A top QB in QBR going into last night. Top 3 fantasy QB. But, we know exactly what you mean OP. |

Kudos Damon. Been a long time since logging on to this site, but felt the need for some appreciation. |

Interesting strategy situation in the Vikings / Saints game. What would you do?
in NFL Betting I didn't read or hear Zimmer's post-game comments, but I don't believe he would go for it. No way he wants to face the press after losing on a coach's decision. From the 4, I think he kicks the FG. I agree with bmiller that from the 1 or 2, he may go. But, from the 4 you're almost forced to throw, and there's a lot of big men in a small amount of real estate. I like when coaches take risks, but I kick a FG there and take my chances on no TD from NO. |

Hey Rage, I've read some of your posts over the years and appreciate the fact that you've been upfront about some of the struggles you face on a daily basis. Struggles that would leave many of us in the fetal position most of those days. So kudos for doing that. Most of us honestly wish the best for you. Some unsolicited advice? You're a heck of a good handicapper. Whatever you have done over the years has worked. So why not concentrate on that, rather than your record? I think you put too much stress on yourself, and it potentially hurts what you're good at, which is handicapping. That said, the best way to get rid of the pushback is be straightforward. You're simply adding wins and losses. Not calculating alternative lines, buying and selling points, or even figuring juice. All which is fine with everyone here. But, last night when you play 3 games, and come out with a 2-2 record (if you started a 2nd thread last night, apologies), you will get pushback. Do the simple math, and you won't have do deal with people calling you out.

If you have the time and patience, there are some pretty good responses in this thread. Me? I ain't got neither, so I just tail the folks who do all the work and appreciate their talent. I chuckle when I hear, 'cap your own games'. Why on earth would I do that? I don't have the time and more importantly, I suck. I spend the lion's share of my life getting advice from people who are good at their jobs. Some even come to me cause I'm (relatively) good at mine. Why wouldn't I do that with gambling? There are amazing handicappers on this site, if you can navigate through some of the mess. Guys hitting near 60% with massive sample sizes. There's even a guy in here who has taken his time to navigate through the fog and give us a list. All that said, and it's been mentioned by a few, the in-game betting intrigues me. With the massive swings in the NBA, you can probably find some good opportunities (middles maybe) if you can avoid getting juiced out. If you do that, like in poker, start with mini stakes and see how it goes. |

Along the same lines as Scal's comment, if a game is not being played at the same time, it shouldn't be in your parlay (not that you should bet parlays anyway). It should bet separately with the profits of games 1 and 2, with the exception you thought the ML would move against you bigly. In this case moved in your favor. Good position to be in, though. GL |

You started a thread on Rivers being a statute, and should think about betting against him. Maybe you did, thus the angst. You started two threads on Jackson, the 2nd clearly including him with other black QBs, with 'Athletic'. Then get all offended when we all know what you mean. Hey, be more like Budwiser. He at least owns it. You're just a poosy. |

Rockets+3 Warriors -8 Sac +4 Hey Raging, Sorry to bump the thread, but I have a question for Doodlebop if he comes back. Hopefully I'm misinterpreting your comments. Curious if you are betting two games, both at -110, then betting a parlay of the opposite teams at 13/5? |

NFL corners would jam up the receivers, who would never get off the ball (even Ridley). Put 7/8 in the box and blow up every play in seconds. Because of the speed and violence in the NFL, there is no sport with a more dramatic jump in talent from college. IMO, I would comfortably lay 56, if I knew the Browns would keep the foot on the throat (figure 14-0 easily per quarter). And, as someone mentioned above, I would feel for the safety of the Bama players |

Interested in your thought process, where last night you were down to your book approx. $400, and you are to meet him at $300 to pay or get paid.
You felt the need to bet $500 on GB and $500 on under. Why so much when you really weren't stuck that bad, relatively? Did it ever cross your mind what position you would put yourself in with 2 losses? And then, the first reaction is to beg strangers, not only a couple hours after the end of the game, but continue into today when your thoughts should be clearer and maybe have better options. Obviously more to this story. |

The good news is, you're young and will learn.
Not to pile on, but can't help myself... As many have said above, pay the bookie the $200 every 2 weeks. He'll take it. Better than paying usury Unfortunately, per your comments, your work buddy will find out and others in the office. I am curious though. It seems your tolerance to pay is $100 per week, and that is under duress. Why are you betting $500 per bet on the 2 losers last night and a dime on FSU last week vs. BC? With your ability to pay, you should not be betting more than $25/$50 per game. I mean, you lose the 'hotshot' status at work, but it's probably better for everyone. I do think it's charming that you said 'never again'. Did you tell your father that when he bailed you out previously?

gcwrestling should be the last guy piling on. He started 2 baseball threads the other day with headers like 'Play of all plays, don't miss' and 'thanks for the free money'.
A loser, of course, and other posters called him out for being the mush of mush. Talk about cringeworthy

I grew up in a town with a daily 6PM siren. I had exactly 15 minutes from then to be sitting at the table with my family, no matter where I was.
Then, everyone would slowly start coming of their houses for a neighborhood game of capture the flag, once it got dark.

Commenting here because I have a general disdain for touts. But Lang is a special type of fraud, just like his SB record.
His ex-bosses came out and said they spotted this guy his first 13 before he came on-line in 2005. Since then, he may have a winning record but his 'clients' are probably down money due to his advisement to bet the Colts ML for 200dimes and spread for a 100, losing close to 500dimes (he recommends $10 per dime) in '10. And, 0-5 on his props. A couple documented tidbits on Lang/Link/Long/Anthony: Since being monitored (2005), he has NEVER had a winning year and has not won a playoff game this season. Oh, and he is down over 1000dimes already this year. He's a marketer, not a handicapper, and makes his money on the few unsuspecting gamblers left who don't know what a charlatan he really is. |
