Site: www.intertops.comIntertops is one of the grandfathers of online sports betting. They've been accepting wagers since 1996 and have carried a reputation as one of the most reliable books on the web.
They remain the only book under International Gaming & Entertainment Ltd., while other markets have been bought and sold on name alone and placed under new management.
Intertops isn't a flashy book. There are no cool graphics jumping out or half-naked women tempting you with pillow talk on the front page. These guys are old school – which in the world of online gambling is often a good thing.
HistoryIntertops' claim to fame is accepting the
first online sports wager in history. And for the last 13 years, that practice has served them well. Intertops was established in 1983 and has been online since 1996. The book is settled in Antigua and licensed there as well as with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
The site claims to offer more than 4,000 different wagers daily and has paid out more than $500 million in winnings to its customers over the last three years.
Betting Options Intertops has all the bases covered when it comes to wagering options. While the classic wagering process is still the most popular, Intertops has evolved for its customers’ demands and offers live betting and half time wagering.
They have also developed wireless wagering, allowing customers to place a bet or check lines from their cell phone or electronic PDA.
The book is renowned for its sharp
baseball lines. Major league baseball fans can choose from sides and totals as well as props for a variety of items.
But while baseball may be their bread and butter, Intertops knows the money is made in football. They have a vast amount of NFL and NCAA football options on the board. On top of spreads, totals and player and team props, Intertops also offers lines for CFL action so that pigskin bettors can get their football fix in the summer.
With a solid Canadian base, there are plenty of NHL sides and props for each division, conference and Stanley Cup futures.
Outside of the major sports, Intertops has picked up a less-than-stellar reputation for their lines for golf, tennis, boxing, soccer and mixed martial arts. Plenty of bettors have chosen to shop around instead of taking what Intertops is offering on these lesser-bet sports.
PaymentsIntertops has a well-established deposit and withdraw process. They accept all major credit cards, eWallet and NETeller transfers as well as online banking transfers. Depending on your method of deposit, transfers can be as small as $10 and max out at $5,000 per transaction.
Withdrawing from Intertops can take a little longer than some other books.
Customers can get
their winnings back within as quickly as 48 hours depending on what method they use to withdraw. Intertops offers NETeller transfers as well as wire transfers and issuing checks, which take 7-to-10 business days to be processed and sent.
ReliabilityThe longevity of Intertops should make anyone feel safe about placing your bets here. While the payment process can be slow, it is reliable. And with plenty of fly-by-night markets out there, there's something to be said for reliability.
Their customer service tabs are tough to find in the upper right-hand corner of the front page. They have a list of FAQs and rules for their sportsbook along with email and phone service associates to handle the tougher questions.
However, they don't operate a 24-hour service line and have hours of operation listed on their help page. There is also no live chat help service available.
OverallIntertops is a straight forward sportsbook with a variety of wagering options but little glitz or glam to go along with them. You can't argue with their track record in what can be a tricky business.
If you are a no-nonsense bettor looking to make money on baseball, football or hockey,
Intertops is the place to play.
