1. with runners in scoring position 2 outs, the Giants have score 16 runs in 15 games: over 1 run a game which is key to their 6 straight winning streak in playoffs.
Tigers has scored only 5 out of 12 postseason games this year, thats less than half a run per game. 2. With more than 6 days of rest, Matt Cain has an ERA of 2.63 & 0.95 WHIP while going 2-1. Max Scherzer has an ERA of 5.27 & 1.53 WHIP while going 1-0. 3. Vogelsong has specifically said at postgame interview that he has shared a lot of knowledge of the Tigers hitters with Cain and i see this only puts Cain in a even better position as he has career average of 1.83 ERA & 1.08 WHIP while going 4-2 in postseason. Cain is a big game pitcher while Scherzer has yet to prove himself in October 4. Scherzer has averaged less than 5 innings per start in all starts from Sep to Oct combined, which is a concern as tigers relievers are shorthanded after last night's game. 5. Giants has better defense and fundamentals such as running and bunting than Tigers. |

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Ryan Vogelsong (2-0, 1.42 ERA) vs. Tigers RH Anibal Sanchez (1-1, 1.35)
Vogelsong has proven himself that he is a big game pitcher after outings against Reds, and the two games against Cardinals. Both the Reds and Cardinals are one of the best teams in the Majors. Sanchez's numbers in the postseason are inflated thanks to the horrendous Yankees lineup. Sanchez is terrible at home with 5-7 record with ERA of 4.52 and a WHIP of 1.32, those are Chien-Ming Wang-worthy numbers. the opponents he has beaten this year in the AL: Indians, Royals, Jays, ( Yankees in postseason). Vogelsong has yet to trail after 5 innings or even the whole game in this year's postseason. Giants hitters are much better than the Tigers and i expect Vogelsong to do it once again on the road. two picks: Vogelsong -105 1st 5 inn +0.5 Vogelsong +140 is the pick.

Jazz +5.0 @ Clippers
Jazz boasts one of the best benches in the preseason and they don't intend to play loose tonight against the clippers. After getting back from China, they will not be able to matched up with jazz's energy and will to win. the books still underrate the jazz squad, in the meantime, why don't we cash in with them? |

Nuggets +2.0 @ Blazers
NBA Preseason Picks: Nuggets +2.0 @ Blazers
The Blazers have yet to play in front of their home crowd, nevertheless, their rival Nuggets will come in with set offense and defense whereas the Blazers are still trying to gel as a team. Blazers lack depth and will not be able to match up with the quickness Nuggets possess. |

Yankees @ Tigers +105
Going with Scherzer here, he's been unstoppable this year with 8-2 record after all-star game and 7-3 at home this year excluding the gem he threw at oakland. The yankees lost Jeter which is a big minus that could be costly late in the game and the yankees are in the biggest slump of the year offensively. even with A-rod back in the lineup, hes not going to be useful as he is 0-9 against scherzer in his career. Tigers are determined to sweep the Yankees off the board as Leyland will do whatever it takes to win this game.

Giants +115 @ Cardinals
Matt Cain is god in the playoffs as his career postseason ERA is 1.69 whereas Lohse sports a terrible 4.42 Cain also vows to seek revenge for Scutaro. Giants is more experienced than a lot of people give them credit for as they were the 2010 World Series Champ, they will prevail in St. Louis tonight. **** 2 UNIT PLAY |

NBA Preseason Picks: Bucks +3.0 @ Bulls Bucks has more offense, and hungrier team in the preseason as Tom Thibodeau is still trying to adjust what works for the bulls team without Rose, meanwhile this is an perfect opportunity to cash in against the bulls.

NBA Preseason Picks:
Rockiets +6.0 Coming off a loss at home against one of the smartest teams in spurs in the league, the Rockets are off to their neighborhood to face the Mavericks. two of the Mavs starters are in big problems right now, Dirk has serious knee issues and Mayo has laceration on his shooting hand, not to mention the new and terribly-formed Mavs bench, all point to a covering-spread by the Rockets as they are young and more hungry in the pre-season. |

NBA Preseason Picks: 76ers -1.5 76ers bench out-talents that of Celtics, thus has much more stability. this is also the first home game in the preseason for the 76ers. i see the 76ers come out strong and win this one at home. in addition, KG is questionable (extra rest).

Should be Heat -8.0 or -8.5 By adding Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis, the Heat's big 3 can play a loosen style of basketball thanks to their great ability to knock down 3's. However, they are a liability on the defensive end and it will take a while for Allen and Lewis to adjust to the Heat's style of play. Meanwhile, The Celtics also got a new player in Jason Terry, who, along with Courtney Lee and Jeff Green will come off the bench, i believe this trio can score and defend and they are highly-underrated. Heat went 2-3 against the spread at home and 3-2 SU after April 1st last season. Losing Allen will hurt a bit, but the Celtics are a veteran team that will adjust their style of play. Having said that, i believe LeBron will try to be unselfish and want to distribute the ball to everyone, especially allen, on purpose and indirectly affect the team as a whole. I see a close game on opening night. Early Lean: Boston Celtics +8 |
