NFL Sunday Week 12 betting odds and line moves: Public pulling for Packers

Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott hope to help Dallas earn a statement win at New England on Sunday. The Cowboys opened +6.5 and tightened to +5.5, landing a $55,000 wager in a good two-way game.

NFL Week 12 features some compelling Sunday matchups, including a big NFC-AFC clash in the shadows of Boston. Covers checks in on the action and odds movement for four games, with insights from Scott Shelton, sportsbook supervisor at The Mirage on the Las Vegas Strip.

Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots – Open: -6.5; Move: -6; Move: -5.5; Move: -6; Move: -5.5

Defending Super Bowl champion New England is atop the AFC heading into this 4:25 p.m. ET showdown. The Patriots (9-1 SU, 7-3 ATS) followed their only loss of the season – at Baltimore in Week 9 – with a 17-10 Week 11 win at Philadelphia as 4.5-point favorites.

Dallas is the only NFC East team above .500, at 6-4 SU and ATS. In Week 11, the Cowboys got a tougher-than-expected test against a Matthew Stafford-less Detroit outfit, but notched a 35-27 victory as 7.5-point road faves.

MGM books, which include The Mirage, took a $55,000 play on Cowboys +6 Saturday night.

“As big as this game is, I don’t think it’ll be a big decision for us, because it’s good two-way action,” Shelton said. “Ticket count is maybe 1.5/1 on the Patriots, and with that $55,000 bet, a little more money on Dallas. We’ve got parlays and teasers going to both sides. We lose a little on Cowboys moneyline.

“I think it’s gonna be pretty even come kickoff.”

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco 49ers – Open: -3; Move: None

Like New England, San Francisco got out of the gate 8-0 SU before suffering its first loss, a Week 10 home setback to Seattle. The 49ers (9-1 SU, 5-4-1 ATS) rebounded in Week 11, albeit in a struggle with Arizona, winning 36-26 as 10-point home favorites. The Niners got a push for closing-line bettors when they returned a fumble for a touchdown on the game’s final play.

Green Bay heads into this Sunday night clash rested and ready, after a bye in Week 11. The Packers (8-2 SU, 7-3 ATS) dropped Carolina 24-16 laying 5 points at home in Week 9.

“It’s gonna be a huge-handle game,” Shelton said, noting the same bettor who put $55,000 on the Cowboys also has $50,000 on the Packers at +3 (even). “We went to 49ers -3 flat, and a sharp crew scooped up the 49ers, so we’re now back at 49ers -3 (-120). Money is 2/1 in favor of the Packers, and tickets are about 2/1 Packers, too. The public is all over Green Bay.”

Kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles – Open: -2; Move: -1.5

Seattle won six of its last seven games and makes this East Coast trip after its bye week. In Week 10, the Seahawks (8-2 SU, 5-5 ATS) went to San Francisco as 6.5-point pups and emerged with a 27-24 overtime victory, their second straight OT win.

At the moment, Philadelphia is on the outside looking in for the playoffs and is quickly approaching must-win territory. The Eagles (5-5 SU, 4-6 ATS) got out to a 10-0 second-quarter lead last week against New England, but didn’t score again in a 17-10 loss catching 4.5 points at home.

“It’s all Seahawks, sharp and public,” Shelton said of action on a 1 p.m. ET matchup. “Money is 10/1 and ticket count 10/1 on Seattle. I don’t really see a sizable bet on the Eagles at all, and I couldn’t agree more. We’re definitely gonna need the Eagles.”

Oakland Raiders at New York Jets – Open: -3; Move: None

Oakland is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games, climbing into the AFC playoff picture in the process. The Raiders (6-4 SU and ATS) earned their third straight win last week, beating Cincinnati 17-10 while falling short as 10-point home faves.

Generally speaking, New York is having an awful year, but Adam Gase’s squad won and cashed as short underdogs the past two weeks. The Jets (3-7 SU, 4-6 ATS) rolled over Washington last week, building a 34-3 lead early in the fourth quarter en route to a 34-17 victory as 1-point road underdogs.

This 1 p.m. ET kickoff has drawn professional play on both sides.

“It looked like the sharp side was the Jets early in the week,” Shelton said, noting that while the line didn’t move, professional cash moved New York to +3 (-120). “Now the sharp guys are coming in on the Raiders, and we’re at Oakland -3 (-120). This game is garnering a lot of interest. It’s 3/1 tickets on Oakland, but the money is almost dead even, and there’s a lot of money on it.”
