Yeah, Packers and Broncos seem like the safe picks for sure.

I think bk1374 is spot on that some folks may take a long look at both the Saints and the Patriots, but I agree with him that it's wise to avoid road teams at all costs (especially this early in the season).

Packers (favorite play on the board)
Broncos (the fact that Kansas City is a division opponent gives me a tiny bit of pause here for some reason...weird feeling that this might be a close game)
Bengals?
Bucs?

Okay.  I have a follow-up question:

Assuming the postponed game between Colorado and Fresno St is NOT rescheduled for Sunday/Monday of this weekend, and is played later in the season, will the pick/selection of Colorado +9.5 count in the pool retroactively towards this week (week ending 9/16), or will it count towards the actual date/week of the rescheduled game?

In other words, once Colorado/Fresno St play the game, which week will the result actually count towards?  The week in which the game was "picked"?  Or, the week in which the game was actually "played"?

Thanks for your feedback.

I am the commissioner for a college football office pool on Covers.  All of the participants pick exactly 10 (Maximum) games per week.  One person has already selected his 10 picks for this week, with one of those picks being Colorado +9.5 versus Fresno State.

However, due to the flooding/rains in Colorado, the football game scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.  Unfortunately, Colorado +9.5 still shows up as one of his "pending" picks on our pool's page.  If he tries to select another game on the list (to take place of Colorado +9.5) and hits the Submit button, he receives the error message about exceeding the maximum number of picks (10) for this week.

Is there any way to erase or clear his Colorado +9.5 pick from the site, so that he can then go ahead and make another selection in its place?  Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a write-up on the Yankees...

After losing the first two games of this series to AL East rival Boston, I look for the New York Yankees to salvage it with a Game 3 victory tonight. I like their chances given the edge they have on the mound with Andy Pettite over Ryan Dempster.

Dempster was traded from Chicago to Texas in 2012 mid-season, and it was clear he could not handle the American League. He posted a 2.25 ERA in 16 starts for the Cubs before registering a 5.09 ERA with the Rangers following the trade.

Pettite was limited to 12 starts due to a broken leg that kept him out three months last year. However, he took advantage of the 12 starts he did receive, going 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA.

Dempster is 0-4 with a 7.63 ERA and 2.048 WHIP in five career starts against New York. His teams have gone 0-5 in those five starts. That includes a 2-8 loss at New York in his lone start against the Yankees last year on August 13th. Dempster surrendered 8 earned runs and 11 base runners over 6 innings in that outing.

The Yankees are 39-13 in their last 52 games after losing the first 2 games of a series. The Red Sox are 17-38 in their last 55 games as a road underdog. New York is 44-18 in Pettite’s last 62 starts as a favorite. Bet the Yankees Thursday.

Good stuff, Angle!  I'm with you on both the Yankees ML and Blue Jays -1.5.

Also, thanks so much for the heads up regarding McShady/Semper.  Looking forward to a great MLB season with fellow Chasers.

Angle...thanks so much for keeping this thread alive, including all of your insights/analysis/picks/"angles".  Job well done.

Quick question:  Will you also be posting McShady and Semper's MLB Chase plays in this thread?

If not, is there another spot that I can find those plays?

Thanks so much for any feedback, Angle.  Looking forward to another great MLB season with fellow Chasers.

What's up, fellas.

I'm taking a flyer on Giants ML...hoping they can stay alive to fight another day in NLCS.

Thanks to McShady/Semper/Angle and the Chasers crew, MLB season has been a rather profitable one....so I have no worries about taking a shot on SF to avoid elimination.

About to hop on plane...thanks again, fellas and BOL to all
