Started to look at these two games very closely and I really like Ottawa as a home dog ( +127 ) against Chicago and Carolina as a home favorite ( -145 ) against the Islanders.

Price coming off his worse year in the NHL and the word is his groin injury recovery still lingers. I hope I'm wrong for your sake but think Toronto blows them out here. Torontol PL -1.5 +115 looks to carry more value, IMO. BOL to all. |

Recall...
Colorado lost the NL Wildcard game last year in a bitter defeat against Arizona. I don't think they've forgotten and despite travel and a 3rd game in as many nights, I believe they come out hot and swinging tonight. RL +1.5 is at -165 and although juicy is only 25basis points more than Cubs ML @ -140. I'll take the runs and the hotter bats here. This isn't going to be a blow out game and see significant value @+1.5. BOL to all.

I normally don't bet football but was advised Dallas on the ML was a solid play.
You read all kinds of threads about games being scripted and fixed but after what I saw last night it was evidently clear to me the officials had a Dallas bias all night. They weren't even discreet about it. I don't know how you guys deal with it week in and out. Iron cast stomachs and big bank rolls ? Much respect. |

AJ....No, you don't have to start with a clean slate and a new team each year.....but you do have to start somewhere.
Immerse yourself and become an EXPERT on a team or two. You are competing against experts with vasts amount of information and technology who want to take your money. Betting multiple games per night on multiple teams swings the delta in the books favor immensely. Don't do it. I don't have time to research the entire NHL anyway, who does ? Focusing your research on one team provides an edge and presents angles which increases odds for success. Think of this way....do you want to gamble your money on a chance or do you want to invest your money with a team and get PAID as a Professional Predictor on whether they win or lose ? This is a business for me....not a hobby. Treat it as a part time job and get rewarded properly for your expertise ! |

Pick one or two teams only and follow them every single game.
You'll start to see trends in their travel schedule, how they match up against other teams. When to bet their back up goalie and when not to. Follow their injury reports and when they're bringing in kids from their AHL affiliate. Once you know a team inside and out and become intimate with the club it becomes much easier to cap their games. I guarantee your success rate will dramatically improve. I see guys posting 4 or 5 bets a night on various teams. I don't see the rhyme or reason behind this at all. Hockey is a tough enough sport to cap and there is significantly more parity in the league than ever before. Price in the heavy ML odds we face and it gets even more difficult. Sure, you may get hot once in awhile but over the long haul you're going to lose money. Proof Positive. I've been following the Minnesota Wild this season since game one. I'm 20-5 and 1 push for an 80% success rate. This strategy works if you're serious about making money and disciplined to follow it. BOL to all. https://contests.covers.com/Consensus/PickLeadersByTeam/cff97c48-99ea-4f2c-9f88-a32400b07dcc/NHL

Either way, betting on Vegas at home isn't a bad strategy at least so far. I don't disagree with this, AJ However, I'm not buying for a second the reason why they're doing well at home is because opponents are out partying before games. Plenty of big hubs have T&A Clubs and Bars.....Manhattan, Montreal, Tampa..... don't kid yourself, these kids are on a tight leash and the veterans are mentoring them. There might be a isolated instances but as a rule of thumb it's not the night life in a particular city causing a team to play better or worse at home or on the road. BOL of luck on all plays.

Hockey players are not tested like other leagues. Young players are going out clubbing and partying like a bunch of animals. Moneyline is always low Really ? Who's told you this ? Have you seen these players out in Vegas partying ? NHL players are some of the most disciplined athletes on the planet. If you're using this as a capping angle I'd hate to break it to ya bud but you're wrong. Vegas has got an aggressive hard skating club. Every play, every shift, every period. THIS is why they are successful......not because their opponents are out on the strip doing blow and up until 3am at the clubs.
