Michigan State vs Boise State Big time write up (please give your opinion)
in College Football
Both QB positions leave big questions to be answered but Boise is outmatched on both sides. MSU can overcome the QB dilemma with a very strong o line and running game, keeping the Boise offense off the field. I don't see Boise running against the sparty d and thus I can't see much scoring from them either. Sporty wins this one easily.

I'm not using history to bet this game but I will take 2 tds if I can get them. Hoke is a quality coach and will soon earn some respect. I simply don't think Bama blows Mich off the field. I think it will be closer than some of the arrogant over confident sec fans think. 3 weeks and we will find out. I lived in Ann arbor in the Bo years so it was my team as well as dad's. Wish I was a little younger but no such luck.

Here are the facts:
Michigan 5-1 vs the SEC in bowl games since 1999. The big 10 is 95-89-7 all time vs the sec. The big 10 is the only conference to hold a winning record against every other conference including the sec. Only 2 conferences have posted 4 wins over top 15 ranked bcs teams in a single bowl Season, the big 10 in 1998 and again in 2009, the sec has never accomplished this. Arguably the sec has been dominant the past 5 seasons but only at the top of the conference. Top to bottom this is not the case. The facts just don't support the notion that the sec is "the conference" and the big ten doesn't belong on the field with them. As for this game, Bama is the obvious favorite but given Michigan's ability to perform in these types of match-ups against a favored sec opponent historically the stats just don't show them being blown off the field. Bama may win this game but I would start the part just yet and don't spend the money, the math is not on your side on this one. I'm obviously biased and pulling for the wolverines but also looking at the stats. Anything over 14 and I'm on Mich. College gambler, you should do a little more research before you blindly talk shit

UM looks better in the pro style and both Shaw and Robinson had good days running the ball. USF ran very effective against a ND DL line that lost Williams and a DE. UM returns all but one on O and are more settled as a team under Mattison as DC. This game will be won in the trenches with ND throwing 2 picks and Michigan winning outright (for the 3rd yr in a row) 34-20. Don't believe the hype that ESPN always puts on ND.
great point. UMs run game will keep ND offense off the field and eat up clock. i couldn't agree with you more! |

Kelly was far more "successful" coming into his stint with the Irish than Schembechler was with UM. I'm not debating who was the better coach, but Bo had hardly earned the right to chew his players out through wins. Bo won against undefeated and current national champ OSU his first year to seal the deal. Kelly is in his second season and has not done shit. You are right, he was more successful coming into his current job as Bo was not a head coach which is why Kelly should have been able to orchestrate something quicker at ND. His frustration is with himself not his players. His weakness as a leader shows. |

consider this: As bad a Rich Rod's teams were in Ann Arbor, UM won the past two meetings by 4 points each. ND had a decent offense last year and everone knows how bad the mich D was yet they still got the W. Home field is worth a field goal in this game every year. Once again ND is overrated by everyone in the media. Big House fans need something to get excited about and this "first night game" will be it. It's not a trap, just typical ND bullshit, even in vegas. |

the difference between Kelly and the "old school" coaches like Byant, Hayes, Schembechler etc is he has not made himself a winner and earned the right to lose his cool. Guys like Bob Knight could do it because in the end they won which Kelly has not done. His team played terrible and he needs to take responsibility for that. The did not look prepared. He has a lot of work to do in South Bend or his career will be short. Maybe ND could hire Tressel. That dirtbag would be a match made in heaven for the Irish.

you guys are quite the entertainers. Hard to have a lot of respect for anyone with Big East in their name when referring to college football and Manram sounds like he likes it in the ass. Ive been reading these threads for 4 or 5 years now and i know who to follow. spend a little less time talking about how brilliant you are. the followers in the forum know who is full of shit and who isn't we don't need to be told. now let's watch some NCAAF and all win some fucking cash and quit talking about it. |

Hope you all are having fun in this contest. Remember, it's a long season and one good or bad week can change everything. It's all about managing your bankroll; just like it was real cash. Good luck.

I'm actually a Wolverine. I'm about 30 minutes from Bloomington and as a general rule I stay away from them in football. I can't imagine IU giving anyone 20 points. I haven't really looked at it. I think I'd rather take the illini -6.5 against Mizzu.

How did you get Michigan at -8? I haven't seen it anywhere below -10.5 from the open.

Oregon +4 I actually they win SU. The ducks will surprise some teams this year including USC
Troy -6.5. Several returning starters. This team has value against a very mediocre BG
I really like Tulsa -13.5 friday returning a strong offense that will be as explosive this year as last year.

You are the man. couldn't agree more. this game is a total mismatch. DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!!! Bama will field a better defense than a year ago which takes the pressure off the offense although i like your write up of the O. I really don't see VT matching up on either side of the ball. Not enough speed.
GL and great write up
