I think I have to agree with PocketMoney that Money Management is 80%-90% of the game, it's just what is the right way to manage the money?.. However, sometimes I think I get carried away because I want to enjoy games by putting my money where my mouth is, like betting sunday and monday night games i'm not confident about.. When you come down to it.. the most important part is how much $$$ you made or lost at the end of the year.. the problem is how should you manage that... One thing I'm still confused about is the % betting. The ones that say I will be gone in a few weeks if I continue to bet $100 + on games with $2,000.00 bankroll.. My question for you is.. What is your Weekly Betting Schedule? or at least what do you normally do.. for example this was my schedule last year. Find games I like at 1:00 P.M and just bet whatever I feel i can afford, no managing or anything.. After 1:00 p.m. i'm either down or up... if i'm down I usually try to get some or most of it back on the 4:00 p.m games.. If i'm up, I try to make it larger at 4:00 p.m After 4:00 p.m. I bet sunday nite no matter what, because I love to watch football and now I like to gamble, so combining the two is lots of fun for me.. Monday Night I will bet no matter what, unless I am down too much for the week or If i truly don't like anything i will put very small wagers on the game, hoping it makes me concentrate more to learn something about monday night games.. Sunday's for me are usually ALL FOOTBALL, everything else takes a backseat for the day.. I'm usually cranky b/c people try to talk to me as I watch score updates.. This is what I think will happen. After the first week you will be up $160 ($40 juice), You are going to break even the 2nd and 3 rd week. And then on the 4th week, you will lose the early games, bet more at 4 p.m. lose more, then night game bet even more, lose that. After the 4th week you are down to $1500. Monday night comes and you lose again this time -$330. Then Sunday games come and you lose every single game and there goes your $2000. You probably won't quit and keep betting and lose some more. At the end of the season, you probably be down 5 to 6k. This happens to everyone when they start betting. No exceptions. So be prepared. |

$2000 is not a lot for a long season.
Figure to be a 17 week season plus 3 week preseason, you cannot lose more than $100 a week. And if you bet 2 games that would be $50 a game max. But then again, if you bet just to have fun and not worrying about how long it is going to last, then bet a $100 a game and when you lose your $2000. Quit. That is going to happen anyways, week 1 or week 16 don't make a difference. You really don't have a chance with a $2000 bankroll, betting $150 a game. |

There is no way you can bet that big though.
Think about it 100-200-400-800-1600-3200-6400-12800-25600-52000 You are telling me that you are going to bet $52,000 on a game? Don't be stupid. |

Newbies usually win the first time they bet.
I'd be surprise if you hit that number again this week. |

17K on the bears last superbowl!! What an idiot that Grossman dick is threw an interception the last few minutes that sealed the game.
Otherwise the Colts would have won by 3 or something. I built a 20K the whole NFL season and thought I would bet it big. Didn't hit but it was one of the scariest / thrilling 3 hours of my life. |

How many underdogs come in when playing on nationally televised game. ABC, NBC, ESPN, TNT.
I would be very interested in the ATS number. I think you can beat stupid VEGAS at their own game if you bet the dogs on these games. |

Why bother with all these stupid mumbo jumbo?
Just choose Nationally Televised game like TNT and ESPN and bet the underdog. I guarantee you at the end of the season you will be up big. That is how VEGAS make their money. OK? |

Sorry to burst your bubble. You first pick is on the wrong side.
Michigan State is the right play. I wouldn't even bother reading the rest of your picks. $1000 down the drain. |

Who cares if you bet parlay, who are we to talk you out of losing your money.
Go ahead bet $5000 on the parlay. More money for the rest of us. :) |

You are guaranteed to lose the $50.
It is sad that you think this is gambling. This is like scratching lottery tickets, how many people you know actually win? |

Honestly you should have a 100 units before you can start betting.
If you bet $50 a pop, that means you have to have $5000 to throw away. Bet only straight games and at $50 a pop until you build up your bankroll and you can bet bigger. But if you lose say $1000 of your original $5000, bet $25 a pop and if you lose another $1000, bet $15 a pop and so on and so forth. Keep betting smaller until you win, hopefully you are not a total dumbass that you can't figure it out before you burn through the entire bankroll. |

Once you start you cannot stop until you lose everything. You are fucked!
Keep losing so that we can keep taking your money. Eventually you will graduate to a winning player in another couple of seasons. Then you can take money from the newbies. The question is can you make it that long? |
