Have watched this kid play since 5th grade .. He has always played vs bigger and older kids all his sports playing life and ruled.. He is just starting.. A once in a lifetime player IMO.. Grew up playing HS ball in the Danny Marino era.. At this point Marino had nothing on Pryor.. Pryor has a cannon.. ,,, He has been working for two years with Charlie Batch of the Steelers ( Batch dates his Aunt) The Kid has had one plan since he was 10.. He is commited.. This is his ticket out of poverty for him and his family and he KNOWS it.. Dont sell him short... He was impressive vs USC for a natural freshman who just 6 months ago was playing before 3000 people..Jeannette is a very small run down town that has produced a half a dozen NFL players.. Rich in football history.. He has been king of the hill in town since 5th grade and never let it swell his head..
I don't usually kick a man when he's down, but the mindless comments from godfather16 got old long before this game kicked off. I'm not sure Boeckman has ever seen a D like USC's. He was forced to get rid of the ball or get drilled. Some of it wasn't his fault........his OL was overmatched & poorly coached. Watch this game a couple more times & you'll see it. Pryor isn't VY. If he gets stronger & faster he might have a chance to be. He looked OK in the 4th qtr after USC only rushed 3-4 DL, but he's got a ways to go. We"ll now see how mentally tough OSU is. This game could set them back hard. They could run the table from here on out or they could turn into an 8-4 team. Either way, they weren't in this game for long........despite what the so-called "experts" here say. Jim Tressel..........GL the rest of the way |

Did not take Pryor long to move up to the Number 2 ... As I mentioned earlier this year in your OSU foots thread.. Dont be surprised if his playing time increases as the year goes on..

I used to like Paulsy too. I stood up for him before it was "cool" to do so. I don't know exactly where he turned. But he has jumped the shark. It has little to do with the attention whoring for m e. FE is an attention person and I would never curse the name of FE. I love FE. but Paulsy's lost it not that he ever had it and I'm not the only one that thinks so. Second was right all along about him. |

Relax my friend ... Sit back and enjoy what will be a great 4 years for all you lucky Buckeye fans.. I am a PSU fan... Terrelle Pryor is the rare athlete that is bigger then even the huge hype that precedes him.. Your new QB of the future ... He was hyped in Jr high he surpassed the hype.. ... Was hyped in HS was better then anyone wildest dreams.. I know you think you probably have a winner but IMO ( and many other people who have watched him progress from a 5th grade phenom) its not a matter of probably its a matter of when .. OSU has something special and it will not take long for many to find out,, Only a Freshman but I will be shocked if he does not hit the field alot this year and not just to run.. IMO you have a Wally Pip situation brewing .. Its probably a funny statement to many, but all the hype Pryor has recieved still dwarfs his talent big time IMO.. Once in a lifetime player.. Bump this in Nov or Dec..

Jimmy Clausen was and never be in the same leauge as this kid.... Charlie Batch has been working this kid out for 2 years ... He knows how to wing it, the running is just a kicker.. Misconception is that he is a running QB.. I can understand your doubt but he is light years ahead of Jimmy at this stage.. OSU has struck gold.. You cant find one local writer who will not say or already have not said he is the best HS QB ever in Western Pa history.. ( Marino.. Montana..Kelly...and so on..) It was only HS but OSU is just the next step IMO and many others who have watched him play for years..
I don't think anyone (i.e. USC) will take Pryor lightly, but the chances of this guy coming into his 3rd game ever against what will be one of the top defenses in the country are pretty slim. USC's front seven should be able to handle his speed, they will be a top unit. As for the passing game, I am not buying Pryor will have the arm or polishing to throw the ball well against that D. Frankly, the looked incredible in the US Army game when he scrambled, but his arm left a lot to be desired. Also, regarding the hype, OSU fans of all people should realize the ratings of a QB recruit should be viewed with a great deal of skepticism. Just look at OSU, Craig Krenzel was an average recruit, Troy Smith was a two-star recruit and rated as a WR. Justin Zwick and Henton were very highly rated coming out of HS, how did that pan out? A freshman QB, even an all-world recruit, can only do so little, just ask Jimmy Clausen, the last "once-in-a-lifetime" QB recruit. If I am Jim Tressel, I just try and control the ball with Wells and blitz the crap out of Mark Sanchez. However, I am also in agreement that JT is not a great big-game coach, but looks great when he has the dominant team on the field. Some of his calls in the LSU game were deplorable, but somehow he gets a free pass from the Ohio press... |

Some players are stars of the future in the making OSU got one in Pryor.. Nothing he will do will surprise me I think the surprises will come to the teams that think well hes just a Freshman..
Some differentiation has to be made here. What defines a big impact? And if he does have one, will he against USC? No shot in hell. Now see, I think its totally reasonable to believe that he may have some sort of an impact in his first season, and I really don't have a problem accepting that he will be a better athlete than any of the Youngstown, Ohio, Troy, or Northwestern defenders chasing him. But if you think that Rey Maualuge, Kevin Ellison, and Taylor Mays are going to be impressed with this kid then you are in for as big a surprise as he is. |

He passed for as many yds his SR as he ran and would have passed more but they blow everyone out ( State Champs).. If he wanted to run he would be at Michigan.. A amazing stat for him his Sr year was that during the course of the year he throw for a TD.. ran for one.. returned an INT for one.. Brought back a punt and a kickoff for a TD.. On a side note from the same small HS OSU also got a verbal agreement from Pryors HS RB ( Sr this year) to attend OSU next year.. Not much fanfare but he will suprise some people also IMO.. No star but a great football player.. Last name of Hall..
I trust your opinion. It sounds like you have seen him play quite a bit. He also sounds like a natural and those are the guys that make plays and just pick it up a little faster. All that being said, how on earth is there not going to be a QB controversy? Lets not forget that Boeckman is completely horrible. Personally, I don't think Tressel would know talent if he fell over it. Zwick over Smith in the 4th quarter against Texas??? Zwick being allowed to do more than carry the balls to practice for that matter. Now, Boeckman is going to start over this kid. I just don't know how he can resist. It sounds like Pryor and Wells would be unstoppable. He would only have to throw it 10 times a game. Of course, they would need to be unstoppable with that crap of a defense they have. Crap defense against real teams, I mean. |
