I think this is going to be my last post here, guys. Between all the pop-ups, videos, and other advertising on this site that constantly slows it down, it's virtually unusable. Plenty of other places to share info. Best of luck to all, let's go out with hopefully a few wins:
Pribram / Olomouc 2.5, 3 OVER (-112) Boleslav +.5, +1 (+114) Ostrava pick, +.5 (-135)
See you around! |

Czech: 8-7-1 (+349) Slovak: 4-5 (+45) In a rush this weekend, here are my plays. Feeling a little nervous, I'm taking a handful of road dogs, and that's never easy to stomach: Dukla +2 (+110) Ostrava Pick, +.5 (-108) Pribram +1 (-105) Plzen +.5 (-105)
Slovak: Zilina (+190) |

Czech: 7-6-1 (+249) Slovak: 4-3 (+145)
Good weekend in both leagues, I'm building up a little profit early in the season. Pribram (+164). I see this as being a pretty even match, with Pribram being slightly stronger. Given their at home at this price it's too good to pass. Jablonec -.5, -1 (-128). Olomouc have had a challenging run these last two weeks with Europa League matches, and going on the road to Jablonec I think the home team should wear them out. Ostrava & Plzen (-111). Square play sure, but these are both two teams at home that should win easily.
Slovak: Sered (+120). Podbrezova are a night/day side when they're at home or on the road, and Sered at some plus money seems like a nice play. Slovan Bratislava (-111). Trencin are one of the better teams in the league, but Slovan are still the tops. Getting them at home at close to even money is a steal.
Best of luck to everyone this weekend. |

I guess it all evens out. Lost my Teplice play when Zlin scored in the 95th minute.
Not feeling so great about Ostrava tomorrow. Looks like Milan Baros likely won’t play. He’s their main offensive threat and they’ll be stretched to score without him. |

Wow, what a way to win my first play of the weekend. Slovacko score on an own goal from Dukla in the 92nd minute...and it was that player's 2nd own goal of the day. Slovacko win 2-1 on two own goals from the SAME PLAYER. Rather sketchy stuff, but I'll take it. |

Czech: 5-5-1 (+167) Slovak: 2-3 (+45)
Four weeks in the books, and we're starting to see what teams really are. I don't like this week's card all that well, which means I'll probably have a great week. The plays I love lose and the plays I'm unsure of seem to hit. Hopefully that stays true: Slovacko pick, +.5 (+102). That's right, I'm taking Slovacko on the road. They've been the worst road team in the league over the past two seasons, but Dukla are looking awful, already racking up a -10 goal differential. This is more a fade of them than anything. Teplice +.5 (-120). I think Zlin are a little overvalued here, and Teplice have shown great form on the road so far this season, drawing their first two matches. I'm hoping for another draw or a win. Ostrava +.5 (-114). I'm looking for Olomouc to come out flat after yesterday's big Europa League upset win. Ostrava have outperformed Olomouc so far this season, and given the letdown factor for Olomouc, I like this play. Slovak: Podbrezova (-118). The better team at home as a short favorite, I'll take it. Trencin / DAC OVER 2.5, 3 (-130). Goals aplenty in these two teams' first few matches: DAC's first four matches have seen 17 goals, and Trencin's three matches have had 16 goals. That's a combined 4.7 goals per match, so I love the OVER 2.75.
Best of luck to all this weekend. |

Czech: 5-3-1 (+240) Slovak: 1-2 (-20)
Not a great week, but I won some money so I'll take it. There's a lot to like this weekend:
Liberec (+158). I like this price on Liberec, even on the road. Opava have shown very little this season as the newly-promoted side. It's possible they're just simply overmatched and will get sent back down again this season. Until they show they can play in the top league I'll fade them, especially at prices like this one. Sparta (+127). Like Plzen last week, it's tough to walk away from Sparta at + money, even on the road. Teplice are no slouch, but they have not had a great start to the season against beatable opponents. Sparta should take this one. Bohemians (+145). These are two pretty even teams, so I'll take the home side at a tasty price.
Slovak league (half-unit plays): Ruzomberok (+330). This number is just ridiculous. DAC should win, but Ruzomberok have a much better shot at the upset than this number suggests. Trencin (+230). Another number that's way too big given the two teams. If I hit one of these two plays I'll turn a nice profit for the week.
Best of luck to everyone this weekend! |

Czech: 4-2 (+229) Slovak: 0-1 (-50)
Nice weekend got me up on the positive side for the young season. I'll try to keep it going: Zlin Pick (+117). I'm a little nervous about this pick seeing Jablonec listed as such a heavy road favorite. I don't think it's justified. Zlin is not as good as their record and Jablonec is not as bad as theirs, but a Pick at + money on the home side? Plzen (+111). Can't resist Plzen at + money, even on the road against a solid Olomouc side. Karvina (+159). The two worst teams through two weeks match up in this one. I don't think either of them are as bad as they've looked so far, and I'll take the home side at such a tasty number.
Slovak: (1/2 unit plays)
Ruzomberok (+160). Love this price for the home team against what I deem to be a weaker opponent. Senica (+300). Don't know if Senica can win this one, but this price is way too high for what seems to be a fairly even matchup. Almost tempted to make it a full unit play.
Best of luck to all this weekend. |

Czech: 1-1 (-21) Slovak: 0-1 (-50) All Slovak plays are 1/2 unit, sorry I forgot to mention that
Traveling this weekend so posting early. Taking all + money bets this week, going to try to get away from juicy plays. Boleslav (+116). Boleslav and Olomouc are two teams that are very much home / away sides. Boleslav are much stronger at home and Olomouc are much weaker away. This number should probably be better but is deflated due to Olomouc's season-opening beatdown from Slavia, but I'll still take the home side at + money. Slovacko (+168) and Pribram (+165), 1/2 unit each. These are not two teams I like to bet on, but both are at home against beatable opponents. I'm laying a half-unit on each and banking on one of them winning. Sparta (+184). It's tough to walk away from a number like this with Sparta, even on the road against a decent Jablonec side. I think this number should be much lower and I like the value.
No Slovak picks this week.
Best of luck to everyone this weekend. Glad to be back in the swing of things! |

Week 1 is always tough to handicap, and I'm only taking two games the first weekend in the Czech league. Looking forward to another year of Czech and Slovak soccer:
Sparta -1.5 (-125). Welcome to the big leagues Opava. Your reward for promotion is an away match against the team with the most foreign players in the league and the highest market value. I think Sparta should cruise in the opener, and while I don't like betting teams to win by at least two goals, I'm not worried about it this time. Olomouc pick, +.5 (-121). Yes, Slavia are the bigger name, but Olomouc earned themselves a place in Europe this year by having a great season last year. Particularly they were strong at home, where they didn't lose a match all season (9 wins, 6 draws, 0 losses). Slavia are overvalued and if Olomouc only need to swing a draw I like it.
Slovak pick: Podbrezova (+210). Podbrezova at home at +210? I love it. The Slovak league had some big + money winners last year, and I'll look to start off with one right away.
Seems like the season starts earlier and earlier every year, but I'll take it. Best of luck to everyone this weekend. |

Thanks for the kind words, I'll be back in the Fall with more Czech insights. I had a good weekend to end the season, that's always nice. Unfortunately I still finished in the hole:
1st half: 21-22-3 (+53) 2nd half: 17-20-4 (-261) Slovak: 4-7-2 (-198)
Not surprising, Plzen (straight to group stage) and Slavia (3rd qualifying round) take the CL league spots, but something of a surprise in that Jablonec and Olomouc get the EL places. Sparta get shut out. Jihlava and Brno are deservedly relegated.
Bring on the World Cup! |

Last weekend of the season, and I'm ready for it to be over. Gave back all my winnings over these last few weeks, really took a dump to end the season. This week is a little tough since only a few teams have anything to really play for, and motivations could be difficult to gauge. Here's what I'm playing: Karvina / Jihlava UNDER 2.5 (-110). Karvina will be pressing, because they need a win to get out of relegation, but Jihlava will be happy to play for a draw, as it will ensure their safety out of the bottom two spots. This could create some scoring chances for Jihlava, but they're neither good enough to convert or will be all that interested in pressing forward. I'll look for a slow, lethargic match. Zlin (+115). Zlin are bad, and they're in poor form. So poor they need to take a point from this match or they could be relegated. But Liberec cannot move up or down, and have nothing to play for. And I'd like Zlin in this spot regardless of motivation, as they are a decent home side, while Liberec struggle away. Add in the extra motivation and plus money, and Zlin is the play. And with those two plays I'm going to finish the season. Pribram will be back up next year, along with Opava (who I know nothing about). Brno is headed back down, and one of four teams (Karvina, Zlin, Ostrava, Jihlava) will be joining them.
Best of luck to all this weekend, and bring on the World Cup. |

I'm curious to see what effect, if any, playing in Westchester will have on the NY Liberty. I've only been to a handful of Lynx games so I don't have a real sense of what home court really means in this league. The Lynx draw some good crowds and it seems to help, but I don't know about other teams. Will playing somewhere smaller than MSG actually be a good thing for NY? The Lynx are out of the hockey arena and back into the newly remodeled Target Center this year, which should be good for them. I hope to see them have another strong season. Good to see everyone back! Here's to a profitable season. |

Another piss poor outing last weekend, I'm glad this season is finally almost over. Just like Plzen I started strong, but have been limping towards the finish line. Just two this weekend: Karvina Pick (-115). The loser of this match is basically down to the 2.liga with Brno next year, so this should be interesting. I'll take the home side. Slavia (-125). This number seems low, given that 1) Slavia are at home, and they are one of the strongest home sides in the league, 2) Jablonec are all but assured a Europa League spot next year but have no chance at getting into CL qualification (and therefore seemingly have little to play for), and 3) Plzen continues to struggle, leaving the door open for Slavia to sneak in and retain their title. They'll come out gunning, but I can't say the same for Jablonec. Plzen need 3 points these last two weeks to lock up the title, and I think they'll get them tomorrow at home against Teplice. But obviously I'm not going to lay -455, and I can't find anything I like to parlay them with. Just these two plays for me.
Best of luck to all this weekend |

1st half: 21-22-3 (+53) 2nd half: 14-16-3 (-110) Slovak: 4-5-2 (+2)
I'm going to count my Mol Cup winner in my numbers, but I'm still in the negative for the 2nd half and the season. Just three more weeks to get back to positive. This weekend I'm seeing a lot I like, which makes me a little nervous. I'm taking:
Liberec +.5 (+114). Liberec should be able to pull a draw, even on the road, against lowly Ostrava. These are two teams going in opposite directions (Ostrava have been surprisingly competent lately while Liberec are in very poor form) which explains the generous number. I don't think Liberec are dead yet, and they should handle this one. Bohemians Pick (-125). Boleslav really have fallen this year, and Bohemians are a very strong home team. They might not win, but I don't think they lose, so the Pick is my play. Teplice (-105). This one scares me a little because this number should be much higher. Teplice are strong at home and Brno are absolute garbage away, and weird lines like this one usually play out in surprising ways. I'll step into the trap and take the home favorite. Dukla +1 (-125). It's tough to go against Slavia since they still have a shot at the title, and they are the stronger side. But I think there might be some Mol Cup hangover, and their chances of winning the league are so slim they might as well not exist. They could mail this one in and we could see an ugly, low scoring match. Getting a goal I'll gladly take it.
Two Slovak picks: This league has a really weird format, and with two weeks left the only things certain are that Trnava have won the league and the CL qualifying spot, and Slovan Bratislava are assured one of the EL spots due to winning the Cup. If Slovan finish in third place, there will be a third EL spot, and it could go to any of the remaining teams, and these last two weeks would mean almost nothing since there will be a playoff at the end anyway. Motivations will be difficult to gauge, which I think gives some value on the underdogs: DAC (+140). DAC can tie up one of those EL spots with a home win over a Slovan Bratislava side that has already punched their EL ticket and has nothing to play for at this point. Ruzomberok +1 (-125). Neither Trencin nor Ruzomberok can scratch up to third place to assure an EL spot, which means they're both just running out the string hoping for a playoff. Given that, I don't see any reason to make Trencin such big favorites here. I'm taking Ruzomberok +1 for .75 units and outright at +425 for .25 units.
As we wind down the seasons and get ready for World Cup play, best of luck to all |
