Sports:  Baseball.  One of the only American team sports I never played so I don't understand the strategy.  I grew up playing hockey and soccer so what I'm watching is a very slow paced sport.  I find it the games extremely long and boring, and the season are way too long.  162 games of a lot of nothing.

Hobby:  Modern day video games, or "Gaming."  I also don't understand how people enjoy watching other people play video games.  They air this sh!t on TBS so I'm pissed when I want to watch a syndicated episode of Seinfeld and they have a bunch of virgins playing video games against each other.  I stopped playing after the Playstation when I was in middle school but was  also a huge fan of the Nintendo (Tyson's Punch Out, Contra, Mega Man 2 and 3, Metroid, Ring King, Goal, Blades of Steel, ExciteBike) and the Super Nintendo (Super Mario Wolrd, The Legend of Zelda, F-Zero, Mortal Kombat 1 and 2, Mega Man X, All Madden Football, NHL 94-96).  I'm 33 and a grown-@ss man, and I find it comical that other grown-@ss men never outgrew this hobby.  Sure, I like to phuck around every now and then to play the classics, but I have buddies and family members that sit on their @sses and have it consume hours of their adult lives.  Ugh

Other:  Politics.  I don't care to discuss it with anyone, escpeciallt in-person.  First, everyone thinks they're right when it comes to they way people are governed.  People get so upset, angry and they take politics very personally.  Listen fellas, the sanctity of the voting booth is one of the greatest cornerstones of American democracy so keep that sh!t to yourself.  It's a good way to feud with others that you would normally get along with if they don't believe in the same politics as yo delf!

Sometime a guy just needs to shoot the dirt w/ a bunch of strangers on the internet.  Otherwise, you could end up randonly punching holes in some walls.  To Proto and shooting the dirt!

Are you kidding me Van!  You just recently discovered all of the gems in there!  So many great ones especially from Nosehair and FartnSniff.  That's when the GD forum was in its hayday.

The dude sleeping w/ his sister.  The dude confronting his neighbor and getting punched for it.  Or SupBro; Covers own Al Bundy re-living his Polk High School football career.  That dude can bench press some serious weight.

Thanks fellas.

All of this makes a lot of sense.  Excuse my ignorance.

I obviously am not a fan of pro ball but I love the NCAA.

it seems the officiating is a lot less loose and fouls aren't called for breathing too heavy on a guy.  If they'd let "the players play" a little, the NBA would be a little more appealing.

I hear about the 1980s Pistons and how physical they were, and that's what I would like to see from today's league.  More phsyical, less calls.

Basketball officiating isn't as bad as soccer.  One crucial call can determine the outcome of a game.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I did not want this to get buried in the NBA forum.  I hear stories from other members over the years about the bashing and juvenile comments made in said forum so I'm posting among the Good People that frequent this GD forum.

OBJECTIVELY, WHY DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT HOME COURT ADVANTAGE PLAYS SUCH A BIG ROLE IN THE OUTCOME OF A GAME/PLAYOFF SERIES?  DO CALLS/OFFICIATING OFTEN FAVOR THE HOME SIDE?

I don't know how avid NBA fans can tolerate it.  Celtics dominate at home and get blown out when they visit Cleveland.  Come back home and win fairly easily.

I'm an NHL fan, and any seed can advance to the next round if momentum and the teams are playing well.  It doesn't seem to me that dogs in the NBA ever have a shot at upsetting a top seeded team.

Thoughts?

Never been to Vegas, the Northwest or Winnipeg.  Every places has its pros and cons.  Personally, I have to live in the North East USA.  Anything is better than Florida.  Tampa is a nice city to visit but living there is punishment.  At least Vegas is dry heat.  If it's not humid enough in Florida around 90% or so, a 2 minute downpour followed by immediate sunshine will take care of that.

I think this Vegas story is a movie in the making.  I've been rooting for them since the Devils were ousted in the First Round.  Go Golden Knights!

I hope they play the Caps

No joke.  Last year, my sister's brother-in-law (a 50 year old man) called the Po-lease because some Black fella was literally walking down his street.  He lives in Westfield, which is one of the more upscale communities in Union County, New Jersey and his justification was that "he looked suspicious and there aren't many Black people that live here".

I couldn't help but laugh and I break my sister's husbands' b@lls about it.  I told them to take his soft @ss to the block where we grew up, hahaha.  "Oh no!  It's a Black man!  Run or call the Po po."  an_roll_laugh

I'm not saying he looks like Obama did as a kid. He looks like a grown man, Obama specifically, turned into a kid. And he's a Vin Diesal. You can't quite tell what he is. Is he mixed? Is he hispanic? Dark complected white kid, like a Portugeezy type? Middle-eastern?

He does look like one of those Portu-gee types.  When in doubt, look at the hair.  Plenty of these kids outside playing in the Ironbound.

I did finally see this direct-tv commercial.  Common theme of lady throwing out dude's belongings after what she presummably discovers his side-peice action.

If dude does anything to retaliate and the issue escalates, it's all on the dude when the Po-lease show up.  Even if it's just a shouting match.  Ah, but this is life.  Dude will not win.

I don't know about this commercial, but I hate that little kid from the Eucrisa commercial who says, "And it's steroid free!"

There's just nothing there to convict a defendant with real evidence. I fail to see how anyone can see it as "unfortunate" that an appellate court refuses to allow a guilty verdict if "there's just nothing there to convict a defendant with real evidence." Cosby will have absolutely no shot at any appeal because the I's were dotted & the T's were crossed. Cosby is absolute toast & will definitely go to jail. Look into the fact that at the first trial the Judge did not allow the testimony of the four women, whom he later retracted in the second trial, and allowed them to testify, (how hypocritical can a judge be) a motion was filed at the begining of the trial, and is now in the Pennsyvania appellate court where as a decision will be made before his sentencing; a mis-trial in the making, there were also an additional 4 more motions filed during the trial, all recieved by the court of appeals, where as decisions will be made within a 3 month time frame...lets say all of them are not granted, your looking at appeal bonds, and years of decision making by the courts...He'll be dead before he has to serve any time..that is the meaning of my statement " he'll never spend a day behind bars" they wanted a confiction, and didn't care if it came above the law. "he was railroaded by a Kangaroo court,  a bias judge...and one very outside- the- box DA...

I think this pretty much sums up what will eventually happen.
