The Chicago Blackhawks had a disappointing first round exit from the 2016 playoffs at the hands of the St. Louis Blues, but the oddsmakers at the Westgate LV Superbook believe their run of success during the Toews/Kane era will continue into the 2016-2017 season.

You certainly can't argue with the selection of the Hawks as the Stanley Cup favorites (6/1) going into next season. They have tons of talent, they have good goaltending, they're well coached, and they are a popular team for the betting public.

Listed second at 8/1 is the perfect scenario where you have the defending Stanley Cup champions, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the defending President's Trophy winners as the league's best team during the regular season, Washington Capitals.

Beyond the top three, there are five teams listed at 12/1 to hoist Lord Stanley's mug in 2017. The Tampa Bay Lightning, Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, and San Jose Sharks are all grouped together with a better payout than the big three at the top.

Keep in mind that these are very early off-season odds. We haven't seen the NHL Draft yet (and all of the player movement that is usually involved in that event) and NHL free agency doesn't begin until July 1st.

Here are the odds to win the 2016-2017 Stanley Cup from Westgate LV Superbook:
