-12.80 Indianapolis
Indy moves up to the top spot thanks to its win over the Pats although some will argue that it was handed to them. Colts must avoid letdown this week vs. Baltimore.
2 1 move down in rankings1 9-0-0
(6-3-0)
-12.20 New Orleans
It was another unimpressive win for the Saints but wins are wins. New Orleans has another creampuff at Tampa Bay before its big home showdown against New England.
3 4 move up in rankings1 8-1-0
(5-3-1)
-9.00 Minnesota
Minny didn't let the bye kill its momentum, rolling over Detroit to maintain its three-game lead in the NFC North. Two more home games are on deck.
4 6 move up in rankings2 7-2-0
(6-3-0)
-7.90 Cincinnati
The Bengals are finally getting the respect they deserve. A miracle catch by Denver and a letdown against Houston are the only things preventing this team from being undefeated.
5 3 move down in rankings2 6-3-0
(4-4-1)
-7.30 New England
To go for it or not to go for it? How about we drop it since questioning a decision by Bill Belichick is pointless.
6 7 move up in rankings1 6-3-0
(3-6-0)
-5.40 Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh looked average against the Bengals and a new champion in the AFC North may take place. The schedule takes a break in three of the next four games.
7 5 move down in rankings2 6-3-0
(6-3-0)
-4.60 Denver
This is the freefall that everyone outside of Denver was expecting. Maybe even some Mile Highers saw it coming too but a loss to Washington? That is bad news.
8 13 move up in rankings5 6-3-0
(6-3-0)
-4.30 Arizona
Arizona is looking like the Super Bowl team it was last season. The Cardinals are 4-0 on the road this season but must avoid a letdown in St. Louis after two big wins.
9 10 move up in rankings1 5-4-0
(6-3-0)

Baltimore shut out the Browns Monday night but what exactly does that prove? I doubt Peyton Manning is scared now. The Colts have won six straight in this series.
10 8 move down in rankings2 6-3-0
(5-4-0)
-4.10 Dallas
Just when you thought the Cowboys were turning a big corner, Tony Romo puts up one of his stinkers. They can't longer look past the Redskins with Turkey Day on deck.
11 11 no change in rankings 6-3-0
(4-5-0)
-3.70 San Diego
The Bolts took out the Eagles despite getting outgained by 131 yards. Big revenge game for the division at Denver this week.

The Packers lose to the then-winless Buccaneers and the next week they take out the Cowboys who had won four straight. Green Bay is now back in the playoff chase.
13 15 move up in rankings2 5-4-0
(5-3-1)
-2.50 Houston
Houston had a bye to stew over that loss to the Colts. We will get to see how it handles the spotlight on the Monday night stage against the suddenly fearsome Titans.
14 9 move down in rankings5 5-4-0
(6-3-0)
-2.20 Atlanta
The Falcons have now lost three of four with all three losses coming on the road. Another road game looms against the Giants without the services of Michael Turner.
15 16 move up in rankings1 5-4-0
(4-4-1)
-2.10 N.Y. Giants
The Giants had the week off but moved up in the standings thanks to losses by both the Eagles and Cowboys. The way they're playing, another week off would be welcomed.
16 12 move down in rankings4 5-4-0
(5-4-0)
-2.00 Philadelphia
Philadelphia has to be streakiest team in the league. Now it faces a desperate Chicago team in the second of its four-roadies-in-five-games stretch.
17 14 move down in rankings3 4-5-0
(4-5-0)
-0.50 N.Y. Jets
The Jets are officially in a tailspin. They've dropped five of their last six, four of which came by five points or less. Now comes a date vs. the revenge-seeking Pats.
18 21 move up in rankings3 5-4-0
(4-5-0)
0.30 Jacksonville
Jacksonville was left for dead after a 41-0 shellacking in Seattle but now it is a game out of the Wild Card picture. Four of its next five games are at home.
19 19 no change in rankings 4-5-0
(4-5-0)
0.40 Miami
Miami kept its playoff hopes and many suicide pool contestants alive with a last-second win over the Buccaneers. It must recharge quickly with a game this Thursday at Carolina.
20 20 no change in rankings 4-5-0
(6-2-1)
0.60 San Francisco
It wasn?t pretty but the 49ers snapped a four-game losing streak against Chicago. They trail the Cards by two games still but own a 3-0 mark in the division.
21 18 move down in rankings3 4-5-0

Jay Cutler is coming off his worst game of the season and he might have dug the Bears a hole they can't get out of. Three of the next four are at home.
22 24 move up in rankings2 4-5-0
(4-5-0)
2.30 Carolina
Carolina is suddenly making noise after winning four of its six. Jake Delhomme has gone three straight games without an interception and owns a 115.8 rating over the same stretch.
23 22 move down in rankings1 3-6-0
(3-6-0)
3.60 Seattle
The Seahawks lost by 11 points in Arizona but the game was a lot closer than that. The loss dropped Seattle to 0-4 on the road and it now heads to Minnesota.
24 25 move up in rankings1 3-6-0
(4-5-0)
4.20 Tennessee
No team with a shot at the playoffs wants to face the Titans right now. The season is turning around and owner Bud Adams? middle-finger salute is making it entertaining.
25 23 move down in rankings2 3-6-0
(4-5-0)
5.70 Buffalo
Buffalo had another opportunity to win but a fourth quarter debacle let to its sixth loss and the firing of head coach Dick Jauron. This team has quit so stick a fork in.
26 26 no change in rankings 3-6-0
(2-6-1)
6.10 Washington
Washington finally picked up a quality win although the Broncos win may not look so good a few weeks from now. The Redskins travel to Dallas for the annual rivalry.
27 28 move up in rankings1 2-7-0
(4-5-0)
8.60 Kansas City
Kansas City won its second game of the season after it split with the Raiders. The Chiefs are playing well since early October.
28 27 move down in rankings1 2-7-0
(4-5-0)
10.10 Oakland
JaMarcus Russell owns a 47.9 QB rating and was pulled last week. He might still start this week which is laughable. The Bengals are ok with it.
29 30 move up in rankings1 1-8-0
(3-6-0)
10.70 Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay nearly won for a second straight week but a late field goal prevented a winning streak. It hosts the undefeated Saints before four of five on the road.
30 29 move down in rankings1 1-8-0
(3-6-0)
11.20 Cleveland
Not that we needed further proof but after Monday, the Browns offense officially stinks. Maybe it can score on Detroit this week but that is far from a guarantee.
31 31 no change in rankings 1-8-0
(2-6-1)
11.30 Detroit
Detroit hosts the Browns in its last winnable game of the season. The Lions defense has allowed 26 or more points in seven of nine games, so Cleveland actually does have a chance.
32 32 no change in rankings 1-8-0
(4-5-0)
11.60 St. Louis
The Rams gave the Saints all they could handle and scored a season high 23 points. The next two games are at home so another upset bid could take place.

Power Ratings compute offensive and defensive statistics into one number for each team, while accounting for factors like recent performances and strength of schedule. Power Ratings can be used as a baseline for relative spread index to compare current or future match-ups between two teams. The relative spread does not account for non-statistical factors like home-field advantage, recent injuries, game time decisions, rivalries, publicity, and weather.
