Another nice one Chris - You, ValueforRent, and Rod Steel are my personal MUST reads on the site... And as usual, the contrarian reasoning does you justice once more.

VFR -
Lakers last year went into Cleveland and Boston and chalked up wins at both locales, sending the Cavs to their first loss of the season at home. They may very well be the team that emerges victorious tonight.

Their management is not better than 60-70% of other loser managments teams that you or I could run with minimal effort. Don't confuse the NO team of 1-2 years ago to these losers. Thats why Chris Paul is one bitter motherfu%3er..... Chandler ran the floor w/ Paul whereas Okafor is a slow, traditional-styled center - also lost Butler to the Clips and he kept defenses honest somewhat (more than Posey has during his tenure w/ NO). They're no where close to being the same as last year let alone the dangerous unit they were 2 years back.

May be that management would entertain moving Martin later this season if the team fares well in his absence.

More than ample motivation as you would find up on a board in the dressing room.

You do realize this is their normal offense, right? That everyone except Howard races to the perimeter to shoot a 3 and for Howard to rebound a miss that's inside the key whereas everyone else waits for a long board. They didn't run anything differently from what they've been doing all season. |

Nice call once more VFR - didn't get a chance to read this thread before the game commenced, but had parsed the same side based on own reflections concerning the teams involved.
Again, excellent read - really commend you on the instinctual 'feel' you possess. |

More like assessing whether or not Odom was able to secure high quality kush to light up before the game. I was watching the game, and saying it during the run, call timeout. It was basically a 16-4 run by himself, williams scored the first bucket of the run. That just should not happen, not one guy going on a 16-4 run in such a short period of time. Hey, you're right about everything and I acquiesce to your superior knowledge and perceptive prowess. It was an awesome show, too bad Skiles was caught up in it himself, just staring at Lebron. What a joke, how do you explain that. LeBron is LeBron... When he decides to get going, what are you going to do? Take him down w/ a flagrant 2 foul? As for the Orlando announcers, Matt Goukas is a HOMER - he's never had a bad word to say about anybody on the Magic team; he was a far better player than a coach (76ers/Magic - a dazzling career record of 203-305); of course he's going to embellish anything the Magic do on the floor... And cast aspersions about the shortcomings of opposing teams. Skiles was a marginal talent who willed himself into a player @ Michigan State and his teams may falter b/c of the personnel, not b/c of him - look at the Bucks last year defensively versus now - 180 degree difference - you want to talk about inept coaching, talk about Larry Krystkowiak... |

The team is down 2 starters in Bogut and Redd; expecting an inconsistent quantity such as Villaneuva to continue his torrid streak is unfounded - Jefferson will get his, but the return of Ridnour has stymied Sessions's playing time and point production. Notice how even the absence of Garnett and bench players such as Davis, Scalabrine, etc. has hampered the Celtics as of late? Now take OUT 2 starters as indicated...
Skiles has kept this Bucks team more competitive than it should've been at points during the season; this blowout by the Magic is more revealing in the lack of personnel Skiles has to work w/ as opposed to his lack of coaching acumen. |

Would be most befitting if they lost in the 1st round for just coasting and going through the motions for the better part of the season, leaving them to fester like rotting eggs, wondering about 'what could've been'...
