@Gunners -- "... but it just doesn't pan out because no one enters them and every time the dollar goes to a bank, they take it out of circulation due to the defacement of the bill...."
No one enters them? Not true. Somewhere around 25,000 to 30,000 bills are entered every day. "[the bank] take[s] it out of circulation." Also not true. I have received several marked George bills from my bank when withdrawing cash. And lastly, "due to the defacement of the bill". Also not true. Please take a look at: https://uscode.house.gov/download/pls/18C17.txt "Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18, Section 333 of the United States Code. Under this provision, currency defacement is generally defined as follows: Whoever mutilates, cuts, disfigures, perforates, unites or cements together, or does any other thing to any bank bill, draft, note, or other evidence of debt issued by any national banking association, Federal Reserve Bank, or Federal Reserve System, with intent to render such item(s) unfit to be reissued, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both." |
