who openly bragged they knew people who worked for OLG who could let them know how many winning tickets were waiting for Monday Night, so these guys could figure out the potential payouts and hedge properly, if necessary. I don't have a problem with that approach, you have to gain every edge that you can. What I do have a problem is these guys sometimes turned around and wanted to flip their winning Pools tickets for double the projected payout to other unsuspecting players. That's a bush-league move and they were pure grifters, plain and simple.
Be interesting to see what pot Week 2 will end up with. It's mid-day Saturday and estimated pot is hovering around $125K right now. That's a lot of ground to cover, to get up to $500K, with less than a day to go although majority of Pools tickets are no doubt purchased on Sunday morning, or as close to cut-off as possible, factoring in injuries and inactives. |

I have been playing/following OLG NFL Pools for close to 2 decades and I agree with some of the lads here. The overall pot used to be well over $800K, approaching $1 million at some point about a decade ago. The weekly pot has dropped down to about $500K in the past few years, going down as low as under $400K for some weeks last year. Depending on what your objectives, bankroll, risk tolerance and other factors are, this number may not be +EV to invest. I think there are a number of factors explaining the decline in overall interest in OLG NFL Pools and the subsequent (significant) pot reduction.
1. There are too many individuals/groups/syndicates/whatever you want to call it boxing games left right, and centre. It is not an even playing field (and it never was). Joe Public only has so much $ to spend these days, with inflation and rising interest rates, and they simply can't afford to spend $ on Pools, weeks in and weeks out, if they can't compete with the individuals/groups with deep pockets.
2. The legalization of sports betting in Ontario. There are, simply put, way too many choices and options for the Players now. They don't really need to play Pools to make the dough, if they know what they are doing. Easier said than done obviously but my point is there are many more choices now, competing for the same amount of $ from the players, compared to the past where Pools (and ProLine parlays) were the only game in town.
I would be very surprised to see the pot reaching half a million like Week 1 but we will find out soon enough.
Good luck to all the Poolies out there!

Funny dforces, I also missed that game that week. What a bummer!
The payout was a sweet $12K. Oh well anything can happen on any given Sunday. I just hope there is no lockout next year so we can take another stab at this. I have seen many high 5-digit payout this year. Lots to dream about and work towards! Quote Originally Posted by dforcesoffa:

van, Walter Samuel is not in the starting lineup but Martin Demichellis is
Argentina is coming out with a 4-4-2 formation while Germany has 4-2-3-1 with Klose the lone striker up front and Mueller, Ozil and Podolski dropping back. |

Still 45 minutes to go bud. Holland scored 2 in the 2nd half against Brazil...who would've thunk that.
But I agree, Uruguay looks a bit out of touch today. |

You also still have not answered Allbutbroke's question yet either and I thought it was a fair one.

All lines off Pinnacle
Week 2 Detroit Lions -3 @ -107, 3.21 units to win 3 units: The Vikes' offense is overmatched and Mike Martz will have his unit piling up the points. Atlanta Falcons +10 @ -102, 1.02 units to win 1 unit: The Falcons will pound the ball and limit Harrington's mistake, David Garrard hasn't shown anything substantial Denver Broncos -10 @ +102, 2 units to win 2.04 units: Immobile Culpepper is slated to start. Broncos is well-balanced on both sides of the ball. Good luck to all this weekend! |

Dl, good to see you and your teasers back
For this week, here are the 4 that I like Detroit +10, it's hard for me to picture the Lions getting blown out by the inefficient Vikes at home. You know Mike Martz is roaring to get his troops going DEN pick: you can't go wrong with Shanahan at home against the team that fired him GB +14: Packers defense is under-rated and Favre is good for a couple of scores. Too many injuries on Giants side ATL +23: Bet on Jags when they are dogs and go against them when they are faves GL my friend! |
