Not going to get into the game as I'm at VT alum and can't really not be biased. But just for reference, the at line +14 makes this the largest underdogs the Hokies have been at home in the last 22 years (let alone at home on a Thursday night as the feature game against an ACC team).

I'd think him laying 8 units on one (Cowboys) and 5 units on the other (Steelers) would answer (2) for you

was actually leaning the other way on this, KC is averaging 3pts/game in the 1st half on the road and the haven't exactly played teams that are lights out on D (vs BUF, NO, and TB). Is there something I'm missing there or is this just a fade of SD?

It's not what your taught, it's if the playoff structure motivating the teaching is right, which I'm not really behind either. Baseball isn't football, having 1 lights out starter is a huge advantage in a 5 game series, where as having one dominante player on a otherwise mediocre football team isn't as big of an advantage in the playoffs.
That being said, Verlander has really only been lights out at home lately anyway. A's in 5. |

Or could be his team knows he's gonna get lit up again and the offense brings it. Just throwing out the numbers, you decide which it is

Angels are 7-0-1 O/U since June 2006 when Ervin Santana starts as a road dog after going less then 5 innings in his previous start vs the same team.....not sure how many of those came after the opposing teams offense totally disappeared for the last 3 games / while their best hitter was having a mental breakdown though
