The only NCAAF games currently with matchups are the games for tonight and tomorrow's game. Can you please make sure that you have matchup pages up for the rest of the games? That is a valuable tool for capping, and they are much appreciated. Typically, if the game is listed under the scores page, it will have a matchup, but these have been missing at times the past couple of weeks. For example, right now, only "line moves" is listed under the games where the matchup usually is. If you can fix that and get the matchups up it would be much appreciated. Lots of capping to do!

Train....Don't forget that Okie St is 11-1 in their last 12 under Gundy as a road fave. He's been automatic in that role, and a lot of them were healthy spreads. See lots of value in zona, since they should have beaten Toledo by 20+ last week, but i'm not messing with that trend.
You are absolutely on the right side with ASU. Illinois offense is atrocious, even with Scheelhaase they refuse to do anything more than 5 yards downfield. With him, they stink, without him, they are screwed, as O'Toole is terrified to do anything other than retreat to the fetal position. Defense is very strong again but they cannot score. IF ASU can notch 14, they cover IMO. |

If you take MSU just go with the money line. Illinois either blows people out or loses. None of their 13 wins were really that close, and every time they are in a nail biter they lose. They're having major problems figuring out how to win close games. In 4 or their 5 losses, the game was either tied or they were up in the final minute, only the Wisconsin game in Madison this past weekend wasn't down to the wire. When they've won it's been easy. I'd be really surprised if the spread mattered in this game. |

Well, he better pick Indiana, because if he doesn't, there will be thousands of suicides in the state of Indiana, based on the level of hysteria there has been on this kid's recruitment. Also, with the number of extremely good players coming up through Indiana in the next 3 or 4 classes, Indiana will get their share of kids regardless of recruiting momentum or whatever, just by process of elimination. If for whatever reason they don't, then they'll never make it back to even being relevant, let alone a contender, which they haven't been consistently for almost 20 years. |

Could you get either one of their names right?

Davidson as well. They were up 24 or something in the second half and couldn't cover 6. Actually, if you look at the play by play, it shows a 93-87 win which would have pushed for me, but the big scoreboard said 91-87. Not sure what happened there, but Davidson crapped the bed in the last few minutes, that's for sure.

Their energy was drained from them, they're no Bama, UF, USC etc... They gave everything they had and went above and beyond and then some crooked mysterious man in booth upstairs took it from them. He ripped their hearts out. It was obvious Iowa was goign to come close to covering once Indiana had their eharts ripped out for the 5th time. So they can't fucking tackle a dude on a 92 yard pass, or a 66 yard pass, or on a line plunge on a 3rd and 2 when all Iowa wants to do is run the clock out? They deserve to be ripped for that, I'm sorry. Give me a break |

Someone needs to call out Indiana here, as far as losing the cover. All they have to do is make Iowa run some plays without scoring in the 4th, and the cover is never in questions, Back to back 92 and 66 yard TDs on 1 play drives??? Is it too much to ask to make them take at least a couple plays before scoring?TACKLE SOMEONE!!! On the last drive, Iowa is trying to run the clock out. All they had to so was tackle Wegher on the 3rd and 2 from the 27 and Iowa takes a knee. Absolutely disgraceful.

It's pretty interesting actually....Yes, Sportsbook.com and Sportsbetting.com are pretty much the same site, and we all know how long it has taken Sportsbook.com to pay, but I have had no issues with Sportsbetting.com. My payouts have come very quickly, as soon as 7-10 days in some instances. Not sure why that is, since they are obviously connected to each other.

True, but luckily for the other conferences, they don't have to travel 3000 miles to play the handpicked best talent in the country in their back yard either. If Cincy, or Va Tech, or about 112 or 113 other teams for that matter lined up in this game, they'd get their heads handed to them too. |

See Texas vs. Ohio State a couple of years ago.
Ohio St beat Texas 24-7 a couple years ago in Austin. |

Ok...let me get this straight. We need a playoff because we all hate the BCS process, right? So then we set up a playoff in which the system's structure is completely 100% reliant on the very process we are railing against?? What sense does that make? |

In every other sport in college sports there is a playoff system whether its basketball, baseball, hockey, etc...you name it. I know money is the underlying factor on why there is no playoff system, but until that changes i believe and will always believe that who ever won or will win the BCS championship games in past or future are just paper champions. This my vision of how the NCAAF should schedule the teams in every conference and able to determine who is the best in NCAAF with my vision of the PLAYOFFS.
The 1st games of the college football season this year started the last weekend of August and will run through the 1st weekend in December...that is 15 weeks of football. Every team plays about 12-13 games in any given year. With that in mind lets get started.
Here's my vision: 32 Team Playoff System
Week 1 starts out the last weekend of August and runs through the weekend before Thanksgiving. That gives us 13 weeks of College Football. You take those 13 weeks and each team schedules 12 games for the season with 1 week being their bye week. Then the winner of each conference will get an automatic bid into the playoffs thats 11 teams guarentee at least 1 team in each conference a shot at the championship. The rest of the teams gets selected by committee just like the 64 team NCAA Basketball Tournement is determined. The Playoffs would start on the 1st weekend in December (which gives each team a week to prepare) and runs through the 1 weekend in January. That would give us 18 weeks of College Football at its best and then we would finally get a chance to see a real CHAMPION in NCAAF Division I.
Any thoughts???
Wait a second...don't we all like college football? Why would you change the entire landscape of college football just so we can all feel a little bit better about how the champion is crowned? College football is a fantastic sport, in my opinion, easily the most enjoyable one in America. There was a time in college football where nobody even cared who the National Champion was, even to the point where is was referred to as the "mythical national champion" Now people are obsessed with it, to the point of turning college football into the NBA, or college basketball or the NFL or whatever. We have that crap already. I DO NOT want to see CFB be more like the other sports. A big playoff like that with the elimination of the bowls, the logistical nightmares of travel for fans every week and the marginalization of the regular season would completely change the sport as we know it. It would bring new problems into the game that would ultimately make the whole season long experience less enjoyable in my opinion. Why risk all that just so we can keep a couple teams from getting their feelings hurt? |

Remember when you were in grammar school, and occasionally two kids from the special classes would start fighting? It was kind of like watching a car wreck...no skill, but lots of misplaced energy. That's what this game will be like.

Thanks for stopping by Jim. (Just Kidding.) Clepto....not criticizing, because everyone is entitled to like whoever they want, but this is the greatest example of lapdog man-love I've ever seen. For the record, Rome used to have a rep for asking tough questions to guests, but he is probably the tamest host around now. It's an absolute lovefest with every guest he has. |

Shepherd, I've been here for awhile, but don't post as often as others, but I wanted to send a long some kudos to you. This is actually the first week I have come across your thread, and even though you had a much worse week than you are used to, your methods of handicapping exhibited in this thread will obviously lead to positive weeks way more often than not. I've been doing this for many years, and have had positive seasons every year, but you have indicated angles I've either not paid attention to or not seen before, and I learned some things by reading this thread. I will continue to visit, that's for sure, if you don't mind. It's not often that you find solid handicappers here, rather than a bunch of blowhard chest beaters. Keep up the good work! |
