Mets, WIN +1 UNIT
Cubs, LOSS -1 UNIT Even on the day, Astros pending. Wish I fired on the Snakes and Sox! Oh well, can still have another profitable day with an Astros cover. |

Last night:
Mets, WIN +2 UNITS Tonight's plays: Mets -150 (Harvey/Phelps) 1 UNIT Big advantage on the bump for the Metropolitans here tonight. In his last 5 starts, Matt Harvey is 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA. The key here is consistency. He has put up quality starts but his W-L does not reflect it due to the Mets anemic offense. However, this is a completely different ball club since the deadline. Quite frankly, this is simply a team that you cannot afford to fade right now. Cubs +119 (Haren/Locke) 1 UNIT Dan Haren's first start in a Cubs uniform. Another big pitching advantage as Jeff Locke has been trending the wrong way in his last 3 starts going only 17 and a 1/3 with an ERA over 5. Great value pick. Astros -1.5 +105 (Kazmir/Martinez) Scott Kazmir has been absolutely lights out this past month. In his 5 starts in July, he went 2-0 with a 0.26 ERA. He has had success against the Rangers this year, and I look for that to continue. The Stros may struggle on the road, but Scott Kazmir is definitely the guy who can help get them out of that slump. Potentially more plays coming... Looking at the D-backs and Red Sox both at juicy prices |

TONIGHT: Mets, WIN +2 UNITS YTD 6-3-1 +7.37 UNITS I posted in yesterday's thread around 1am that I locked this play in last night. 4th profitable day in a row. Leans went 3-0, but of those three I only played the Yanks TT over 4.5. Didn't get a chance to create a new thread today so for all the sticklers on here I won't add that to my record. Early Leans for Wednesday 8/5/15: Cubs +110 (Haren/Locke) Diamondbacks +140 (De La Rosa/Gonzalez) Mets -150 (Harvey/Phelps) Astros -1.5 +115 (Kazmir/Martinez) |

TONIGHT: Astros, LOSS -1.23 UNITS Angels, WIN +3 UNITS YTD 5-3-1 +5.37 UNITS That's 3 profitable days in a row, let's keep it rolling. Early play locked in for tomorrow: Mets -115 (Niese/Hand) 2 UNITS Locking this in tonight as I feel the line will be closer to -130 by gametime. I backed the Mets in Niese's last start and had to watch as their bullpen squandered a 7-1 lead. Still scratching my head as to why he was pulled after 6 innings (84 pitches) having only given up 1 run. Just 5 days later, this is a completely different ball club. Look for Niese to pitch confidently once he gets some early run support from this reinvigorated lineup. Final Score: Mets 6, Marlins 2 First glance Leans: Royals (Duffy/Verlander) Cubs (Arrieta/Happ) Yanks TT over (not posted on my site yet, but anything below 5 will be a big play for me) |

1-1-1, +2 units tonight. Tough break on the Royals but got real lucky with the O's so it balanced out. Took the Cards awhile to get over 4, but that was by far one of the easiest bets on the board tonight. If Kendrick wasn't pulled after the 1st inning, it could have hit as early as the 3rd or 4th inning.
4-2-1 YTD +3.6 UNITS Early leans for tomorrow: Mets -145 (Ross/Degrom) Rays +110 (Moore/Kelly) Tigers +135 (Sanchez/Gausman) |

More of a reader than a poster but have been profitable, hope to keep it going. Any insight is welcomed and appreciated. Non-posted record (L9 weeks): 135-120-3 52.3% +19.79 units (profit is slightly skewed due to the occasional parlay) All units are $100. Posted record: 0-0-0 7/30/15 1 UNIT
Arrieta has truly been the Cubs most consistent starter this year. No Kris Bryant in the lineup tonight but I don't think that will be as big of an impact as most believe it to be due to the current hitting slump he is in. Nelson has been solid as of late posting a 5-1 record and 2.54 ERA in his last 6 starts, but Arrieta has been better at 5-1 with a 1.37 ERA in his last 7. I see this game as a pitcher's duel, but give the slight edge to the Cubs as they have the better offense. Final Score: Cubs 3, Brewers 1 Rangers +120 (Sabathia/Gallardo) 1 UNIT Rangers/Yanks over 9 runs -110 .5 UNIT Pineda was originally supposed to start but was scratched and CC is his replacement. Strange that the line only moved a few dollars, but the disparity between these two pitchers is too great to ignore. I was already leaning Rangers even if Pineda were to go, but have to pull the trigger against the aging Sabathia. This is likely to be Gallardo's last start in a Rangers uniform. Look for a big performance. Also leaning towards the over. Final Score: Rangers 7, Yankees 5 White Sox -1.5 (Sale/Wright) -110 1 UNIT As a Red Sox fan, it is tough to bet against this team. On paper, their lineup is a thing of beauty. From top to bottom, these guys should be able to win some games. However, their starting pitching has been absolutely atrocious. Their chance to avoid the sweep against the "other" Sox would have been in Game 2 against the gas-can Danks. The White Sox are one of the hottest teams in baseball after the All-Star break and look for that to continue tonight with their ace on the mound. Final Score: White Sox 6, Red Sox 2 |

When August comes and this forum empties out for everyone's favorite betting sport my focus will remain on MLB, because there is so much more money in a successful MLB season than in a successful NFL season. 256 opportunities is way short of 2,430 opportunities and the lines are far sharper, all of them at negative odds (-110). If the ability to handicap is there football does not hold 10% of the value of baseball as a betting sport. Many, many bookies exist only for the overwhelming volume of football and the almost guaranteed profits.
I would've disagreed with you about this a month ago, but in a few short weeks I've grown to love betting on baseball. Football has always been my #1 sport, both NFL and college. Then comes college basketball, and the occasional NBA game. But from reading your posts I've come to a better understanding of baseball. I would always get burned riding the big name pitchers who are always overvalued (MadBum, Kershaw, Lester) so I barely touched the sport, but in the past 3-4 weeks I've accumulated over 15 units which is huge for me. I've been making my own picks using some of the same angles that you use and it's been working really well. Thanks for all your time and effort! You've made a believer outta me. |
