Apparently it was produced by David Banner with vocals by Kermit Quinn. I think it was made specifically for that commercial.

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this site before but I came across this a while ago and thought I should share it with everyone. Some great performances mainly filmed in Paris by Vincent Moon.
I wish more artists would do this type of thing. I usually end up enjoying these types of performances more than the album versions. Just seems like they put a little something extra into these. Some highlights to check out: Delta Spirit - Trashcan Plants & Animals - Bye, Bye, Bye The Tallest Man On Earth - The Gardener Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Fleet Foxes - Sun Giant/Blue Ridge Mountains Bon Iver - Part 1 & Part 2 Seasick Steve Pigeon John Enjoy! |

I'm heading to Munich in a few weeks and figured I'd ask around to see if anyone has any suggestions on places to go and things to see.
I'm looking into going to a Bayern Munich game but other than that I haven't made any big plans besides checking out the beer gardens of course. I'm renting a car as well so if you have ideas for places close to Munich throw them out there as well. Thanks |

Some good points here guys but lets not forget that there have been a lot of great players who have taken some slack for things they have done on the ice. Gordie Howe and Mark Messier loved to throw some bows. Even Lemieux and Gretzky took a dive or two in their day. It happens, get over it.
What we need to realize is that these guys are in the spotlight every time they step on the ice so nothing will go unnoticed. So what if Crosby slashed someone. It's called frustration. Kirk Maltby has been going around slashing guys all series but we're not talking about him now are we. Just because you are a great player doesn't mean that you are perfect. I'm not saying that Crosby is innocent at all but he puts up with more shit than anyone in the league. So if he gets frustrated on occasion then so what, they guy is only human. Oh and don't forget that he's only 21 years old. People are haters and just like Kobe Bryant, Crosby will always have those who just look for ways to shit on him. You don't see as many people bitching about how Ovechkin runs people every game because people accept that it happens and move on. For some reason all the Crosby haters just love to bitch and whine about anything. |

Niedermayer is a great offensive player but Lidstrom is a better overall talent. Just watch the guy break up plays at the blue line. He's unbelievable even at this stage of his career. |

I've had a good laugh lately at all of the people saying that Sidney Crosby has been invisible in the finals up until game four. On ESPN the other day they had a fan quote on the front page that said "Sidney Crosby must be an acronym for invisible". It was a weak joke but most of all it was a ridiculous statement.
I'll assume that quote came from someone who only checks the boxscore the next day and says that if he didn't record a point then he must not have played well. I would like to think that a real hockey fan would know better. For those of you who are new to the game of hockey or those who refuse to watch the entire game please realize that you don't have to score a goal to have an impact on a game. You may or may not agree that Crosby is the best player in the game but trust me when I tell you that other teams focus their game plan on stopping him. He is the smartest offensive player in the game and at any moment he can create an offensive chance for himself or someone else. During the first two games in Detroit Crosby may not have scored but he was creating plenty of chances for himself and his teammates. A few unlucky bounces and some great defensive plays were all that stopped him from getting on the score sheet. Lets not also forget that he has been doing this with arguably the best two-way forward in the game covering him. Henrik Zetterberg is not just a great offensive talent, he is also one of the best in the game at shutting down opposing teams' offensive stars. As we have begun to see in the last two games Zetterberg's assignment may be starting to get to him physically. He looked tired during most of game four. It looks like the extra ice time as well as the difficult task of shadowing Crosby may be catching up to him. With Pavel Datsyuk out of the lineup Mike Babcock hasn't had the luxury of allowing both his stars to share in covering the Pens top stars. They seem to have decided on trying to limit Crosby as much as possible. This has allowed Evgeni Malkin to get good matchups throughout the series which he has taken advantage of. Call it the "Crosby Effect". Look for Babcock to make some adjustments for game five to try and slow down Malkin as well as Crosby. A Datsyuk return would be a big help at this point. But whether or not Datsyuk returns look for Detroit to be more focused defensively. Pittsburgh won't find it as easy to score at the Joe so look for game five to be a tightly contested affair likely to go under the total, currently 5.5 at Pinnacle. Good luck, Tritesy |

This may or may not change your views on the game but just wanted to let everyone know that Rafalski will not play tonight for the Wings.
Should be a good series. I'm liking Detroit in six. Story Good luck everyone |

The Giants have done a great job to improve their team so far but I continue to be puzzled about why they are reluctant to make a deal for Edwards.
According to the latest rumours, the Giants are moving on and concentrating on getting a top receiver in the draft. While this may make sense for most teams, the Giants are in a different situation. They have 10 picks in the draft and have their starters set at most positions. More than likely they will not be selecting 10 players come draft day since they don't have room for them on the roster. Their one obvious need is at receiver with the departure of Plaxico Burress. They have solid role players at the position but as we saw last year, after Burress decided to pull a 'Cheddar Bob', the G-Men struggled to score through the air. Hixon finished with only two scores and Steve Smith only had one. That just won't cut it. They need to get a guy who is a threat in the endzone. Edwards did have the drops last year but he is also the same guy who had 16 touchdowns the year before. Put him in the Giants offense and he should be able to put up similar type numbers. More importantly, the Giants are not going to find a guy who will be able to put up big numbers in the draft. Yes, there are some solid receivers that should have good careers but the Giants need someone who can contribute now. While reading a story about the top receivers in the draft I came across this interesting stat... Since the 2000 draft there have been 37 receivers taken in the first round. Guess how many went on to have a 1000 yard seasons in their first year? One! Michael Clayton is the only guy to go over 1000 yards in his rookie campaign since 2000. Now I know the idea is build through the draft and Jerry Reese has done a great job in the past but this team is built to win now. It's time to pick up the phone and make a deal. Give the Browns a first and third round pick. If they want more give them a fifth as well but get it done. What do you think? And do you see any other interesting trade possibilites? * And look for the San Jose Sharks (-136 at Pinnacle) to even their series with the Ducks tonight. |

Pens game should be a battle tonight. I like the under 5.5 but the PL could be worth a shot as well because as sean2114 mentioned, there is a good chance for an empty net goal. Let's hope for a 3-1 Pens win tonight.
Also liking the Wings PL. They have dominated the Jackets in every game and don't see that changing tonight. Good luck |

I can't believe how terrible some teams in the tournament have been at shooting from the charity stripe this year. Haven't these guys practiced this every day of their lives for the past 10 years or more.
We all know that this part of the game has been ignored more and more by players after suffering through painful trips to the line from guys like Shaq, Dwight Howard and Tim Duncan but it is getting worse. And it's no longer just the big men who go to the line looking like they are praying for some divine intervention. How does, Blake Griffin, the leading candidate for player of the year only shoot 58.7% from the line? Dejuan Blair looked like he knew he was going to miss everytime he went to the line yesterday and just seemed to laugh it off. His misses were a big reason Pitt lost that game. I'm not a big Tyler Hansbrough guy but you have to like the fact that he has worked on this part of his game knowing that he will spend a significant amount of time taking freebies. And while I don't think he will make much of a pro, the fact that he can go in and be agressive and know that he can knock them down at the line is going to help his chances for more playing time at the next level. Look for Carolina to cover the seven (Pinnacle) today thanks to superior guard play and ultimately because they will make the free ones when they count. Good luck everyone. |

According to a story on ESPN, the appeal in the Barry Bonds perjury case could take over a year for a decision to be made. This delay has lead Bonds' agent to come out today and announce that he will be contacting all 30 teams in hopes of getting a contract for Barry.
There is very little chance that any team is going to give this guy a contract. He tried last year unsuccessfully and it seems unlikely that a team will decide that now would be a better time to add him to the lineup. Well I say now is the perfect time for the Blue Jays to sign this guy ASAP. The Blue Jays are going to be one of the worst teams in the Majors this year. They will finish last in their division and will be struggling all year to find a way to get people in the seats. Unless Roy Halladay is throwing you have to wonder why anyone would want to shell out their hard earned money to watch these guys. It's going to be a depressing year in the T-Dot. Why not throw a few million at Barry and let him swing for the fences? This guy wants to play and will probably take any reasonable offer right now. Some people will probably say... Why bring in a side show like Barry? Well he may be a bit of a side show but I believe he can also be productive, even at 45. He still has the potential to hit 25-30 HRs. He also has a high OBP every year. He hasn't had an OBP less than .400 since 1999. I won't go on about stats because we all know he filled the stats sheet for years but the more important thing is getting someone to try and excite the fans. Free bobbleheads aren't going to do it for long. Toronto has the money so why not take a chance and see what happens. I don't care if the guy took steroids. I don't care if anyone took steroids. It happened, get over it. Give the guy a chance to see if he can still do it. You have to admit that you're at least curious. Oh and grab the under on Blue Jays wins for 2009. Sports Interaction has the total listed at 80.5. I see a 70-75 win season. What do you think? |

Every year at my office we compete in an Oscars office pool and for the
past two years I have lost by one point... one lousy point.
I figure I'm due for a win so I thought I would share a few of my predictions and see if I can't help everyone find some good value for tonight's show. Sports Interaction has odds for all of the major categories so here are my predictions for each: Best Adapted Screenplay: Slumdog Millionaire (-400) Best Costume Design: The Duchess (-189) - Movies with elaborate costumes are always a good bet to take home this category. Best Original Screenplay: Milk (-152) - Milk could be considered for Best Picture but will have to settle for this. Best Music Score: Slumdog Millionaire (-250) - Slumdog will most likely grab this one but if you're looking for a dark horse you could take a chance on Wall-E at +500. Best Original Song: Jai Ho (-200) - Wouldn't be surprised though if Down To Earth (+162) grabbed this one. Best Foreign Language Film: Waltz With Bashir (-200) Best Director: Danny Boyle (-1000) - Probably not worth putting anything down on this one at this price. Best Supporting Actress: Penelope Cruz (-143) - I figure Cruz is due since she probably should have won for her role in Volver. This category is always the most likely to supply the biggest upset of the night so if you are looking for some value put some cash down on Viola Davis (+550) for her role in Doubt. Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger - I guess Sports Interaction figured there wasn't much point in putting up odds for this one since the award has probably already been handed over to Ledger's daughter Matilda. If anyone else wins this one you can expect to hear the only boos of the night. Best Actress: Kate Winslet (-400) - She was probably nominated for the wrong movie but she should still take home the trophy. She's 0-5 so far in her Oscar career so expect her to finally break that slump. Best Actor: Sean Penn (+187) - This is probably the most difficult decision I had to make this year. I would really like to see Mickey Rourke win. Both gave great performances and deserve to win but my gut is telling me to go with Penn. Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire (-1000) - I don't think anyone is expecting Slumdog to lose this one but if you're looking for a 'Crash Like' upset then take a chance on Milk (+2000). Here's another one available at Sports Interaction that I think is the best bet of the night: Kate Winslet cries while accepting Oscar (+100) - This is just too easy. Did anyone see her at the Golden Globes. She cried like her dog just died. Cry away Kate, cry away. Good luck tonight. |

Watching the Grammys is about as entertaining as watching Lost. You end up feeling robbed of precious time and may be a bit dumber as a result.
At least the Grammys has the possibility of an egocentric Kanye West rant about how he is the greatest entertainer of all time. Although I won't be watching it's always worth checking out the odds to look for some value. Sportsbook.com released odds for five of the awards so I thought I'd give my thoughts on who I think will win, who should win and some possible dark horses. BEST ROCK ALBUM: Coldplay (Viva La Vida) -200 Kid Rock (Rock N Roll Jesus) +700 Kings Of Leon (Only By The Night) +500 Metallica (Death Magnetic) +300 The Raconteurs (Consolers Of The Lonely) +1000 - Kid Rock, are you kidding me? How do you get nominated for Rock Album of the Year when your single is a bad rip off? The other four nominees brought us solid albums but having Kid Rock nominated is just ridiculous. How about some recognition for some lesser known bands that are coming out with good music like MGMT, Fleet Foxes or The Black Keys. I'm sure you guys could pile more to the list as well. I just wish these awards shows would start to recognize bands who don't get the commercial success but are putting out better quality albums. WILL WIN: COLDPLAY SHOULD WIN: THE RACONTEURS BEST RAP ALBUM: Jay-Z (American Gangster) +700 Lil Wayne (Tha Carter III) -400 Lupe Fiasco (The Cool) +1500 Nas (Nas) +1500 TI (Paper Trail) +300 Pretty much what you would expect here. Jay-Z gets the nod by reputation alone in this one though. American Gangster was a decent album but why not throw some love to Q-Tip for "The Renaissance" (Possibly the best Rap Album of 2008) or The Roots for "Rising Down". Honourable mention to Ice Cube for "Raw Footage". Can't say I'm a huge Lil Wayne fan but this might be his first album I would purchase. WILL WIN: LIL WAYNE SHOULD WIN: LIL WAYNE DARK HORSE: NAS (Probably the best as far as lyrics are concerned) RECORD OF THE YEAR: Adele (Chasing Pavements) +600 Cold Play (Viva La Vida) +150 Leona Lewis (Bleeding Love) +125 M.I.A (Paper Planes) +400 R Plant & A Krauss (Please Read the Letter) +800 Ouch! Can't say that I'm a huge fan of any of these although "Paper Planes" is definitely one of those songs I can't get out of my head after hearing it on the radio. WILL WIN: LEONA LEWIS (At least Greyhound will be happy) SHOULD WIN: M.I.A. SONG OF THE YEAR: Adele (Chasing Pavements) +600 Coldplay (Viva La Vida) -250 Estelle (American Boy) +800 Jason Mraz (I am Yours) +800 Sara Bareilles (Love Song) +500 Once again, not an outstanding list but what can you do? I wouldn't even say that "Viva La Vida" was the best song off of Coldplay's album. I have to say that "American Boy" would be my pick. WILL WIN: COLDPLAY SHOULD WIN: ESTELLE ALBUM OF THE YEAR: Coldplay (Viva La Vida or Death & All His Friends) -150 Lil Wayne (Tha Carter III) +175 Ne Yo (Year of Gentleman) +1200 R Plant & A Krauss (Raising Sand) +500 Radiohead (In Rainbows) +800 This is the category that gets interesting every year. Remember Herbie Hancock winning as a +1400 dog last year? This award always seems to provide the best chance for an upset. There could be some good value in throwing down some cash on Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. The Recording Academy loves to give awards to Krauss and having Robert Plant with her certainly isn't going to hurt. WILL WIN: LIL WAYNE (This guy was everywhere. I'm pretty sure that if I recorded a song he would have wanted a few bars) SHOULD WIN: RADIOHEAD DARK HORSE: ROBERT PLANT & ALISON KRAUSS Who do you think takes home the awards? And if you have some albums that you recommend please feel free to list them. Enjoy the show... if you have nothing better to do. |

Definitely Nirvana but Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam were also great. Always great to see bands who can put on a great show unplugged. Hasn't been many bands lately that could put on a performance like these.

Let me start by saying that I fully support fighting in hockey. It is a part of the game and despite the views of some fans it does not need to be banned.
The requests for change have once again started after a junior hockey player in Ontario passed away recently after hitting his head on the ice during a fight. We can all agree that this was very tragic and I completely understand why some may feel the need for change. The problem I have is that whenever something like this happens everyone gets worked up and feels the need to call for a complete ban of fighting in hockey. Let's not get carried away here folks. The more reasonable question that should be asked is, what can be done to keep players safe from suffering a major injury during a fight? The choice should still be left up to the players if they want to take part in a fight. Players know that there is a risk involved each and every time they drop the mitts. The Ontario Hockey League has recently implemented a rule that gives an automatic one-game suspension to players if their helmet comes off during a fight. While I think that this may be a good rule in all Junior leagues I don't think that the NHL needs to follow their lead. The NHLPA has recently said that the Player's Association wants the league's Competition Committee to review player safety issues related to fighting. This would include looking at issues such as players removing their helmets before a fight. I believe that this is something that should be looked into but it should not be forgotten that many of the injuries caused during a fight are due to players hurting themselves by punching an opponents helmet. If two players both agree to remove their buckets before a fight then so be it. These guys are professional athletes and should be given the choice. The NHL has bigger things to worry about than changing the rules of fighting. How about changing how the all-star teams are selected for starters. The is no way Mike Komisarek and Alexei Kovalev should be starting in the all-star game. Let's move on and enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played, including a good scrap or two. Keep an eye out for a possible beauty tonight if anyone in Florida is willing to dance with Riley Cote of the Flyers. That guy can throw knuckles with the best of them. And for what it's worth I think Philly is a good bet for a bounce back win after getting thumped by Tampa last night. You have to like them as a +100 dog in Florida. Odds from Sports Interaction. |
