Can only lose by more than 6 in OT in the NFL if the team with the ball first makes a FG and then the team with the ball second turns it over in their own end zone and the team up 3 recovers it in the end zone to win by 9. Hasn't happened yet to my knowledge under these new rules rules. A turnover anywhere else on the field under these circumstances and the play is dead and the margin of victory is 3.

It's all about television and ratings and the better the matchup, the more that can be charged for advertising. This is in the leagues' (not just the NFL, but all major sports leagues including college football) best interest since the vast majority of their budget is derived from none other than television. All owners split tv revenue, so their motivation is for the best matchups to be on tv, not to win games.

Do you really think a Jacksonville vs Arizona Super Bowl would draw in the same advertising money as a Denver-NYG Super Bowl played on the stadium their father played in?   Would there be a better script if Peyton Manning made it to the Super Bowl after a year off?  After he wins it this year, someone from the NFL or media will even say, "they couldn't have scripted it any better" just to rub it in. Think about it.

College football and all the television revenue it now derives is the same way. Do you really think Kansas St. could have made it to the BCS championship?  Or does the better tv matchup lie with a national following of Notre Dame who has their own network against the team many were saying could beat an NFL team a few weeks ago?  Is it merely a coincidence Matt Barkley isn't playing Saturday?  Think about it.

If you want to bet on the fix before it happens, bet Notre Dame on the ML Saturday (I see a win and non-cover by 3 so it's not obvious), then take Alabama on the ML in the SEC championship game vs Georgia (again I see a win and non-cover for Alabama so it looks on the up and up), and then take Notre Dame on the ML at around +400 when they play Alabama in the BCS title game. Bringing Notre Dame back with all of their following nationwide and the tv money they will bring in is far too much for them to ignore. Think about it.

Also take Denver to win it all and thank me later. Name a better script to win it all where daddy played.

It's all about the Benjamins baby. I could go on and on about this. It's coaches, referees, owners (or conference commissioners), and select players who get this done. Not every game is predetermined, only the ones that really matter, whether it be the championship game, or the games that set up who gets there.
