@JudgeBaylor Other the the Utah game and not including Long Island (FCS school), Baylor has been outscored 59-16 in first quarters and 101-26 in first halves this season. Last 3 games overall the halftime scores have been 28-6, 28-7 and 17-3. On the Cincy side, the Bearkats have scored 53 points in the first half of their last 5 games while giving up 62. Just data for those who are interested. |

@RUM151 I hear you ... although over the years Texas has shown the regular bad game against a much lesser opponent. Houston is not good this year at all. But they will definitely show up Saturday against UT. If the Horns actually show up and play, no question they cover 24. But, I could absolutely see Texas coming off the OU loss still hanging their head a little and not dialed in to play the Cougars. Which could result in a smaller margin of victory than it should be. On the other side, OU has consistently shown a willingess to show up in games like this at home and just drum people. When OU has lost games they were favored in it has been because the defense didn't show up against a team with a good offense that can hit explosive plays. Think the last 2 KSU losses. But, that's not UCF. At all. I fully expect OU to cover 20 by half. |

WahooS - you're a legend. Always have been. Appreciate your work. Always follow your thread.
My Bears have lost the first half by double digits in 4 of 5 games this year (not including Long Island game as they aren't a legit team). On the road after a bye week I don't see them reversing that trend at all.
Someone asked earlier about the OU/UCF game -- also would like your thoughts on Sooner covering at home. UCF with backup QB on the road and OU looking to hold their ranking feels like a Sooner blowout. |

Also, an angle on the Baylor-Texas Tech game that may be worth noting -- there's more than a bit of anger on the Baylor side because former coordinator Joey McGuire (now TT HC) took a couple of recruiting staff with him and there has been more than a bit of negative recruiting by Joey and those guys against Baylor. I'm not excited about where Baylor football is right now and before the miracle comeback against UCF absolutely would have expected a loss to Texas Tech. However, with the Baylor comeback, starting QB back and Tech sitting at 2-3 playing a backup QB on the road -- alot of motivation for the home team here. |

@WahooS Did you end up taking Liberty/Sam Houston over? If I missed it later in the thread, my apologies. @WahooS Does Rising returning make a difference to your recommendation? |

@rush Don't you think today is a must win for OU to get in the tourney? OSU is ineligible for postseason and the Sooners need this one bad. |

Posted in a thread earlier today. I don't get why so many people were picking Baylor today. The big who got hurt JTT is very much the glue guy and enforcer inside. Him going down for the season hurts the Bears and there are not 2 bigs behind him who fill the gap. There is one other big who at times plays well but other times does not. The third big is a sophomore who prefers to be a stretch 4 and has played no meaningful minutes yet in his career. Cryer back helps on the perimeter but first game back you have to expect him to be rusty. He hasn't played since January 25th. Finally, Texas Tech in Lubbock is a bear to deal with. Great crowd, great energy, great effort. The Red Raiders are very difficult to beat at their place. Baylor with a key interior starter out and another starter just coming off a 3 week haitus means the chances were slim Baylor would pull out a W tonight. And, yes, I did bet the game per the above. |

@ap2oo4 Why? Tech undefeated at home. Baylor has 2 starters out. And I'm a Baylor guy. |

This is a potential letdown spot for Tech. They were on a run when they beat Baylor and went on the road to KSU and laid an egg. Tech is a team led by emotion. Eventually emotions run dry. Plus, anyone in the Big 12 will tell you everyone knows what they're going to face at KU -- a great crowd for sure and very lopsided officiating. EVERY TIME. Tech will come out fighting but I expect KU will forge a lead and the free throws will widen it. Tech is due for a loss. In order to win at Phog Allen you have to beat the Jayhawks by 15 to win by 1 on the scoreboard. Everyone knows it. |

Providing this information as a public service to Covers bettors. Use this info as you see fit. Baylor is unlikely to have starting point guard James Akinjo and starting forward Jeremy Sochan today against WVU. If either does play (which I don't believe they will) neither will be close to 100%. Akinjo tried to play against Oklahoma State and couldn't finish the game with a bruised tailbone. Sochan has been out a couple of weeks now with an ankle injury. Morgantown has consistently been a tough road spot for Baylor anyway. Just a heads up. |

@LonghornHoosier Do you stay away from betting the Horns? Just curious. I try to stay away from Baylor. Just too conflicted. |

Akinjo is a big question mark for the Bears. Without him I would not put money on Baylor covering today. |

Missouri is +14 at the Hogs after beating Bama in their last game? Arkansas has lost 3 in a row? Are there major covid scratches for Mizzou? The line seems very high. |
