59-49 ytd After a terrible season I am finally heating up for the playoffs. Week 17 is difficult to cap because there are a lot of weird spots. So it's possible I will end up with just 3-4 picks. What's very interesting is that huge underdogs just don't win in the last week. Since 2009, underdogs of more than a TD are 1-36 SU and 13-24 ATS. They are 2-35 on 6-pt-teasers. Since 2008 they are 2-41 SU and so on. These teams don't have motivation to win, they play for the draft pick. So you could look to find some teasing options. For example the Ravens and Dolphins will have NO motivation to win this week. The Ravens had their personal Super Bowl last week and they don't care about a win over the Bengals. The Dolphins are already looking at the next draft, they have no motivation whether the Pats will have the first or second seed. But the Pats wanna have home field through the playoffs. |

As a life long fan of the Browns for close to six decades, the Browns will beat the Steelers today and thus begin the last chapter in this once proud franchise.
With the Browns losing, the Titans secure the #1 pick in the draft and trade the pick to the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins take Paxton Lynch QB from Memphis. In the next decade Lynch make Dolphin fans forget about Dan Marino as he shatters all of his records and take the Dolphins to 4 Super Bowl Titles.
With the second pick, the Browns pass on 255 other qualified prospects and take Cordale Jones QB from The Ohio State University. GM Ray Farmer reports that Cordale called him the night before the draft and said he could bring championships to Cleveland just like he did at The Ohio State University. Later in the draft the Browns trade Johnny Manziel to the Broncos for Payton Manning to serve as a tutor for the young Cordale Jones. Manziel loves being on a permanent "Rocky Mountain High" in Denver and plays with the reckless abandonment that he showed at A&M and leads the Broncos to two Super Bowl Titles.
Meanwhile back in Cleveland ......... Cordale once remarked when he was at OSU that he did not feel that football players need to attend academic classes. He takes that same quest for learning to Cleveland when it applies to learning the playbook. Two weeks into training camp Manning frustrated with Cordale's lack of work ethic announces his retirement.
Cordale takes the Browns to a 5-43 record over the next three seasons. At the end of the 2018 season Jimmy Haslam decides to sell the club to Mark Cuban. At his first press conference after buying the team Cuban vows to return the winning tradition to Cleveland. As a true businessman the next day Cuban announces he is moving the team to London as the first European NFL franchise.
Oh if the Browns would of only lost today

Having said that, these lines are big, and will personally only bet these games as part of a tease or two.

Jim Harbaugh did a fantastic job with Michigan this year leading them to a 9-3 record and back in the National Championship hunt. Michigan got it done with an elite defense and offensively behind the arm of Jake Rudock. Rudock a transfer from Iowa threw for 2700 yards and combined for 21 touchdowns. He was very efficient and solid and got better as the year went on. Michigan offensively struggled to run the football but were still successful in moving the chains and hitting occasional big plays. Defensively the Wolverines have been very tough playing better against the pass and not allowing opponents to have much success against them. Once in a while though they can be hit for big gains. Florida under new coach Jim McElwain had a great rebound season where the team finished 10-3 and looked like they could contend for a title but then starting QB Will Grier got suspended and those championship aspirations went out the window. Florida gets it done behind an elite defense. They play very stout in all aspects of the game and are especially good in the secondary where they are led by future 1st round nfl draft pick Vernon Hargreaves. They play super aggressive and make a lot of plays. Offensively since the suspension of Will Grier it has been tough sledding for the Florida offense. They have very limited success moving the football and rely on the legs of RB Kelvin Taylor to keep the chains moving.
What I see happening in this game is a defensive struggle. I don't see how either team can be successful against the opposing teams defenses. Florida's secondary will shutdown Michigan's passing attack and Florida doesn't have the weapons offensively to move the ball against this Michigan defense. Both teams also play at a very slow pace and therefore the safe bet on this game is on the under.

If you bet Northwestern and Over in the SECOND HALF ONLY in their last 7 Bowls you'd be 13-1

The Irish had to deal with some injuries offensively but never the less that unit hummed. The offense was led by dual threat QB DeShone Kizer who hit for 29 tds and totaled 3000 yards of offense. Notre Dame mixes it up on offense and they are one of the most explosive units in the nation. moving the sticks with ease and hitting big plays often. Not too many weaknesses with this unit. Defensively the Irish have been decent but not great. They do not play very well against the run and teams tend to hit them with big plays often. Ohio St is coming off of a disappointing season in which they did not make the college football playoff. They lost a fluke bad weather game against Michigan St which knocked them out of contention. Its a shame because the Buckeyes have a very solid overall team. Ohio St offensively is led by dual threat QB JT Barrett and RB Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott ran for about 1700 yards and combined for 19 tds. While Barrett didn't play much until the 2nd half of the year but when he got going he's looked his dynamic self. Ohio St gets it done on the ground moving the chains with ease and hitting on big plays often. Defensively the Buckeyes are lights out shutting down opponents in all aspects of the game. The defensive line led by Joey Bosa is a handful to block and teams find very limited success against this unit.
What I see happening in this game is the Ohio St offense will be able to move the football on the Irish D with ease. The weather will be fantastic and Jt Barrett and Elliott should have field days. Defensively the Buckeyes will make a good amount of stops against the high octane Irish attack and when this happens there is no way Notre Dame can keep up. Ohio St should win this game fairly easily and therefore I will gladly lay the points.
